I rent a business suite in the Kensington. The management is extremely helpful and always on top of any issues that have popped up. Snow removal is done promptly, bathrooms are clean, location is great. I have my own parking space so no tickets and it has been fun to get to know the community of people that live in the building. Highly recommend!

I have lived here for two yrs and am very content with the experience. The Kensington is clean and well kept, quiet and secure. When I have needed help for an issue Kurt or other staff are prompt and helpful. I like the historic aspect of the building - it has character - and I LOVE the location. I would recommend it. And it is reasonably priced, something most renters can't say these days.

I have lived in a one bedroom apartment at The Kensington. The rent is reasonable and the apartments are very nice. Since the Kensington is a remodeled 1800’s hotel every apartment is a bit different than another one of the same style and size. There’s lots of Social Areas including a patio for those summer afternoon. An indoor large balcony for card playing and puzzles. Numerous resident activities. Management is the best I have ever had in my renting years. If you’re a Senior looking to downsize or move to a different place. The is the place to live !!

I’ve lived here at the Kensington for 11 years. It’s a community of seniors with various backgrounds and so much history. I love that I am within walking distance to Old Man River, Levee Park, public library, the theater, church, grocery store, restaurants, and downtown shopping. We’re also very close to our famous Farmers Market. It’s my home!

I moved into the Kensington Apartments in July, 2025. The owner is personable, keeps everything clean and orderly, responds to requests promptly, and takes great pride and care of the building and exterior. The building is welcoming and very well maintained by the owner.

I've lived here almost nine months. Kurt is the new owner of the building and he's the most hands on, helpful, gracious, nice landlord I've ever encountered. Extremely accommodating to reasonable requests. Do I have nit picks? Yes, but very few. I wish there were more garages. I wish there were more 55 to 65 year old residents. I'm 63 and I think I'm one of the youngest. But that's okay since my neighbors are very friendly and welcoming. I wish Kurt could clone himself so that he doesn't burn himself out. I'm on the top floor. Love it.

I have lived here over 3 years and love it. My apartment is cute with very tall ceilings and excellent views of the bluffs, bridge, and river. The neighbors are friendly, quiet, respectful, and intentional about fostering a sense of community. Management is great. The groundskeeper, Richard, is a very kind and personable guy. The owner, Kurt, is super professional, attentive, and responsive. You can tell he takes his role very seriously and goes out of his way for all residents. When I had a leak in my bathroom ceiling for example, he responded and showed up immediately to fix it. He even washed and dried my floor mats (which had gotten very wet) without me asking him to do that. Every time I reach out to him and Richard, they respond immediately and take swift action on whatever issue I'm having. Great building and great management.

I have had the pleasure of living at The Kensington for over 9 years. It has been refurbished during the past 2 years and is the neatest, brightest and cleanest place I have ever lived. The staff is pleasant and helpful in every way. The residents are friendly and there are many activities and things to do. The downtown location is also wonderful. I enjoy it all.

I’ve been living here just over a year and couldn’t be happier. Everything is clean and in beautiful condition. There are plenty of activities and the other residents are wonderful. They have made me feel at home. The building staff and landlord are easy to work with and make you feel comfortable and safe.

I have been a resident for a little over 2 years. This is the best place I could live as a senior! It is affordable, friendly and in a very beautiful old historic building in downtown Winona. Currently, we have a new owner of over 1 year ago, Kurt. In the short time he has been here, he has made an amazing and wonderful change to the entire building from inside to out. Not only does he care about the building and the aesthetics of it, but he has made many improvements in the safety of the building that had quite honestly been neglected. In addition, all the apartments are being slowly converted to state of the art remodeling as in the interior of the whole building.Make sure u come and see our living arrangements as a consideration for your 55 and older living. Lastly, come and introduce yourself, and don't forget to also say "hello" to our on-site Assistant Managers, Richard and Colleen, very helpful and friendly. From Kathryn D. Kensington resident ™

Nice downtown location. Parking close to the bldg., but is outside. You get to shove the snow off your own car. They used to have a great cook to offer lunches. I'm not sure if they still offer lunch but, the old cook is no longer there.

My parents live here. This is well managed, well maintained, located downtown and not too far from the Senior Friendship Center. Good restaurant in the lobby for the public and residents (only open over the lunch hour maybe 11:30am to 1:00pm...good goulash when it's goulash day). Activities for the residents, also! Nice place!
