Moving grandma to an assisted living center was not an easy decision, especially since she only needs precautionary care. The only way we would give it a try was if we found a home that felt safe, welcoming, and loving. Kina 'Ole helped ease our minds and hearts from move-in day. There is no doubt Grandma is in the best of hands. She is actually thriving because of Kina 'Ole's care. She looks forward to daily activities and exercises. She laughs; she eats; she has renewed energy and motivation. The caregivers at Kina 'Ole have actually become extended family. They dote on her and make every effort to make sure she is happy. We feel the love each and every time we visit her, and that has made it all worth it!

This place is PERFECT, my uncle said to me approximately two weeks after he first moved in. Why is it perfect? Probably because he asked us to find him a local senior living facility that provided 24/7/365 assistance from caring providers he could understand well, who would allow him to do as much as he could independently yet be there when he need them, and where he could age in place. Additionally, we were impressed with the large bedroom and private bathroom, the ohana-like feel of Kina Ole Estate-Elima, and how extensively qualified staff would oversee his medical needs. Now I can go on vacation without worrying knowing he’s in good hands.

I am a personal assistant to a 92 year-old who moved into the Kina Ole Elima House about one and a half years ago. She is very happy there, and says that they treat her with respect. Not only do they treat her with respect, they treat her as if she is family!. Mary, the house manager at the Elima house, and all her staff are so wonderful! Mary, Tania, Grace, Anne, Andrea, and Sherinne are the best and they work well as a team. They are caring, respectful, friendly, kind, helpful, patient, and work very hard! They have a lot of heart We are grateful for their caring aloha spirit!

Always Best Care is a proud partner of Kina 'Ole Estate. The property is in a gated community located in beautiful Kane'ohe. Surrounded by lush greenery and a safe environment that you cannot get with other smaller care homes. Great activities for all with experienced, compassion and all around amazing staff. The care team provides my Mother with great care in a clean, home like setting. They have daily activities to keep her active physically and mentally. Each resident has their own room and bathroom with 24/7 assistance close by. They kept my Mother safe during the worst of the Covid pandemic and continue to enforce measures to keep everyone safe and healthy. We trust everyone at Kinaole.

The staff at the Elima house in Kailua are EXTRAORDINARY! From the first day my mother moved in, Mary - House Manager has been everything I didn't know we needed and MORE! She has an AMAZING staff who are all so thoughtful, respectful, compassionate and concerned about my mother's safety and well being as well as for our family too. I have peace of mind living 2,500 miles away knowing that my mother is well cared for and continues to thrive in her new home.

Kina’ole sets the standard for managed elder care. Located in Kaneohe, Hawaii in a manicured garden like setting, the facilities, staff and management are unmatched. My mother lives in the Elua building. She is one of eight tenants, each with their own spacious, air conditioned, well maintained, one bedroom and bath space. Beth Slavens has created an environment there that feels more like a home than a care facility. The certified staff not only exude professionalism, but are also welcoming and make each resident feel like family. Mom is 99 and has thrived so far in this environment and rarely takes naps now. Immediately outside of her door is the care givers station and the living room and dining area. The living room is equipped with overstuffed recliners and a large TV and sound system, and along with the dining area with two person seating, are both located centrally to every room and are within 10-20 feet of Mom’s bedroom. The in home common area is well decorated, has a cathedral ceiling and even a good sized fish tank, with also a guest bathroom. Outside of the building is a walking path throughout the grounds that includes sitting areas, a small fishpond with a running waterfall, and picnic benches. Ample parking is available immediately outside of the home and access to the complex is secured by a controlled gate. Visiting hours are unlimited and can be scheduled with the building manager Makana at anytime 24 hours in advance of your visit. Up to four visitors are allowed in Mom’s room. Entrance to each building is controlled and the staff and visitors follow a strict Covid protocol that currently includes a requirement for a Covid test card, temperature checks and screening, as well as face masks and shields for entry to protect the residents. Three well prepared meals are provided to each resident, with exercises and activities scheduled daily. Trips to the local clinic and doctors are included. Laundry, medication services, in room alarms and notification systems are all included. The certified nurse assistants are courteous, friendly, and help each resident with their physical needs. Mom has severe dementia and the staff is trained to both understand and help her with her needs. Mom loves her new home and staff. She now has been At Kina’ole for 3 weeks and enjoys it there. She is comfortable, safe and well cared for. Besides 24/7 RN coverage, Kina’ole maintains a minimum 1:4 staff to resident ratio during the day and evening, and a 1:8 ratio at night. I have visited numerous other care facilities and find Kina’ole to be unsurpassed in staff, management, quality, service and care. I am convinced that Mom will receive the care and attention she deserves and needs there. Thank you for making her feel loved and at home!

