I had shared with Mike that I am looking at this home for my mom, this would happen very quickly she was at the hospital waiting to be placed. Danielle was sent to assess mom at the hospital, and she was just wonderful very kind and gentle and very knowledgable. Mike Perretta is a very special man that really is essential to this home, he understood me completely and some of my obstacles, and made this happen. Mom is only a few weeks at the home, I know and really feel that I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION FOR MOM, BECAUSE OF MIKE AND DANIELLE AND THE REST OF THE STAFF AND FOUR ELMS RETIREMENT HOME. I am a young (72) independent senior, living alone in my own home. I recently stayed at Four Elms Retirement Residence for the first two weeks after a Total Knee Replacement. It was the best decision I could have made, and I recommend this solution to anyone! It gave my recovery a great start! The friendly, compassionate, and always-profession staff made me feel very welcome, and completely safe and secure. They greatly exceeded the support I would have had from well-meaning friends and family, had I chosen instead to start my recovery at home alone. Let's face it, our friends and family have busy lives too. I was accommodated in a beautifully furnished and maintained respite suite, with care and support 24-hours at the push of a call button. I enjoyed meals that were tasty, interesting, and satisfying, without leaving me feeling stuffed. I also enjoyed conversation with charming companions when I went to the dining room. I was never lonely. And meals were cheerfully provided by tray in my suite until I felt I wanted to join others in the dining room. I'd often have a little snack dropped off in the evening while I was icing my new knee and watching the news. My needs were anticipated beautiful, my privacy was always respected, and my presence was welcomed at activity sessions (of which there were many to choose). Four Elms was an excellent decision for a respite stay!

We held an event there recently which was very successful. It's a beautiful place and they were kind enough to supply a very good sandwich lunch, in addition to veggies and dip, some cake and cookies and tea and coffee. Although the headcount was provided to them, I found there wasn't quite enough food and they ran out of plates and cold water bottles. The only other complaint is that it was too hot and stuffy in the room provided but otherwise it was a lovely afternoon.

We were truly impressed during our visit to the open house at Four Elms Retirement Residence. The suites, located on the new third floor, are amazing! They are perfect for ensuring a happy and comfortable life for seniors. Highly recommend to those considering a welcoming and vibrant community for their retirement living.

I have been in many retirement homes in And around the GTA. Four Elms is one of the top homes that I have seen. They have an old world elegance that makes you feel right at home. The quality and variety of the meals is top notch. This home provides value in every category. Everyone I met there cares about everyone that comes through the doors. I've gotten to know the staff and I've observed lifestyle for Seniors in various communities. Without hesitation I endorse & recommend Four Elms for Seniors who want to live a happy & healthy retirement lifestyle. The amenities are great, the food is wonderful, the social events & activities keep residents engaged & happy every day. Most importantly, the staff & other residents are so happy & friendly that it speaks volumes about how wonderful life is at Four Elms. I've personally moved many of my clients to Four Elms and 100% of them keep telling me (every time I visit) that they can't believe they didn't move to Four Elms sooner. Great job Four Elms.

The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and go above and beyond to make sure residents are comfortable and happy. The facilities are well-maintained, clean, and offer a variety of amenities to keep residents active and engaged. If you are looking for a place that treats your family member as well if not better than how you would, than Four Elms is the place for you. As you enter the doors the ladies at reception give you such a warm welcome you feel like your family. The residence is bright, clean and smells great. The hallways are wide and rooms are spacious and designed with maximum space usage. The food is delicious!!! 5 star rating. The activities and entertainment they have is top notch and are accommodating for all physical abilities. The nursing staff treat my Mother as if she was theirs. They give her the utmost respect, empathy and are very compassionate. The administrative staff are knowledgable and extremely helpful in arranging all that you need. I have a special love for my girl Sarah, who held my hand through the whole process making this transition for my Mom seemless. It has only been 1mth but my mother has transformed and has become more social and is loving her new found home. I personally can sleep better knowing that my Mom is safe and secure and all her needs are being met. Thank you all at Four Elms, God has answered my prayers in finding a place like home for my mother. You are all a blessing in our lives. God Bless You

