My wife suffered a serious fall July 1 of this year, requiring hospitalization and several surgeries for her broken arm and leg. Having had several bad experiences amongst my friends with skilled nursing facilities as soon as it became apparent that this was on the horizon I began touring and interviewing facilities from the Mountain View/Cupertino border to Gilroy. I was surprised at the poor quality of cre and conditions in most of the facilities. When I toured The Terraces I was impressed not only with the cleanliness and lack of crowding, but with the overall atmosphere, which was more like a very good hotel than a skilled nursing facility. My wife was treated with extraordinary care by the nurses, CNA's and therapy staff which is excellent. Both the occupational therapist and physical therapist were skilled and my wife actually looked forward to the sessions. There were no missed therapy sessions which is a problem in many facilities. The food was amazing considering what one would normally find in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility. Again, it was more like one would encounter on a cruise. For every meal, there were several options of entrees, sides, desserts, beverages. There is also an always available menu in the event that she didn't like any of the several entourage that were provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The grounds are extremely spacious and very conducive to walking with a cane, walker or wheelchair. She was discharged home after a 6 week stay with home nursing, therapy and is on the road to recovery. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending this facility and would not hesitate to en trust a loved one in their care.

Moved to the Terraces in 2007. Late in 2017, I needed bilateral knee surgery. Before the operation, I met with the Rehab Department and learned a set of exercises to do ahead, kind of "pre-hab," that was a key to healing. During post-op recovery, I spent 2 weeks in the health center and the Rehab staff guided me to regain mobility with the aid of a walker. Then the tempo went up as I was discharged from skilled nursing and returned home to my apartment. What followed was 2 months of 3 times a week progressively more work with outpatient treatment delivered skillfully and to good purpose. Professional yet extraordinarily caring, the Rehab team never made it easy but today 24 months later my walking pace is 20 minutes per mile (if I have a little tailwind). Living at the Terraces provides more than I expected.

The friendly atmosphere by everyone at the Terraces is a huge benefit to all its residents. As a new resident at the Terraces I found that both the administration and the more established residents went out of their way to welcome new members to their community. The dining room with its open seating quickly became a great way to meet and get to know other residents.

This a warm, caring, close-knit community from staff and team members to residents of several levels of care. I can't say enough of how much I appreciate their keeping us safe through covid and other medical emergencies plus keeping us alert and nimble with many fun activities. I am providing some feedback about my recent stay in short-term rehab at TLG after hip-replacement surgery. The staff attitude at all levels was very positive and some staff members were also very warm. Staff members are well trained in their areas of responsibility, such as nursing and OT and PT. Cleanliness maintenance in both my room and the common areas was excellent. As a bonus, the food was quite good.

They try but they're with my estimator, 40% understaffed. COVID was not kind to this industry. My father has congestive heart failure & an auto immune disease. They were sorely understaffed. Skilled nursing is the beginning of the end. Be very careful with your loved one here.

Welcoming Committee gets a new resident off to a good start, informing of how things are done and who to contact for help. Car battery dead? Maintenance will give you a jump. Need to mail a package? It can be weighed and sent, with postage added to your monthly bill. These are just two small examples of what services are available to residents.

Having my parents at the Terraces is such a blessing. We live 1000 away but feel so confident in the care and companionship they receive. It is so sad that my dad developed dementia soon after they moved in and both are struggling with that change, but the support of staff and other residents is phenomenal. We absolutely love the Terraces !!!!'

This is the best of retirement living. Every amenity (food, housekeeping, yard, pool maintenance, painting, and safety) is provided. Private, quiet apartments with full kitchen and laundry. Lots of planned activities and social events. Lots of opportunity for learning and growing.
