I feel like the are short staffed and are not responding to patients when they need help.
February 2026
Well i have to say my opinion of this home has DRASTICALLY changed from when we first put my father in Church of God home. Most all of the permanent staff there were very very nice and always helpful and took very good care of my father. They were usually short staffed though and the weekends were the worst. I could barely find someone when i needed them for something. I usually had to hunt them down from room to room. Unfortunately the new company that came on board "LeTort Springs" pushed them downhill very very quickly. They also must be trying to cut costs because the food became very poor and the portions were definitely made smaller no matter what they tried to tell me. I knew and so did my father. I know other residents complained as well. Food is not something to cut back on in a nursing home. Not to mention the quality of the food. The meals were extremely sad to even look at. They apparently dropped down to using less nursing agencies for extra staff help whereas they used multiple agencies from what i heard when it was Church of God home. This information did come from internal staff members so I'm sure there is truth to it. I'm guessing it's a money thing. Well, I'm sure it's a money thing. Unfortunately most of those agency nurses were clueless because other than what information they received in report when they came on duty, they knew nothing about the patients. Nothing at all. This is definitely not good for these older folks. It's very important for relationships to be built with the elderly so they feel wanted and safe. I find this to also be a liability for the home. I'm sure the state was aware of their issues and has probably fined them for being so short staffed and probably other issues as well, but I'm also pretty sure they were just paying the fines and they just kept moving forward business as usual. This is unfortunately something that nursing homes have become a bit to good at doing. At the rate they are going with the new owners "LeTort Springs", they will get shut down at some point. The night my father passed and my family and I came into the facility, i didn't recognize a single person in the building of which was terribly upsetting because i know he probably had agency people that knew nothing about him. So i have to question the care that evening that was given to my father as he was passing. I will ALWAYS question that. If someone is actively dying there needs to be frequent checks on them. NOT EVERY 2 HOURS. I will certainly not put my mother in this home. Maybe no home from the things I've seen and heard about many of these places. I thought i had my dad in a good place. I thought he would be safe there. I have my doubts at this point. It used to be a good home years ago, so that's why we brought my father there. Nothing will come of this and they'll continue to move forward with business as usual. I'm sure they won't have enough respect to contact me to discuss the issues. I'm sure they've been told to shy away and make no further contact. Of which is a cowards move to me. Oh just another piece of advise for everyone, i would advice you to also employ hospice if your loved one qualifies just for a second set of eyes to help care for them and watch things. They were amazing to work with. I also think its very important that the hospice nurses and the facility nurses work on their communication skills going forward. There were some issuess there as well and i spoke to the director of nursing about it. I was not the least bit impressed with her either so i just went in with the attitude that I'll talk and she'll defend the home. I was correct. Please hire a new DON ! Also, heads up, check what homes have had abuse cases. You'll be surprised.

My mom told me that a nurse is being mean to her, my mom only wanted a cheeseburger and nurse gotta be rude, hey, if you truly commit to helping the elderly, you work in church of God home and are being mean, let you know that God always watches, don't think yourself off the hook, do you really care for the elder or you prefer hell, the devil doesn't make promises, he just wants your soul as payment. So I would think twice and be nice to elderly.

The staff and care my father received at Letort Springs Rehab was fantastic! Especially the PT and OT staff. He was there one month and they were able to successfully transition him to return back home! They were always kind to him; worked him hard; and knew him by name. The facility was also clean and safe. I recommend their services.

I spent 10 days in Church of God rehab recently because of injuries. I found the staff and aids to be friendly, helpful, and always cheerful despite the demands of their patients. The only severe criticism that I have is the meals. It was 3 days before I had a meal that was even lukewarm. Most everything was overcooked and cold.
