I highly recommend Sunrise Retirement home. The sales and admin group led by Monique, John and Elijah are efficient, welcoming and caring .Lyndsay, Bianca and Rosa also make sure all your needs are met. All the PSW’s on the assisted living floor are excellent. They do more than their job. They give exceptional care and are always around to help. All in all Sunrise is a warm, homey and caring environment. The food and programs are also very good.

My husband and I moved to Sunrise of Thornhill on February 17 in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. It's very cute and charming. I have many friends here and have made a lot of friends since I've been here. There are a lot of other couples which is nice when we have our meals, during programs, and to socialize with. So it's really nice to have other couples so we can mingle together. The food I think is excellent. There is never a problem if you don't like something the staff are obliging to make something that we do like or want. There is so much variety. I always find something. Very creative menu. The staff is fantastic. Always smiling. Very helpful. It's the best staff. They know about us, they get to know us. They treat us older people so kind and wonderful. That's why we came here because I found it Hamish. You feel comfortable right away as soon as you come in. We absolutely love living here.

I recently visited Sunrise of Thornhill as a musical entertainer, and it was such a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Staffs were great, professional, helpful, and clearly dedicated to creating a vibrant environment for the residents. A special shout-out to Bianca, who was absolutely lovely! She went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly and that the residents were comfortable. The seniors were so engaging, dancing and singing along and truly participating in the music. It’s clear that the team here does a fantastic job of keeping everyone spirited and active. Highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a place that feels like home!

Upon arrival there is a warm and inviting sunny atmosphere and it comes from not only the beautifully well thought out space, it as well is felt instantly from the warm, supportive and caring staff who greet you with a smile. Just brought my mom to Sunrise 3 weeks ago. She has been very happy and I haven't heard 1 single complaint. Mom says the people are very nice, both the residents and staff. She's very happy with the accommodations, food and environment. I am particularly happy as her suite is truly lovely, she agrees. All the staff is so warm and friendly, always, each and everyone of them. Special shout out to Monique Singer she made sure my mom's move went smooth from our 1st interview, to choosing our suite and preparing it, to move in day and to date. Monique even called from her vacation to make sure all went smooth and anything needed to be done was done. Not only that Monique went and continues to go out of her way to make sure my mom is socializing, meeting new people and is happy. Thanks Monique!!! First, I need to start off by saying, every single member of Sunrise Thornhill is absolutely incredible. They are the most welcoming, caring, genuine and passionate team and I am so grateful for the experience I’ve had here. From the first interaction (phone conversation) to current (with constant updates from the amazing staff), I have nothing to say but amazing things about this home and the people who run it. From the moment I met Elihja and Monique, I knew this was the right place for my father. Making this decision, as a very young lady who has been the primary caregiver for her father with early onset dementia, has been the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to endure and when I reached out in desperate need of help, Monique made sure that they would do anything they could to help me. She was SO accommodating, to the point where within a week, my father was moved in, getting the care and attention he needs to thrive in this stage of his life. Monique and everyone at Sunrise made me feel so comfortable from the second I walked into the home, listening to all my thoughts, concerns and feelings and validating each and every one of them. I expressed concerns about being away from my dad, although I knew it would be the best decision for him and the care offered here would increase his quality of life, and to ease my mind Monique and Rosa will call me (almost daily) with updates/pictures/videos of my dad thriving. My worries are slowly starting to dissipate and all credit is given to the staff at Sunrise, especially Monique, Rosa and Elihja. I’m truly grateful for everything they have done and are continuing to do for me and my dad. Choosing Sunrise is the best and right choice.

