I almost have no words to describe the bond and sense of community amongst staff and residents. I just started as an LPN (PRN), the nurses, aides, life enrichment and PT department are all a breathe of fresh October air! I've worked in ALOT of long-term care facilities over the years, Homestead is by far the best in my opinion. Residents are very well loved and cared for like family!

When bad winter weather hits, Jim and I freshly appreciate our decision to move to Homestead Village. Driveways and sidewalks are efficiently cleared and treated after a snowfall – one of many benefits that make us feel comfortable and secure in our home here.

I was taking care of a resident here for a short time. The food they provide was much better than I expected! Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful, and the upkeep of the public areas was great! I consider it to be a nice place for retirees. I have no idea about the cost.

I arrived to Homestead Village by way of Southern California and Chicago and South Jersey. I was looking for a community that felt like family with all the conveniences of lawn and snow and household maintenance, medical assistance to “ thrive where you are” , and physical and mental activities such as exercise and swim classes and a bus to Quest or lectures on campus. Homestead Village offers all that and more. A beautiful home and a community that cares.

My parents have been residents of Homestead Village for 12 years. They have enjoyed living independently in a cottage until recently when a health problem resulted in the need for emergency care. The Homestead team jumped into action (on a Friday afternoon and through the weekend) to accommodate my parents. Almost 12 weeks later we have tested every department, facility and person in the community. Each has demonstrated incredible and concern for my folks and our family. We can't say enough for this community and the culture of care it exudes. When it's time for us to make the decision to move into a Continuous Care Retirement Community, Homestead will be our first choice.

My mother lives in apartment and couldn't be getting better care. She loves her aide "Z". I want to recognize Donald in food services. Yesterday was his first day on the job and he was working the action station making omelets - made to order. We ordered three omelets which was very time consuming. Others were in line to order too. He kept his cool, was pleasant and had everyone in line entertained . The omelets were delicious. Thank you Donald for a job well done.

My friend in independent living is in a large, beautiful house on well kept grounds. Just be advised, Independent Living Residents must Ask for the help they need. Be sure to learn what the options are for extra care when needed. My friend fell near her house and broke her arm. Upon discharge from the emergency room, she was nearly helpless at home, no nurse, no social services staff checked in on her, or explained options. Friends encouraged her to call the nurse, who somehow gave her the option to go to the "short stay" care center and get the help she needs. That after nearly 3 weeks with no attention to her broken arm. Her skin was irritated from the harsh canvas sling which was not properly fitted, allowing her hand to dangle at the end, swell severly and turn a frightening purple/red color. That senior generation does not know how to ask for help.

Both my grandmother and my great aunt live here and I visit often because my mom who I live with is the power of attorney. This place is amazing. Such a great team of staff, from the dining crew to nurses, secretaries, physical therapists, aids, social workers, management, everyone has been wonderful. My grandmother is very happy and involved in activities in the more independent wing and my great aunt is in nursing care and involved in activities there as well. They did a fabulous job of handling the COVID-19 crisis. The grounds are beautiful, they have housing for visitors last time I checked and there is a church across the street that my grandmother likes. I really enjoy the food when I visit and I live in the area. We feel peaceful knowing they have a program to help residents remain there if they run out of funds. Great place, highly recommend!

If you're looking for a nice place to spend your senior years, or have a relative with dementia, this is the place to go. Centrally located in Lancaster County, it's mere minutes away from downtown shopping and restaurants, yet also close to LGH health campus, and Park City Mall. Housing is available in a variety of sizes from apartments to cottages, one story duplexes or townhouses to the newer Farmstead homes. What sets Homestead Village apart from other communities we visited is the secure memory support residences. Residents live in a "home" like setting complete with living room, dining room, and kitchen in addition to their own ( private) room. A large enclosed outdoor area sports a gazebo, as well as a garden planted and nurtured by residents. The food is good. While other places we looked at were comparable for regular living, this was the only place with accommodations this nice for those with dementia. For us, that was the deciding factor. I know my loved one will experience as good a quality of life as can be expected under the circumstances while living here, and other places we visited did not leave us with that feeling. #dementia #senior living.

Lovely, tranquil setting in western part of Lancaster. Beautiful "cottages" that are more like small houses. Apartments ranging from studio to larger sizes. Health Care section for skilled nursing care, as well as assisted living. Food is always an indicator of quality, and their "cafeteria" is top drawer -- menu selections are superb and food is delicious. Apartment residents eat very well!
