Today I went on a tour of Westminster Village of Lenexa and had a very good; very warm experience. The tour was very thorough ; Clayton Frans , the Marketing Director and the staff were very friendly; it was clean and well taken care of. When it is time for long term care , I plan for my mother to live there. The residents were friendly, many were busy with the activities they offer and the outside courtyard will be very nice when the weather gets warmer. My mother loves the outdoors. All the staff took well care of my mother very well, Grace Wise...Mom can be stubborn sometimes..just ask Buba...Now she is in Heaven, probably playing bingo or folding silver ware...I know the staff misses her as we do everyday..Thank you All.

After touring many, many senior care facilities, Westchester Village is at the top of my list. It begins with the cozy feeling when you enter. A coffee bar area to your left, reception to you right and a small harth area ahead. They offer the full continuum of care with the exception of memory care, for which they have a sister company in Overland Park. (The name escapes me) The rooms have a great floor plan, spacious compared to others I visited. Out of the 7 I have visited, Westchester had the most residents out and about, from playing bingo, doing puzzles together, sitting and reading a newspaper, coming and going from walks and errands- and that is saying a lot since it is the smallest facility I toured! It is very cozy with lots of shared spaces for gathering and activities. Along with what appears to be a vibrant community, we met several sweet residents who were gracious enough to allow us to she their apartments. A big plus for my dad who still drives is that there is an underground parking garage, which you simple take the elevator down to and you are right there. He has an indoor car, we joke and with Midwest winters, the thought of having to walk outside with the potential for ice/snow to get to a garage was worrisome. Additionally, some notable points- it is SO CLEAN! You won’t smell a thing anywhere! And I toured rehab the last time. Not a single smell. Many residents have lived there since it opened 12 years ago and they boast 3 centurions with something like 60 rooms between independent and assisted living. All in all, I would be happy for this to be where my dad calls home. Hope this helps others on the hunt!

I am a widow, getting older, but for the most part, in fairly good health. Still, my children thought we should check out some retirement homes for the time I chose to move. We wanted to see what was available, what amenities, services and comforts were offered. Most importantly, it needed to be a place where I would feel comfortable, be happy and at home. Of those we visited, Westchester Village of Lenexa immediately appealed to me. Besides what one expects in day-to-day living, the 'extras' would cover many of the additional needs which might arise for anyone Since that first visit, I have made appointments to take other friends so they can see where I am planning to move. I have never had to find a nursing/rehab facility before, and I read the reviews and took others opinion before having my mom come here. I am glad we made this choice. She was here for 3 weeks getting PT/OT therapy after she had a pacemaker put in. The room was very nice, they kept it clean, and made it feel like she was at home. They accommodate you with everything you need to may your stay comfortable. She was able to choose from a menu of several options for each meal. Everyone came together at the same time to eat. If my mom every got hungry in between meals that had a basket of snacks and fresh fruit that she could have. My mom said the food was really good. Especially the soup! My sister, brother and I would come visit and we were treated with the up most respect and kindness. The caretakers/nurses always asks if there was anything we needed. Everyone was so polite, kind, gracious, helpful, & compassionate. There are activities every day that my mom could participate in. The living room area had a big TV where she was able to watch the Chiefs win the Superbowl! If you are thinking about having a loved one stay for any amount of time, I would highly recommend this place.

The building and rooms are SO clean. we were very impressed from the moment we stepped into the building. we knew right away that this was the place for mom. Before I got inside the door of Westchester of Lenexa, a nice lady outside voluntarily told me that it was a lovely place, her mom had been there for 6 years & loved it & I could definitely tell she did also! I met with the director, Clay, whom I was very impressed with. He gave me a tour, told me about Amazing activities they offer and he also gave me a lot of info on resources available to my brother who is handicapped. He seemed to really care. That meant a great deal to me since I am my brother’s DPOA & advocate for him. I want him to be in a safe place and his safety & quality of care is my main priority. I had a really good feeling that this is going to be the right place for Danny. ™ I felt SO welcome also, everyone was friendly, kind & genuine. If you are looking for a place that goes above and beyond, this is it. Our experience started with Mom's 1st fall which led to 9 weeks of pain and substandard care in rehab facilities and ended with her passing. During this 9 weeks it was decided that Mom and Dad would not be able to remain in their home of 50+ years and after extensive research Westchester Village was selected for their Assisted Living accommodations. We moved Dad in and Mom moved to their Skilled Nursing to complete her rehab but the falls and her illness won that battle. With Dad in Assisted Living, health regulations prevented Mom from joining him for hospice. Rather than have her somewhere that he couldn't visit, Westchester Village made their on-premise apartment available for hospice which allowed Dad to spend as much time as possible with Mom at the end as well as providing extra space for our rather large family as we were also trying to provide comfort and support to Mom, Dad, and each other. Courtney O'Connor, Judy Baxter, and the staff at Westchester Village were kind, gracious, and generous thru this difficult time and continue to offer excellent service and accommodations to my dad. Thank you Westchester Village for providing a safe and caring home for our father!

Westchester has cared for them (and me) with kindness and humor as they've navigated my dad's Parkinson's and his increasing levels of care. My parents have been residents of Assisted Living at WVL for 2 years. From the cleanliness of the facility to the high-quality of staff, there is nothing that I or they would change. It speaks highly of the management team that many of the aides and nurses have been with WVL since it opened. They really do care about the quality of life for their residents. Westchester Village of Lenexa has to be one of the BEST senior living facilities in the country.

My experience here was great. First, I felt like all of my caregivers and staff cared about helping me. They knew my name after the first day. There were several different types of staff, i.e., housekeepers,certified care attendants, certified medical attendants, LPNs, RNs, DON, cook, kitchen help, social worker, PT & OT, medical records, etc. They all performed their jobs like clockwork with friendly caring attitudes. If I preferred to have something different, such as when to get up in the morning it was no problem. It was always, "what would work better for you?" It was shocking to think I was going to nursing facility for rehab. I am 64 and feel like 50. I am so thankful my doctors at the hospital suggested I do this this. I believe my healing time was cut in half due to such great care (including food). Thank you all for everything. Many blessings to each of you.

This place is very fancy, almost like a hotel. I can't comment on how attentive or helpful the staff is seeing as I was there less than an hour. However, it appeared clean and well taken care of.