I'd like to take this opportunity to provide my thoughts and opinions on Verve's Four Elms Retirement residence. My name is Jason and I'm currently the Dining Service Manager at this beautiful home. I have over 25 years in the hospitality industry. I have experience with cooking & management in fine dining to grills, hospital & senior homes. To sum it up, I've done it all ! I've had the fortunate pleasure to be working at Four Elms now for two fantastic years. In this time my department has been striving to provide the residents and their guests with exceptional healthy food choices & professional dining service. We listen to our community needs & suggestions, implementing changes to improve daily meals and dietary choices. I'd like to believe we have built a tremendous foundation of trust and honesty between ourselves and the community of wonderful people who reside at Four Elms. To continue to keep such a trusting relationship with the community it demands a bunch of caring and passionate people that all are working towards the same goal and that is to provide the best quality of life to people who deserve it. It takes a large group of caring individuals behind the scenes & on the front lines to accomplish these daily goals to provide exemplary service and support to the community within the walls of Four Elms. From our Health & Wellness department with their highly educated nursing staff providing 24hr support, to the engaging Life Enrichment team that is providing games,activities & social interactions. Our Maintenance team works tediously to keep the building functional, beautiful & inviting. Our Marketing team, builds new relationships with future friends to grow within the community. The Concierge team who offer friendly and knowledgeable information to all. Finally, the General Manager provides support, leadership, guidance & strategies to ensure no stone is overlooked. Five years ago, my husband and I started searching for a Retirement Residence with a "community" feel. A discouraging year later, we went to the Four Elms and saw the large guest parking area, the pretty courtyard where people were sitting enjoying the sun and conversation, the well-attended Activity Room, the Bistro, the Gym and Theatre, the Games room where people were playing cards, scrabble, and billiards, the library with complimentary internet, the Legends Cafe which is open 24 hours a day with all the snacks you could want, and heard the chatter among the lunch companions in the dining room. My husband said: "This is it; this is where I want to live," and for the first time in a year, I thoroughly agreed. When we moved in almost four years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting the staff who were always there for us, 24 hours a day, when my husband became ill. This review may sound a bit over the top and too good to be true; however, the Four Elms lived up to all our expectations, from the capable and caring nursing staff, the cheerful and helpful housekeeping staff, the welcoming and professional front desk staff, and my interesting and friendly fellow peers. I highly recommend the Four Elms to anyone looking for an all-encompassing Retirement Residence.

My Mom, Shirley Richman was a resident of Four Elms, Thornhill. She was always treated with dignity and respect snd she referred to her caregivers as sweetheart. She enjoyed all her meals as if she was dining in a fine restaurant. Luis , the GM and the rest of the staff were always available when needed.

Four Elms is a well kept and managed retirement home. Unfortunately, my mother (due to her medical situation), could not enjoy the various activities available. The staff was attentive and minor, typical problems were dealt with promptly and professionally by the general Manager Luis Oliveira. It is a place I would warmly recommend to my friends. I wish all the best to the residents and the staff.

Such a lovely residence. Staff is kind, residents are sweet, and the lengths they go for their events is pretty awesome. We just visited the Cruise week open house, and all the ports were so creative. Great job! 🙂 thoroughly impressed

The General manager Luis Oliveira does a Great Job keeping Residents and Families informed and up to date. The Team is Friendly Caring and compassionate. I highly recommend Four Elms to anyone.

We have had and are still having the most amazing experience with Four Elms. Louis and the staff are kind, helpful and competent always willing to listen. The dining room is a well run restaurant with delicious meals and efficient staff. Daniella and the nursing staff are so efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, also kind and available to help 24/7. Firstly most of the reviews you read here are from the staff. Many are with 5 stars but no comments. It feels to me as though the management has asked staff to write a review so they simply click on the 5 stars but do not comment. But ask the residents how they feel and you'll get a very different idea! Residents happiness should be first and foremost. The meals served here are below the standard that I would expect from a facility that is meant to provide quality care to its residents. The quality of the food itself is subpar. Many of the dishes are overcooked, dry, and lacking in flavour, and the presentation leaves much to be desired. It's clear that the kitchen staff is working within a strict budget, but this shouldn't come at the expense of the residents' enjoyment of their meals. They have had hundreds of complaints about the food and yet nothing changes. The menus sound nice when you read them but so many times it is inedible! They have recently removed all snacks from their coffee area. It's deeply disappointing to learn that a seniors retirement home has decided to remove the snacks from the coffee shop due to non-residents taking advantage of them. While I understand the management's desire to prevent misuse, it's incredibly cheap to punish the residents for the actions of outsiders. Snacks are an important part of the social fabric of a retirement community, providing a place for seniors to gather, relax, and share stories over a cup of coffee and a pastry. Removing them not only diminishes the quality of life for the residents but also damages the sense of community that the coffee shop has helped to foster. There have been many resident meetings where people complain about various things with which they are dissatisfied, and yet nothing changes! It's at the stage that the residents complain amongst themselves but when we ask them to go to the manager they say it is a waste of time because nobody really cares. Think twice before you decide to stay there!
