Revised! No good answer on why the first 9 months of residency toiletries were allowed, then suddenly, at 9pm the other evening they did a "sweep" & removed everything, including toothpaste! This seems excessive & extreme. Claiming state regulations, but then they weren't following these regulations prior. Very unhappy with this turn of events! It's been 9 months since I moved my mother into the memory care unit here & we are so pleased with level of care & communication received. After a bad experience @ a different facility in another state, we're so happy with our choice of Legacy Ridge! The rooms are huge compared to what else we have seen & the staff seems to truly care.

The care that my family member received from the aides and techs was good - they are caring and lovely people. Sam Head was difficult to work with. He incorrectly accused family and friends of 'sneaking my aunt outside medications' - which was completely false. The staff was not properly trained how to search a room thoroughly and remove the medications that were not supposed to be there (OTC or old Rx that were inadvertently left in various cosmetic bags etc when she moved in). He was never interested in working with the family to try and resolve the issue - his solution was to ban family members and friends (with the exception of the MPA) from visiting her - which is illegal. My aunt declined very quickly and we had to move her to private care where she is doing much better.

I did some reading up on this facility and it really looks like a good place that I would invest the care for my elderly Aunt. Staff seems to be very well qualified nice and clean rooms and overall I gives it 5 stars.

Heritage of Sandy Plains has been the best thing that happened to my family in regards to my mother's care! The staff goes out of their way to make sure that Mom is well looked after despite her many health issues. And my mother is very particular... she likes things done just so. The team there has been very patient with her and interacted with her in a way that satisfies her exactness. The facility there is extremely clean. My mother's room has a very homey and comfortable feel. She enjoys having a private balcony. Mom expecially enjoys the activities provided by the facility. I have felt such peace of mind with their extreme safety protocol during covid-19. If you're looking for the best place in Marietta to care for your one of your loved ones, I give the highest recommendation possible for Heritage of Sandy Plains!

This is the first time we've used a senior care home. So, we were apprehensive. However, we can't say enough about the wonderful staff here and the care and attention my uncle received during respite care. We will not hesitate to use them again. Our family felt that everyone at Heritage went above and beyond and my uncle was smiling everyday. Thank you, Heritage of Sandy Plains for making this as easy as it could be.

My family and I was placed in a difficult situation given my mother's medical condition and had to seriously consider a senior living facility. Tracee and staff at Heritage meet with me in person a few times, texted, and emailed answers to my questions and followed-up with me on a weekly basis. She referred me to some in home care and transportation alternatives as well. In the end my mother did not need a facility but I am thankful to have worked with Heritage at Sandy Plains

Bedbugs. I moved my mom out. I gave them a chance, but the company doesn't seem to treat the infestation as a priority.

I can think of only positive things to say about Heritage on Sandy Plains. What is not to like! From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome. My Mom has been at more expensive and so called "fancier" places but you never felt the love you do here. Since the executive director, Steven, came almost a year ago the aesthetics and care have improved greatly. There is independent and assisted living plus Legacy wing for memory care. There are tons of activities arranged by a veteran social planner. If you like crafts, games-such as bingo-, chair exercises, in house movies, or a trip into the community to eat, shop or see points of interest you will be delighted. Friday is happy hour with entertainment, food and beverage. There is always something going on. The chef makes three meals a day and all of them are from scratch using only fresh not processed foods. His food is amazing and he is in the dining room to serve and check on things and all the help will pitch in as needed to help serve--everyone is hands on, working as a team in all they do. You feel comfortable with a nurse on staff and friendly med techs. They even have a wonderful beauty shop on site. In my opinion they bend over backwards to please and treat you like family. My Mom is 94 and on the first day there a nearby church came in for a sing along and gave everyone a poinsettia. The lady who assists my Mom called her a "princess" as she was helping her get ready for bed. That tickled me. Since then the same woman has informed me of any concerns with Mom's health--swollen ankles, a sore, or a bruise. This communication helps so I can check it out and do what is needed to help her. I am just so happy we found this place and have encouraged others to come; They did and are equally pleased. CHERYL COE, MARIETTA, GA.

I scheduled a tour back in May and the only reason I haven't reviewed Heritage of Sandy Plains before now is that I have been super busy with getting my parents moved to GA from MI! Heritage was one of my favorite facilities that I toured, and Sanaa was my favorite of all the Sales and Marketing Directors I encountered. She was kind, compassionate, helpful, competent and she really spent a lot of time with me and answered all of my questions. She followed up with me as well and went out of her way to look up specialists for my Mother. I loved the beautiful facility as well, it had a very warm and sunny atmosphere - the residents seemed very happy there. The food was great too, as I stayed for lunch that day. I would have loved to been able to put my parents here, but the two of them required more room than a studio apartment.

Mom has been here almost 3 months and loves her "home" and enjoys socializing with her new friends during meals and daily activities. She also enjoys being pampered by the most loving and caring group of employees we have ever been around. I can't praise them enough. Heritage has truly been a blessing to us!

The staff was friendly, compassionate & very helpful during our process to find a new home for my dad. They are knowledgable and I felt like Sanaa really cared about getting to know us & my dad.

My dad moved to Heritage not long ago from his home down the street. While the move was difficult for our family, Heritage made sure we all felt at home. They made sure my dad made friends quickly...They found him the perfect pals to sit with in the dining room. He owned a restaurant so that was a big deal to him. He now calls Heritage "home" and would rather eat at "home" than go out...That made my heart melt...
August 2013
Due to circumstances beyond his control, my brother had to move to Heritage of Sandy Plains quite suddenly. Initially he presented some difficult behaviors, but over time and with ongoing communication between family and staff, a good adjustment was made. He is now in the Memory Care Unit. The staff are patient, kind, and work hard to make residents feel that this is their home. We are quite pleased with how my brother is doing. We look forward to the emails from administration that inform family members of the upcoming activities and services for the residents.

Mom has been at The Heritage of Sandy Plains for more than a year and a half now. It was a blessing that we found such a good place that welcomed her. She has made many friends and has enjoyed having others to talk to. The staff at The Heritage have been kind, compassionate and have helped us along the way. Life transitions are always difficult but, it has been nice to meet other families with common issues.
