Our father was admitted to Asbury on Hospice Care. I was a little concerned at first because it seemed a pretty dated facility; however, I could not have been happier with the care my father received. The staff was incredibly caring, patient and thorough. From the Janitorial staff to the Director, they went above and beyond to let us know they cared.

I would like to take a moment to give all the thanks in the world to the wonderful Nurses and CNA's at Asbury Towers for all the love and care they have given my Grandmother. This is her second stay (first being short term second being long term). During her second stay she has had ALOT of ups and downs. The CNA's and Nurses have done everything possible to make sure she is taken care of properly. She loves them like they were family of her own. She had a medical issue within the past few months that had required her to have extensive wound care. Being a diabetic we were obviously very concerned about her getting the care that she needs for it. She has had bad wounds in the past that have nearly caused her to lose her limb due to inproper care and lack of knowledge by another facility. But let me just tell you how absolutely wonderful she has been healing. The wound care that she has been receiving has been absolutely amazing. Ashley has been a major major factor in the wound care that she has been receiving and we cannot be more grateful for her knowledge and prompt treatment for my Grandmothers wound. If anyone knows us they know how extensive her wound was in the beginning and now just a few months later it is almost completely healed. She still has a little time left with bandages and wound care but for her being diabetic we are absolutely amazed at the healing progress she has made. I honestly do not know what we would do if she didn't have all these wonderful people helping her on a day to day. Especially with her wound care! Thank you to all of you ladies working the floor and making sure she is loved and cared for.

Upon my father arriving to Mill Pond for a few weeks of rehabilitation, I stayed a few hours to make sure he got settled in ok. After never being offered at least some water (let alone anything else), I called Asbury Towers that evening upon arriving back home to leave a message hoping for a call first thing in the morning. To my surprise (and delight), I got a call from Vicki with Asbury Towers admissions office (nicest lady I've met and spoken to in quite some time) calling me back on her personal time not a half hour later. That alone spoke volumes to me. She really did seem concerned over my Dad's welfare and after a few reassurances, I felt a weight being lifted and agreed to transfer him the next morning. After getting everything approved, I immediately went and picked my father up from Mill Pond (although they requested a "second chance") and took him to Asbury Towers where we were greeted by Vicki herself. Not only was my Dad taken to his room and offered some water, but 4-5 times just while I was there, various personnel came in to check on his well being and needs/preferences. Within the first few days, most every time I showed up and at various times, he was either getting his PT a couple times a day, eating, getting assistance with walking, help with his showers and the list goes on along with various activities that are offered. One time while he was at PT in the afternoon while I was waiting on his return, a lady stopped by his room to see if he'd like a chocolate brownie ice cream for a mid-afternoon snack (was on a non-restrictive diet). When she seen he wasn't there, she asked if I'd like one as well. Another time I arrived unannounced, I was taken back by seeing my Dad being walked around outside around the block with one of their therapist holding his arm just in case he were to lose his balance. That personally really set the bar high for me compared to other facilities. I have never driven by or visited other places and seen that. It seems most patients are just put on an exercise bike and left alone for awhile. Fast forward about a month now, my father has been released. When he got there, he had been experiencing occasional falls and using a walker or cane was a way of life for him. Since he's been back home, he occasionally tries to move around without even his cane (although we take it to him when we catch him doing it). But he "can" do it now. He says he's not having knee or back pain that kept him couch/bed bound anymore and he hasn't asked for the last couple of pain killers he had. We've been able to discard them and haven't missed them a bit. Absolutely wonderful and thoughtful people throughout this facility and I very highly recommend.

Father in law admitted here for rehab to home program. He is very satisfied with his care and likes the staff, food and therapy. All the staff is extremely nice and professional. Vicki from admissions and Stephanie Director of Nursing are very helpful and always available if you need them. It is an older facility, but very clean. Lots of activities and food very good. Family can dine with residents also. Very impressed with this facility as a former nurse. Highly recommend this facility.
