Health care that Colonial Assisted Living has provided for my brother has been excellent. We are very pleased with the healthy and safe environment that all the staff maintain. Barbara was so warm and welcoming when we arrived, reassuring us that my brother’s care needs would be fully met. Regina at the front desk is always warm, welcoming, and on top of any needs that arise. Nichelle is a true problem solver, goes beyond - we don’t know what we would do without her. To name just a few, these wonderful people represent the whole team, from janitorial and kitchen staff to coordinators and medical staff. We have had my brother in other facilities before, and we cannot say enough about how outstanding Colonial in West Palm Beach has been for his care. Thank you for all you do! UPDATE: It has been a little over year since we have had this facility and I what was true then is true now. The staffing has been nothing but kind and patient with all the curve ball with my brother’s condition. We are beyond pleased with the care and warmth they have shown not only the residents but also the family members. Thank you all for the kindness and a special thank you for Ms. Regina for the warmth welcoming every time I come.

My mother was a resident at Colonial Assisted Living in West Palm Beach for two years, and I want to start by saying some of the staff truly made a difference during her time there. The nurses were attentive and caring, and the front desk staff”especially Mrs. Regina”were always very kind and helpful. After my mother passed on June 3rd of this year, both Mrs. Barbra and Mrs. Nichelle were initially , and Nichelle even said she would assist me with contacting the funeral home to help with arrangements.

My mom has lived at colonial since May .. her private suite is spacious and lovely with 2 big windows overlooking the courtyard with a private bathroom and its newly remodeled . There is a small living room area in her suite where we brought in her recliner a loveseat and coffee table her bed nightstand dresser a silk tree and of course her large screen tv .. . The grounds are beautiful , many patio areas , and pathways and nicely landscaped .. The staff are wonderful from the leasing agents to Paul the director and Taylor the head nurse in the memory care unit as well as the aides in memory care . They have a nice dining room / common area where they have their meals ( my mom says food is great ) and participate in activities such as , movies , art days coloring , large Lego block play , flash card games , games of catch and the other day they had a ring toss game going . They even post photos of the residents and the activities so I can see my mom everyday and make sure she’s ok .. On cooler days they go outside on short walks if they are able .. I always come on unscheduled visits and her room is always clean , bed made , bedding changed ,laundry done very often I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than 2-3 dirty items in her laundry basket anytime I’ve visited .. my mother is always clean , cared for , fresh clothes and shoes . I highly recommend colonial to anyone needing assisted living or memory care ..

This building is very beautiful the atmosphere is very pleasant but most of all doing my visit i noticed one of your employees the stood out to me and I believe her name is Lockeria the care that she provides is very compassionate, the smile she had and the way the residents there take to her shows. The moment i walked the building the building she stood out I watched as she interacted with the residents and I must say she gives you a sense of security with your love one. She’s out going, considerate, loving, and very embracing. She is very a model employee. Seems like it’s something natural that come with her not forced and thats what stood out to me. I enjoyed my visit knowing that my love one is receiving and being graced with this kind of individual. My brother has been a resident since October 2024 when he was evacuated from an ALF in Tampa flooded by Hurricane Milton. It was a traumatic experience for him, and we very much appreciated the welcome, care, and friendliness shown by the staff. The facility is older and could use some renovations, but when it comes down to it, it's the staff and the attention to the needs of the individual residents that matters most. With all his family out of state, my brother is comfortable at Colonial-West Palm Beach and will be staying there.

