Fallbrook Woods is a dedicated memory care community located in Portland. As with any care decision, it’s important to tour and ask the right questions”but having a specialized memory care option in this part of Maine adds meaningful choice for families. The setting is residential in feel, and the community has been serving older adults for many years.

We recently placed our dad into the memory care unit at Fallbrook Woods (12/23). We visit him weekly and for the most part,...unexpectedly. With three of us caring for our father at home, we literally could not keep him entertained, cleaned or dry most of the time. Every time we have gone to visit him, he is dry, warm, clean, engaged and quite happy! We could not be happier. The staff are playful with one another, as well as with the residents. Shoutout to the admissions director, Arthur. He's so personable, honest and caring. All of the nursing staff, housekeepers, dining staff, the facilities person, and honestly.. anyone else we've met. I feel like we've gotten to the point where we are as excited to see the staff as we are our dad. Ashleigh, the admin asst is so helpful whenever we have a question or request. Leticia did a great job creating events to keep residents engaged. It is SUCH a relief to my sisters and I, knowing how awesome and engaged the staff is with the residents. Edit: We lost our father recently, and there are a few things we wanted to share. Their end of life care is incredible. The Fallbrook team were very sensitive to our needs. The hospice nurses are wonderful. They lent whatever mobility device he needed as soon as they realized there was a need. The staff helped us through this final chapter of our father's life. Both hospice nurses told us that they are continually impressed with the level of care and compassion from this facility. 'One of the best in Portland, even against the skilled facilities'. While there are few big bells and whistles (I visited sites with crystal chandeliers), it is the care we sought out. Our father loved the staff as much as we did. That, and cleanliness, were top on our list. Please pay attention to the recent reviews, not the old ones. While the old reviews are based on their expenses at the time, it almost kept us from touring, and I can't help but think it was an entirely different staff/experience than what is happening now. We never had any complaints, other than an odor after someone had an accident, which can't be helped. Thanks to this wonderful place for helping us through this difficult stage of life. We'll miss the entire staff!

My mom has been at Fallbrook Woods for a little over a year now and before she got there, I had no clue what I was going to do. They totally put my mind to rest and knowing they were going to take care of my mom I am so thankful for the staff. And all the nurses Who take care of her it gives me peace of mind, knowing how much they love her and not only her but all of the other ones that live there. I would definitely recommend Fallbrook Woods to anyone that is looking for a care facility for their parents Or loved ones I posted my review quite a while ago, but I wanted to add to it and hopefully Aubrey will be recognized because she is so caring to every one there, including my mom if she wasn’t there, I don’t know what I would do. There have been so many nurses coming and going in there in the last few years my mom has been there and she has been the best. Also, I think the girl in the office is Alicia. I’m so bad on names she has helped me out so much. And I am so happy I found a place that would take care of my mom. Thank you to Fallbrook Woods and all of their staff I just wanted to recognize and give appreciation to the ones who are there every day working hard and taking care of everyone there.

As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), I advise seniors and their families on what to consider when researching senior care and senior living options and much of my work is researching memory care support for those with Alzheimer's or related dementias. I have referred many clients to Fallbrook Woods and several have moved their loved ones to this community. Each time I visit and tour one of my clients at Fallbrook Woods, the community is clean, the staff are comfortable and seem very compassionate about their work with their residents and the residents look comfortable, clean and content in their home. The Directors take care and compassion for elders with various dementias very seriously and it is a pleasure working with this community and recommending it to families.

I can't say enough positive things about the staff I've encountered at Fallbrook ... from administrators to program staff to caregivers to health services. I'd like to name them all, but I know I'd miss someone, so suffice it to say there isn't a single person who hasn't been professional, kind, gracious, caring, and responsive! And always upbeat!!! I wish my husband didn't have to face the challenges/limitations that have come with his age, but I couldn't ask for more capable, engaged, competent, reassuring staff caring for him.

When my family was seeking memory care support for our mom we investigated every facility within a 20 mile radius of Portland. Our top criteria included a caring and compassionate staff and we have not been disappointed in our choice of Fallbrook Woods; You will not find a better group of professionals. From the very first intake meeting to current (daily) interactions we can see our Mom is getting the care she needs. The facility is large enough to offer diverse programming for residents yet small enough that it quickly felt like home for our mom. There is no better feeling than knowing our loved one is safe, happy and getting the care she needs. Thank you Fallbrook Staff!

We recently placed our mom here and could not be happier with the staff and her overall care. They are caring and compassionate towards all of the residents. We looked at other facilities and feel blessed that she is at place where we know she is well cared for and safe.

My Grammy lives here and she turned 95 years young. She has lived here for several years. She cant wait to see gramps again up in heaven. She passed away last December 20th 1016. They were very nice to her while she was here. God bless them.
