What a great, homey feeling at Mankato Lodge! Very clean and bright and the residents seem really happy to be there. Staff is attentive and the food is good. Best of all, the Lodging Director, Naomi, really cares and is great to work for. Her dog is there every day and really makes it feel like a community as the "house dog". If you want a place that makes you fell like you're in a "community", this is the place!

I have spent a lot of time in this community. Everyone is always so friendly and happy. The building itself is very nice, and looks even better since the remodel. Whenever I come in around meal times, it always smells amazing! I would definitely recommend Mankato Lodge to family and friends.

Dear Mankato Lodge, My family and I agree with the following. There are many differences between Mom's last residence and Mankato Lodge. It was highly recommended to us by a relative. The first that attracted us is it is about $2000 less per month. More importantly at Mankato Lodge Mom's nursing staff takes care of her health needs, whereas before the nursing staff just did their job. When I call Mankato Lodge to ask questions about Mom's care, rather than waiting on a long set of automated responses and directions only to have to leave a message, someone has always answered the phone at Mankato Lodge. Staff is always on the look out to see how they can help from getting a cart to opening a door. Often they are looking for an opportunity to greet us. How refreshing. The nursing staff contacts me right away with any changes or questions regarding Mom's health to keep both Mankato Lodge and myself up to date on Mom's medical status and care. The Mankato Lodge administration and staff not only know Mom's name, they know her daughter's name, granddaughter's name and great grandchildren's names. In a world of callous "service" in institutions, it's so nice to experience immediate polite regard of each other. I believe rather than living in an assisted living institution, Mom is now living in her home. Thank you, Paula Jean

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how wonderful of a place Mankato Lodge is. Finding a place for your loved ones is a very difficult thing, and if you're like me, my biggest fear was not choosing the right place for many reasons, fear of neglect being the main concern. I looked at a lot of places between Minneapolis and Mankato and no other place felt right. Mankato Lodge was the best decision I ever made for my mother, from the moment I walked in. As my siblings came to visit my mom, I got compliments from them in what a great job I did in finding a place for her, and trust me, they aren't easy to please. For starters it's a clean, bright facility that feels like a home. There's lots of activities should you loved ones want to participate. It's not a large facility, so your loved one will get the attention they need and not become a number. That's what you want to look for, avoid the large complexes. The size of the Lodge is perfect. Most importantly the staff, and the care they give is amazing. The entire staff are composed of the most loyal and caring people, I could down the list name by name if I had the time. Lori and Naomi will make sure all your needs are taken care of. They told me in the beginning, when I was having a hard time with the process for various reasons, that they "had my back", and they followed through, they didn't just give me lip service. I will never forget that, it made such a great impression on me. Every single person I met, from the management, to the nurses, kitchen staff, and the maintenance are so friendly and caring. They all worked very hard, they took their job seriously and went that extra mile to make the residents happy and comfortable. They really do care. And then there's Henry, the rescued yellow lab who is the Ambassador of the Lodge. He melted my moms heart and gave her lots of love. He is amazing. My mom passed away but the relationships I formed at Mankato Lodge, out of the efforts and love that the staff provided has left me with a warm, comfortable feeling moving forward. I have many new friends from the Lodge that I will cherish for the rest of my life, people who were there for my mom and all our family in the time we most needed help. Rest assured, Mankato Lodge will be the best choice you can make for your family.

Wonderful place to live and work. You can tell that all the staff care about all the residents and vice versa. It feels like a family the moment you walk in the door. You also can't beat that you usually have a dog around to bring a smile to your face!

Walking into Mankato Lodge I felt a sunny, friendly community. I observed residents sharing friendships, actively moving about, and abuzz with good energy. I ran into a long-time friend who works there and seemed quite happy in his role and I met another man who works there and whose mother lives there. That says a lot. Naomi the community's resource director is warm, deeply caring, and gracious. The experience made me consider that I might really like living there when I am in the market for a senior living community down the road. This is a smaller, connected, lovely community (no one brooding in the corner here) with all the amenities you'd ever need and located in a quiet, calm neighborhood in the heart of the city. If you stop to check Mankato Lodge out, be sure to ask to meet Henry. Henry's a charmer. He'll steal your heart.

My aunt lived at Primrose for three years and loved it there. The atmosphere was homey and friendly. the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful. The residents are encouraged to participate in the numerous activities and are able to go out and about on the Primrose bus.The food is GREAT! I highly recommend Primrose! GC
November 2019
Their staff could not have been more helpful or kind to me over the past two days as I learned more about Primerose. What a gem they are!
July 2019
I have worked at Primrose for about 16 months and this is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling positions I have ever held. To try to put my feelings about Primrose into words is impossible. It is something that you would be much better off coming and experiencing for yourselves. The residents are not "my residents," they are like my second family and I'm excited that my son gets to grow up with so many grandmas and grandpas! At least, that is what the residents refer to themselves as whenever he visits! Everyone is always checking in on each other (staff and residents) to ensure that things are going well in each other's lives. Our community is small and homely. Everybody knows most everyone else and they are all friends with each other. Starting a conversation can be deadly because you may be talking for a while! At Primrose of Mankato, we foster friendship, togetherness, laughter, and so much more. There are many activities offered so there is something for everyone! Plus, our food is FANTASTIC! Come for a visit and see what we are all about. I promise you'll love it as much as I do!