First, I'll start with the good. The location is great because it's in a walkable area with cute shops, hotels, and restaurants right next to the train. I also like that his room has an en-suite bathroom and the building has some character. I like that they have a receptionist and she's friendly and tries to be helpful. The place is clean. But I felt pressured into writing a review. The receptionist called my cell after 8:30 pm one night asking for a google review. I thought she was going to tell me that my father was dead or in the hospital. She realized from my tone what she had done and reassured me he was fine. I told her I was in bed and would do the review later. She sounded a little surprised that I didnt get up and do it right then, but also understanding. I didnt provide a review because I was upset that she did this and unsure what I thought of Colonial Assisted Living. The receptionist called my cell last night at 6:30 pm asking for the review again. Even though she called earlier this time, and I did agree to the review last time and didnt submit one, I dont think this is appropriate or professional. Again, I thought my father had died. Each time she does this, she can hear the hesitation in my voice. She also gives me the impression that I need to write the review on her time - right away. She told me her boss was asking for google reviews. This is an inappropriate use of my cell number. I am also reluctant to review this facility because my father has needed glasses for more than a year now and the last time I checked, he still didnt have his glasses. The staff brought two pairs of glasses by during my last visit, but it was unclear if they were his because they didnt look new. They werent in a package. I didnt understand why they didnt give him his glasses beforehand. Niether pair worked. They also fixed a drawer of his that was broken, which was nice. I didnt ask for it, but they noticed and fixed it. I was left with the impression that this is all for show though.

This a definitely a top tier assisted living facility. I toured this place with my grandmother and it was amazing!!! The staff was outstanding and the facility was squeaky clean. I could go on and on and on and ON about how amazing the staff is here at Colonial Assisted Living - Datura Street. So... I will. It all starts with the Administrator, Nichelle. When we were looking at options for my dad (an 84 yr old blind widower), we knew that finding a community with genuine, compassionate, and CARING staff was far more important than anything aesthetic or "fancy." My dad has always lived a simple life and the quality of the people who surround him and the sincerity of the caregivers who attend to him is what's most important to him. In my initial interactions with Nichelle, it was abundantly clear to me that she exemplifies everything that my dad needs and wants. She is real, relatable, patient, empathetic, and finds ways to help residents maintain their dignity and independence even as they experience symptoms of aging and decline. She's an angel. And after meeting her and learning about the longevity and continuity of her team, I knew Colonial would ultimately be the right choice. With a leader like Nichelle, it's not surprising that the rest of the staff mirror her strengths and character: - Lockeria is highly responsive and takes initiative to make sure that my Dad's medications and other health related needs are attended to. - Regina makes him feel at home and finds so many little ways to make him feel like he is attended to and loved. - Lena stays on top of everything is so great about keeping at watchful eye and helping the family informed. - Zack literally does it all and treats my dad like "his dad. - The dining hall staff is great, too! My dad is a picky eater (a former chef) and always talks about how happy he is with the food at Colonial. The cooks will check on him and offer to make him things that he enjoys eating... and means SOOOOO much to him. More than anything else, I really just have to say THANK YOU!!! When my dad first arrived at Colonial, it was not an easy transition. He was still adapting to losing his vision and other family members were VERY difficult to work with and made it hard for my dad to initially embrace what makes this place so special. However, at no point was the staff discouraged. They maintained a positive attitude and consistently showed up for my dad everyday. It actually wasn't until after a post-hospital stay in a long term care facility that my dad fully realized how GREAT the team at Colonial truly is. QUALITY care (like what is provided at Colonial) is so much more valuable than the finishes inside or a room or the curb appeal of a building. Because of that, my dad is happy to call Colonial his home. Really, EVERYONE at Colonial Assisted Living - Datura Street is so compassionate and sincere. And even though the building itself could use some updating and TLC, to my dad, it doesn't even matter. He is HAPPY because he knows that he is well cared for and that he has everything that he needs.

Caring and professional staff . Michelle / Director and Barbara admissions coordinator ,front desk ,receptionist Ms. Lena W. absolutely makes certain that the residents are being taken care of very well. They are doing a outstanding service with the clients and keeps in contact with family members if there’s any issues that may arise .I give thumbs up as we know sometimes its not easy working with clients with certain health challenges ,but they go over and beyond to make sure that the residents are happy and comfortable.The building I believe maybe a historical landmark and it’s located near city place downtown West Palm Beach with lots of activities and things to do for clients in the area The building is a little dated but have plans for future renovations .I do highly recommend this facility.