Sunrise Senior Living - Thornhill location is a beautiful retirement facility that offers an array of services that cater to the individual needs of its residence. We moved our elderly cousin to a one-bedroom independent living Suite. The Suite is very spacious and the layout is aesthetically pleasing. Our contact, Monique Singer, Associate Director of Sales, is extermely knowledgeable, friendly and has exceptional customer service skills. Elijah, Sunrises' customer facing representative from concierge, reminds me of a orchestra conductor. With his winning personality and customer service skills, he controls the movement of people, residence, guests, deliveries etc. effortlessly. I've spent 2 weeks at Sunrise getting my cousin's Suite ready for him and in that time i have never felt more welcomed in a new environment. From the administration staff, dinning staff, nursing staff, custodial staff etc. they have made my cousins transition not only seamless but also welcoming. Thank you Sunrise for everything you have done and continue to do for our family. This was the best decision ever.

We have recently been awarded the construction renovation project at Sunrise of Thornhill and over the past number of weeks we have gotten to know a lot of the staff and residents at this amazing, and welcoming community. The Executive Director, Andrea, the home's go-to guy Vito, all of the Managers, and staff always greet you with a genuine and welcoming smile, and are always pleased to take a moment to answer a question, provide assistance or simply ask about your day. The residents are happy, always friendly, full of questions and curiosity about the construction project, and some even offer advice on materials that would be just right for the project. We are guests in this home, and even though we have interrupted the peaceful daily life and have taken over parts of this community temporarily, our team could not feel more welcomed. My friend has been a resident for 10 months, from day 1, the staff made her feel that she was a part of their family, from taking her arm and accompanying her to a seat in the dining room, to suggesting that she may need a jacket before she goes outside for her daily walk. With all the activities outlined in the monthly activity calendar she can be as busy as she likes, she can dance up a storm, talk with new friends or have some alone time. It is comforting for me to know she likes her new home and is in good hands.

My parents lived in the 2 bedroom/2bathroom unit on an independent living floor for about 10 years. It was a very positive experience in every way. Without a place like Sunrise of Thornhill they would not have been able to remain living independently as they aged. When my mother passed away the staff was so kind and supportive. They worked with us to move my father to a 1 bedroom unit on the same floor where he remained for the last 2 years of his life. I can honestly say that every staff member we ever dealt with was kind, helpful and friendly. I will always be grateful to Sunrise for making my parents' final years as pleasant as possible.

Sunrise of Thornhill has been an amazing place for my grandmother. She has been there for six years, loves her apartment, and loves the food. She plays maj with her friends every few nights, has lots of activities and things to do and a beautiful library. My grandma has made lots of great memories and now I get to come with my own children to visit and swim (they have an amazing pool!) and eat and just overall spend time with my mother in a beautiful, caring and nurturing environment. Her transition to Sunrise went very smoothly and she adjusted so well with the warmth, friendliness, attentiveness and personalized care provided at Sunrise. Additionally, the wide range of daily activities and programs that are available for residents to do and enjoy have been instrumental in keeping my mom busy, active and social with the wonderful friends she has met. It is important to note that the staff has done a tremendous job in keeping me updated with feedback on my mom and updates on how she is doing, which is especially important for me as I live out of town. Furthermore, whenever I reach out on my end, I have always gotten an immediate response from the Sunrise staff. Highly recommend Sunrise of Thornhill. First I choose this place knowing my dad's health was declining and wanted a place that had both independent and assisted living. My dad moved in over year ago into Independent Living and now in Assisted Living. The staff has been amazing from the beginning. Programs have been great. With Covid19 they have been amazing with constant contact with family by both emails and mail. I was planning on moving my dad out prior to Covid 19 to another place because only room available in AL was tiny one (only one available at time) but seeing how great they have been during Covid19 really made me rethink. Another positive is they have doctor on site that was another big factor that he was able to change doctors to the inhouse one.

This is a great retirement home! My wifes grandfather lives there and really likes it. There Are plenty of things to do including reading, dining in the restaurant, there is a salon, many common reas, and nice people working there. They have free coffee and tea and popcorn in the front desk area. It seems like a nice place to Live with nice people. I recommend it for other retirees.
