My wife and moved here--into an Independent Living house--12 years ago. She died 5 years ago and I became less independent, so moved into Assisted Living a year and a half ago. It is wonderful to have a place with such a great support system and marvelous staff!

My wife and I are grateful to have the means to be residents of the community for seniors called Lenoir Woods. It is a place, a staff, and a community of residents characterized by conscientious and otherwise competent care and kindness, genuine friendliness, and joy. If only the food selection always included pinto beans and mung beans (both without sugar added), we could not think of a better place to live at this stage of our lives!

I chose Lenoir because my parents lived on Lemmon Drive during the 90's and my mother lived in the Manor after a major stroke and eventually died in the nursing facility in the 2005's. I always appreciated how well they took care of both my parents. They also allowed for me to have my dog.. These two reasons among other reasons made it easy for me to choose Lenoir.

I think it is wonderful here. All the people are so helpful and friendly. I am really enjoying the gym and the classes offered. I look forward to using other resources in the future. The food service workers are just great, and so is the food.

The kindness of the administrative staff members, the pleasantness of all of the maintenance, Housekeeping and food service workers has made the five years and eight months of my living here at Lenoir Woods completely pleasant and happy. Another important factor is the friendliness of the residents here, many of whom I have been friends for many years and many who are new friends.

I moved into a little one-room apartment in mid-October and have been totally satisfied. The apt certainly wouldn't be big enough for 2 people but for me, it's perfect. There is so much to do here that a person never needs to be bored. The people are quite friendly also. Only difficulty has been for me to get "into" groups but that will come in time.

The staff are well trained and provide excellent service. Activities staff are creative and dedicated. Our food service is excellent and our in-house restaurant, Lavinias, is one of the best in Columbia.

I loved working here, the residents were the biggest highlight of my day going to work...I missed them terribly.. most of the ones that were there when I was have passed on...I got to know a lot of them and their families... it's was the best place to work and live...

I'm very happy with Lenoir Woods as a retirement community. I do think service at the Grille could be streamlined, with better systems for serving and keeping supplies filled, but the service is always polite and pleasant if not always quick.

This was a challenging change. We loved where we moved from. The moved itself was difficult. Serious downsizing is always challenging. The food is good. The residents and staff are especially friendly. It will become home very quickly!

My mom made the decision to move into independent living. After researching many places, we chose Lenoir Woods. The residents are very welcoming, numerous fun activities are available, and three restaurants provide delicious, nutritious food. I highly recommend Lenoir Woods!

We recently became independent living residents in a Village Home which in our case is a two bedroom two bath ranch approx 1,300 sq ft. We just love it. Everyone we worked with during our transition period was extremely helpful especially our Senior Living Counselor Kim Carson whose skill at making good things happen for us was amazing.

Moving to Lenoir Woods was the right decision at the right time for us. We chose Lenoir Woods because of the multiple levels of care (independent living, assisted living, short-term care and rehab, skilled nursing, and a memory wing. However, we found so much more. The leadership and staff are skilled and very caring from the director down to the lowest paid staff. Residents are a big family, enjoying and caring for each other. Don't come here to retire. Come here to live life to the fullest that is possible for you from out-of-town trips or plays or to bingo.
