The staff here once treated me incredible. The following night I was in so much pain, I couldn't function. The staff was incredibly hurtful and spoke poorly about me in condescending tones within earshot while neglecting my needs the entire 24 hours I was admitted. If you value your care, and want people who aren't snobby little high school girls responsible for you when you're in the worst pain of your life. I would avoid this place at all costs. "Lord have Mercy, avoid Mercy"..even medical professionals have warned me. C U next Tuesdys t(-_-t)

I’ve now had a few procedures done here, and from start to finish I experienced the most outstanding care. Every person on staff, from the business office, to radiology, to the outpatient surgery nurses and doctors have all deserved the highest praise. I’m so grateful to live in a community with this level of healthcare available and hope that we see continuous growth!

Just wanted to share our experience today. My brother in law (and sister) from Des Moines were scheduled for his blood transfusion at the Newton location. Due to staffing after Thanksgiving, it was the only place that could accommodate them so quickly. From registration desk, to the lab (thank you DW) you were wonderful! And then up to SCU we met Mandy my brother in laws nurse. 2 units of blood is a long day, 5 hours or so, and she was so friendly and outgoing. She made my sister and husband feel so safe, and took wonderful care of him while he received his transfusion. We live near Newton and Mercy there is our clinic and hospital, so we know how wonderful and lucky we are to have medical care like this, but they were both so impressed with the facility, the staff, and the care received. We always brag about our experiences there, but my brother in law and sister both left impressed and wished they could get more appointments there, Thank you Mandy, and Mercy Hospital in Newton for the excellent, professional, caring experience my family received there today!

If my visit to the ER had ended professionally (and it did NOT), then I would give a better rating. I went to the ER with a hand injury. It turned out to be a sprain, not a break, but it is quite swollen and very painful. The visited started professionally, and until they read the X-rays, all was well. But as I was waiting to hear from the doctor on the results of my X-rays, some weird woman from the paperwork department comes violently barging into my room to say "Im here to discharge you. There's NOTHING wrong with your hand!" Well the Discharge paperwork says there IS something wrong with my hand. I was SO SHOCKED at how that woman who also had NO RIGHT to be the one to tell me a diagnosis (she was NOT medical personnel), came barging in like a bulldozer! I also tried to calm and make a verbal complaint but they would rather have it written on the Internet for all to see. Why? No clue. This area is absolutely weird and hostile to me Don't come to Iowa and esp not here!

Everyone I talked to was super welcoming and caring. They made sure I understood every detail of my surgery and reassured me when I expressed my nerves. I was almost overwhelmed by how much kindness I was shown by Dr. Bliek and the nurses/anaesthesiologists. I can't recommend them enough.

A person I loved very much was transferred to DSM and was treated awful and was NOT taken care of. They sent her home (when she should not have been) I took her to Newton was admitted to ICU. And was taken care of very well. We all loved her travel Nurse Regan!!! Thank you so much!!!

Went thru physical therapy here and Haley was awesome she knows her stuff and is very comfortable to work with. I would not only recommend her but would go again if I needed to.

I don't understand all of the negative comments here... I went to the emergency room this weekend, and was treated AMAZINGLY these people were so kind and very capable of doing the job. I have been having pains in my side for almost two years now, my regular physician was not able to determine the cause and frankly made me feel like "one of the cattle" and that I was making it up... These people found my appendix inflamed, sent me to Mercy in a Ambulance to get it removed... This hospital is a small hospital... but it is FULL of caring and capable Staff. THANK YOU SKIFF!! You have convinced me that you are definitely worthy of 5 stars.

I'm giving it four stars because I have a biased to like my hometown. But if life happens and you find yourself in a bed here; I can tell you that you can order to your wallets desire from a menu with surprisingly good tasting food. The positive in going to a place nobody wants to be.

When my husband and I came to the Audiologist, we entered the hospital on the west side of the hospital. We met Shawna from Process Improvement in the hall. She walked us across the hospital to Audiology which was on the east side of the hospital and in the basement! Elise, the Audiologist was kind and professional! Great staff!

The OB department is amazing! I loved all of the nurses, they were all very attentive and had good bedside manners. I had an unplanned C-section and the doctors did a fantastic job with that. The anesthesiologist was amazing too, she was super sweet and did a great job with my epidural. I really couldn't have asked for a better team of people to get me through my labor and delivery. If I have anymore children in the future, I will be returning to this hospital.
