The Springs is a nice looking property! The facility includes independent living, assisted living, and a large memory care unit at the back portion of the building. The last time i was there in 2021, the food was good. Fresh meats, veggies and low sodium carbs made the dining healthy and diverse for residents. Despite being fairly new and upscale, there are few concerning issues there. They are often understaffed and don't always support their employees. I remember people being terminated regularly often times for small infractions or mistakes. Hence the understaffing. It was also reported that the facility was recently hiring care staff at $17 an hour? In Eugene? How would anyone survive on that??! Due to the poor treatment of staff, resident care sustains the blow. They just do not have the staffing ratio consistently to provide all the necessary care. It would help if they had a full time shower aid. What i have learned from working and having family members in various senior care facilities is that smaller is better. Less is more! Separating MC facilities into compact equal better care. You NEVER want to send a loved one to a big building. There is just too much opportunity for things to go awry. Hope this helps. Bottom line great facility but too big. If you bring a loved one here, hire a private caregiver to help out occassionally. Sometimes marketing directors don't appreciate my reviews, but it's for the best interest of the resident. Good luck out there and stay positive!

Well it's been a crazy month but I finally had a chance to review The Springs at Greer Gardens. My Mother has been there close to a month, and what can I say but "Thank You All" for your amazing help and support. Change is hard for your parent, partner, as well as family. Everyone at the Springs at Greer Gardens has literally moved heaven and earth to make the transition possible. To many people to name but you know who you are, Thank you so much we are forever grateful for your amazing support and personal care not only for my Mom, but for us, transition like this is extremely stressful.

The Springs in Eugene really cares about their residents and their staff members. They have all levels of care with independent living, assisted living, and memory care. All the staff members always seem happy and smile at you and greet you in the hallway- the housekeepers, caregivers, maintenance workers, and kitchen staff. I recommend The Springs as a very high quality place to retire to. I work in elder care myself, so I have experience in this department- this is one of the best places in town for your folks to live!

Fee Stubblefield, Springs Living CEO: "The goal here is to create a universal set of indicators that can give capital an indication and really help us as operators answer that question." (Senior Housing News, 2/2020) Here's a quality indicator for you, Fee: ONE caregiver on duty for at least 60 residents, one being our mom. This occurred last week, but has happened many many times in the past. The caregiver was doing their best to run from resident to resident and meet every need, obviously an impossible task. The Springs at Greer Gardens is NEVER fully staffed and is often severely understaffed. They pay poverty wages to those doing their most important and challenging work - caring for people. High turnover is an obvious and expected consequence. The Springs is praised in the business world for its financial strength and growth, and keeping labor costs down is a profit-maximizer - the indicator sure to please its capital providers. But our mother has never received the care and attention promised in its promotional materials.

Although I know they are "trying", there have been many, many problems with the a/c and heating in the assisted living areas. During the snow storm electricity was lost and residents families were not notified to give us an opportunity to bring our relatives home. The wait staff in the assisted living facility is changing frequently and more often than not, insufficient staff. If you have AT&T you will NOT have any service connections while at the Springs. There are false fire alarms every month, in the first year they seemed to be a couple a week. They need to have more people working on the Assisted Living part of the Springs. More activities geared to those that are harder of hearing, are sight impaired and need assistance with ambulatory issues. It would be nice if they had an area where someone could play a piano or have more frequent music venues. Looking to have volunteers help in the Activity Department would be helpful and advisable. There is a lot of finger pointing when problems arise and no one seems to want to actually be responsible and respond with a positive solution. They have a long ways to go before I would rate them a 5. Most of the 5's come from Independent Living and not Assisted Living.

My dad spent a short but impactful period of time at The Springs and we couldn't have been happier there. He recently passed away and at the end was quite sick, every single person we came in contact from administrators to medical technicians to the service staff were helpful, competent at their jobs and perhaps most importantly, kind. They always went above and beyond. The facilities themselves are beautiful, well-appointed and very pleasant to be in. Thank you The Springs at Greer Gardens for everything!

My father spent his last six months in their Assisted Living center, and felt very welcomed and cared for by the staff. I was in periodic contact with administrators due to his needs, and they were accessible, responsive, and attentive. It is a beautiful facility, but more importantly, the people who work there are by and large exceptional and compassionate.

I just visited my mother here and am so impressed with this senior living home. I was amazed to see how much my mother can do here. She loves to paint and they have painting classes every week !!! Also they have swimming classes and work out rooms ! The food is outstanding. The staff is incredible and really takes the time to listen to people. They are very attentive to the residents needs and will do as much as possible to keep them happy. This place is total luxury without the high prices ! I myself want to live here when I retire ! Keep up the good work! Well done !