It’s been a week since we transferred my mother to Kina Ole Estates and we (my brothers and my children) are surprised by the improvement that she has shown. She’s using a walker instead of a wheelchair and is more alert and talkative. Beth’s positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm overflows and is exhibited in her staff. Would highly recommend Kina Ole Estates to anyone looking for a place for mom or dad.

Love Kinaole Estates! The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Really like that they have a gate. You have to talk to an employee and tell them who you have an appointment with via an intercom system. The 3 homes have 8 people in each home. Everybody has their own bedroom and a private bathroom! When we walked I saw the residents playing a parachute game. They were having so much fun. There was a bunny in a cage. They took it out later so the people could pet it. So much stuff in this activity room It had a monthly calendar to show the activities for each day. They have the owner(Beth) cutting and styling the men and women! What a great service! A podiatrist comes monthly to cut their toenails and even has a massage therapist if you need one. It appeared the people really like their meals and snacks. Overall this place looks great. It is close to Kaneohe town, but so secluded and quiet. And that is why we decided to have my mother move here!

The staff, especially Beth was very friendly and helpful to our entire family. They made our Dad feel welcomed as he adjusted to his new daily routine. The patience, kindness, and care they gave our Dad made him relax and enjoy being at Kina 'Ole Estates. It has been a big weight lifted from our family's shoulders knowing our Dad is getting quality care and that he is happy and content. They're getting to know him as an individual and accommodate each resident personally instead of making everyone fit into a certain mold. Now we can visit our Dad and enjoy our time together instead as being full time care givers because he is in good hands. We are so happy we found Kina 'Ole Estates for our Dad, it has been the best thing for him and our family.

Our mother has been cared for at Kina Ole Estate for these past two years, reveiving excellent care until her passing. During the pandemic her caregivers were her Ohana, her family, as protocol wouldn't allow visits on site. They all loved her, from the caregivers to the RN to the admin, giving her the TLC she needed. Mahalo Nui Kina Ole!

While honoring the dignity and privacy of their residents and their respective families, the key to their success is an experienced staff and management that emphasizes the need for transparency and excellent communication at all levels. At her previous care home, my mother was not eating despite being served a wide variety of foods. Within 2 months of moving to Kina'Ole, she was eating and gained some weight. This is not a testimony to the food but a testimony to the environment that changed my mother's attitude. She participates in exercise, music therapy, art, and watching TV with the company of the other residents. She enjoys visits with the owner's dog, the resident bunny and watching the tropical fish. Of course, she still misses home. On good days, she thanks us for placing her there and on bad days, she doesn't understand why she can't go home. There are more good days now. Anyone who has set clock alarms to give medication to a parent can appreciate the 24x7 managed care of a facility like Kina'Ole. They manage food, staffing, supplies, laundry, etc. so we can just relax and talk story when we visit. Mom says, with tears in her eyes, "The staff are so dedicated They take good care of me."

I was hesitant to admit my mom to an adult residential care home. I wanted to find the absolute best for her. This center and its location is perfect. They have the nicest facilities and best elderly care. Last time I visited my mom, I found her hanging out with her new friends at this care home. She was relaxed and enjoying her time there. I am glad that I put her in Kina'Ole Estates.
