I came in today to visit a loved one who had just recently been admitted, and I wasn’t sure where their room was. When I was looking at rehabilitation options for my mom, we toured Bella Vita, and I cannot say enough great things about our experience. Although my mom ultimately improved enough to return home with home health services, Bella Vita was without a doubt our number one choice. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with genuine kindness and professionalism. The facility was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and made us feel comfortable during what was a very stressful time for our family. One thing that really stood out was a young lady was the receptionist, she immediately stepped in to help us, was incredibly polite and compassionate, and made sure we were connected with the right person for our tour. She didn’t hesitate to assist us, and that level of customer service made a lasting impression. The team took the time to answer all of our questions, explain the rehabilitation process, and made us feel like my mom would truly be cared for as a person, not just another patient. It was clear that the staff genuinely cares about the residents and their families. I genuinely thought that they had a diffuser going as it smelled so fresh and comforting! Molly referred my family member here when she was marketing, I couldn't be happier we ran into her that day! While visiting my grandpa, I couldn't get through the double doors as I need to be buzzed in, Aaron from human resources happened to walk up and let me in and was nice enough to guide me to my grandpa's room! It is just a place to be put until they figure out you don't need to be there. And instead of giving enough time to figure things out you are discharged and family has to figure things out last minute. They also do not make sure when you are discharged that you have what you need to leave. No contact to the family to let them know or anything. I did not have any issues with them, until we were told on a Thursday afternoon that they were going to discharg my dad on that Sunday when there was no staff there, no planned transportation, and we had not yet set up a home for him to go to. Luckily a social worker was able to help us get him somewhere safe. A lot of his stuff was left behind though since there was no one there to pack him up, and when we asked if we could go pick up his stuff, they said his room was already cleaned so all his stuff was gone.

My grandfather has switched to 3 different homes in the past 5 years because I just didn’t feel the previous ones were a good fit and would treat him and take care of him how I would, if I could! I arrived late Sat evening. No administrators or upper level people in charge here to do an assessment. As soon as I arrived I noticed that the AC in my room which I shared with another older lady who was disabled was not working correctly. You could feel it was warm. I expressed myself several times to the staff both Saturday night and Sunday that something was wrong with this AC and needed to get it fixed ASAP. And again I got " okay we'll write it up and let me get it over to maintenance". Monday comes, at this time the "higher level have arrived" and still no AC nor has anybody came to follow up with me. Finally after 5-6 complaints I see a lady named Janet and Hebre(I believe is her name ). I expressed my frustration and how I did not believe that this was a good first expresion I should be given for this rehab. They immediately walked out went looking for maintenance and came back and guess what?? The maintenance guy was here in hand with his ladder. When I told him what was going on he was told nobody ever told him anything, that he never received an email, text or phone call.. 3 days later after arrival , AC is fixed ... Also had surgery on my foot I cant not walk, as I am needing a gurney to be transported from Drs appt and so on . (No the wheelchair don't work as I have like a hallow on my foot that's very large and uncomfortable). First time being transported to my first doctor's appointment and I am a crucial pain because I have to be put in a wheelchair. The struggle to get inside the transportation of van, get out, back in and then out back to my room. I advised to the staff again that I would like to be in a gurney next time I leave to go to a doctor's appointment that the wheelchair was very uncomfortable and I didn't feel safe. The next time comes for my doctor's appointment a younger lady comes in and tells me that my wheelchair will arrive shortly so that I can use it to go to my doctor's appointment later on today. I told her several times I have asked for a gurney, I cannot go in a wheelchair she states that it wasn't promised. Guess what, I did? I immediately asked for Janet again she returned to my room I let her know the issue. She responds with gives me 15 minutes... 10 minutes pass by Janet returns she states , "Gurnee will arrive for rest of your appointments"!!!!! She didn't question me or my needs she immediately jumped into action..... Other than ," the other who are employed " may need to figure out another career because hospitality is not fit for you..... Also special shout out to the second shift CN.I believe names is Melissa and Mia. Very helpful ladies, and they care.... Facility could use some upgrades. Beds are squeaky and the furniture is Segunda style.

I was a patient here in October and again in November. Both times I had such an excellent experience. The staff are always willing to help and if I had a concern regarding my care, it was addressed immediately so, A huge shout out goes to Ron. The Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists are all God sent. They all worked with me, motivated me and made it very obvious that they are truly there because they care for my overall care. The Nurses here are all so very kind and are extremely compassionate. The Nurses here Rock!!!! When med time came around, they each in their own way made sure that I got my medication on time if not close to it. Both times I was here was because I had dislocated my hip. The second time required surgery and the Nursing staff made sure that I was comfortable and not experiencing any pain. I Highly recommend this particular facility because of the Stellar patient care I received from all of the staff, including the staff in the kitchen. It is very clear that the staff are here because they care for all of their patients and the visitors that come in. My Occupational Therapist, Ms Michelle is such a Huge asset to this particular facility. She is so very compassionate, caring and is very dedicated to patient care and safety. I can not say enough about this Lady. When I did not want to do my therapy, she wouldn't have any of it, she told me that my overall recovery and healing starts with me-no one else. She helped me to hold myself accountable which is what I needed at the start of both my stays at Bella Vita. Veto, my Physical Therapist, is such a caring and compassionate young man who was very patient with me and allowed me to progress at the pace I was most comfortable at. The Physical Therapy Department, as a whole, were so very Professional and caring, they certainly displayed those traits through their attitudes, tenacity and compassion they have for their job to ensure that every patient was given respect and time to do their therapy. They are all there for the Patients. Each and every individual in the Physical Therapy department were such a joy to do my physical therapy with. The director of the PT department has such an Exceptional staff. Great Job! The Nurses here are true Heros in my eyes. Their compassion and level of care for me as a patient was above and beyond any care I have ever received. Most importantly, they treated me with respect and listened when I had questions and if they did not have an answer rite then and there, they made sure to follow up with me once they got an answer to any and all questions I had. I could go on and on about Bella Vita and the care I received there. This is simply, THE BEST FACILITY by far, that I have been in. So, a Huge THANK YOU to all the employees at this particular facility, like the Nurses, the Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy department, the Doctors & Pain Management Docs, Environmental Service, kitchen staff and the Activities department staff were all a part of an Amazing Team. With the right attitude regarding my healing process, and doing my part to heal had made my being at Bella Vita a very pleasant and memorable one. I feel that I was very blessed from the get go, by being brought to Bella Vita to start my recovery and therapy to ensure that my overall health was taken care of. Thankyou bella vita! I liked it here. I loved Kaylyn the activity director and her staff they made my stay fun and welcoming. Thankyou Kaylyn and activities. I also loved Rosie the cna, gabby the nurse, dixon and vernon. And physical therapy is great also.
