Independent residents have visitors screened and restricted. It is not an independent living environment when administrator dictates who your visitors can be. Please watch the KMBC investigative report by Matt Flener to hear how residents are frustrated and feel discriminated against. ALL residents deserve visitors. So sad for the elderly.

Our Lady of Mercy Country Home was exactly that to our family - A place of mercy and a sense of home after my grandmother was very neglected at another facility in town. I constantly received texts from my family telling me how incredible and attentive the staff were. After months of turmoil and stress for our family, this was just exactly what we needed. This facility came highly recommended by other friends who have loved ones here. My grandma was finally at peace. My grandma spent her final days here and she was treated with so much dignity and respect. The staff operated seamlessly with our Hospice Team and we never had to worry if everything was being taken care of. Snacks were brought to our family, hugs were given, words of kindness provided. It was a dream and I am forever thankful that we could provide my grandma with a peaceful and loving ending to her life. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who cared so well for her.

Our Lady of Mercy Country Home felt like the biggest breath of fresh air to our family after my grandma was neglected at a different facility. Every staff member, day and night, was so genuinely loving and treated my grandma as if she was a part of their family. The care team paid attention to detail, was extremely timely in responding to calls for assistance, and collaborated very well with each other to keep the residents safe and cared for. During my grandma's final days, members of our family were there 24 hours a day and the hospitality we were shown with snacks, drinks, hugs and words of comfort meant so much to us. We feel blessed to have been a part of your community and are forever grateful for the peace you gave us and our grandma at the end of her life. Outside of the care, the residents have such a vibrant community and it was a treat to see them enjoying each other's company. This is a special place and the staff here should be so proud of the hard work they do to provide love and dignity to those that deserve it most.

I've been an employee of Our Lady of Mercy for a year now. I so enjoy seeing the residents participating in the many activities and outings that are provided for them here. It is a family atmosphere between the staff and residents. I look forward to many more years being a part of this extended family.

My mom has been a resident at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home in the residential care facility (RCF) for 3 years. She considers Our Lady of Mercy her home. We've found her caregivers to be kind and compassionate. The administration and support staff have been available and supportive. The Sisters and their Board have shown patience and grace when we faced untoward circumstances which was truly appreciated as we worked to resolve our situation. We see evidence of continuous enhancements to the facilities, activities and services supplied to the residents and their families. If you're looking for a facility for a family member or friend, I'd highly recommend you check them out.

This is a great place to work and live! The Sisters have been serving Kansas City for more than 75 years. Our Lady of Mercy is a home where residents can find Care with Dignity. I have just started working at Our Lady Of Mercy recently but have been a part of this community for a few years volunteering. I have also worked at several retirement communities. Everyone says they are different. We are striving to actually be different. All of our employees can attend Mass on the clock. All of our employees are encouraged to take time visiting and loving on our residents. Our Lady has decades upon decades proving that we give care with dignity. It's a pleasure to be on this team!

My mother-in-law recently hit her one year anniversary at OLOM and she absolutely loves it! She especially loves being able to attend Mass six days a week at the on-site chapel. She enjoys bingo three times a week and all the extra activities/events. Shout-out to the Activities Department and the entire staff as they do a great job keeping all residents active, safe and well nourished. They have done a wonderful job at making my MIL feel like this is her home. She tells her family and friends that, "If you can't be happy here, then you won't be happy anywhere!"

The leadership and staff go above and beyond to help all residents. I became acquainted with the Mercidarian Sisters and Our lady of Mercy country home in the early 1990s when my husband's grandmother's both lived here. Then in 2006 my own mother chose to reside here and I was offered part-time position as weekend receptionist . I have been here now for 16 years and I think of our lady of mercy country home as my home away from home and I think of all of the residents as extended family. We give all of our residents kind, considerate care with dignity. In the past few years since the pandemic, I have seen such positive changes here at our Lady of Mercy, all of our staff and management team truly go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our residents and employees are safe and well cared for.

My experience working at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home has been excellent. it is a great place for our love ones with the most caring, friendly staff and supportive management. Just to mention, for the last 3 years, we have received The Clay County Public Health Department Award winners for the Outstanding Effort in ensuring food and quality safety. In 2023, we were awarded with the most friendly place to live.

There is no place like Our Lady Of Mercy Country Home. It is hard to put into words, but when you are here, you know this is a great community. Every decision and action is resident centered. Residents are well cared for because it is the right thing to do,but also because the staff is cared for too, so the joy trickles down. You can feel it. I highly recommend visiting.

I absolutely love this place! Amazing place and wonderful people to work with! The building is well taken care of and always clean! Friendly, caring and compassionate staff members, who love their jobs and it truly shows! I would 1000% recommend this place to everyone looking for a nice place for their loved one to live OR work!! My mom moved to the Country Home a few years ago when she didn't really feel like cooking for herself anymore but wanted to be independent. It has been the best move ever for her! She has her own apartment with a nice sized bedroom, kitchenette (she still likes to make her own coffee), and living room with a patio where she can watch the hummingbirds fight over her feeder. She grows some patio tomatoes and flowers which she has always loved to do. She has three balanced meals a day, housekeeping once a week, and friends to play cards, bingo, or just chat with. She loves to read and there is a wonderful library on site. Mom takes advantage of the beauty shop which is close to the cafeteria, so handy! There are many other activities and services from which to choose! Each person is treated with respect and genuine caring by all staff. Moving to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home has been the perfect place for Mom, and I don't worry about her eating or being happy in her surroundings. I highly recommend you take a tour if you are helping a parent look for a new residence with amenities. The people will win you over! They live the "Care with Dignity" mission.

Could not ask for a better assisted living home for my parents. The staff are so wonderful and kind, and they create a great sense of community for residents. Very comfortable one- and two-bedroom apartments with good meals provided, fun activities both on- and off-site, and transportation to and from medical appointments (although there is also a wonderful nurse practitioner on site).

Grandma moved here after she got tired of cooking her own meals. Now she can go down to the cafeteria. She also says she enjoys "penny bingo" once a week. Gentle, caring staff.
