The Lakeside at Amelia has been a great place for my Dad. We started in the independent living area and have progressed to the assisted living side. Debbie T. assisted us when we determined he needed more services and provided an extremely smooth transition. The first day in the dining room on the Assisted side Dad was greeted by a server who knew him from the independent side. She was pointing out residents who he could dine with. Residents who also transitioned, providing comfort and familiarity to all. Tonya the Activity Director found out my Dad doesn't drink. Now, during Happy Hour she has made diet coke available so that he can feel comfortable participating. All the staff has been accommodating, receptive, communicative and helpful. It was a good move !

My 96 year old mother moved into Assisted Living at The Lakeside. She was reluctant to move into Assisted Living as she had been in Independent Living in Melbourne, Florida for 7 years, but had gone through some physical problems and we wanted her near us on the island. What a wonderful choice we made, she loves The Lakeside and she gets so much attention from the staff. The meals are outstanding and there are so many activities for her and even a hair salon. We are very pleased with our choice of The Lakeside!

Our Dad was a resident of The Lakeside at Amelia Island for the past 7 years, relocating from Sarasota, FL which had been his home for 25 years. He was one of the initial residents of the community when it opened in January 2019. He began his residence in an independent living apartment and transitioned to assisted living in April 2025. Shortly thereafter, following a stroke, he transferred to Lakeside memory care until his passing last month at 94 years of age. Each move was seamless and Dad enjoyed years of extended independence due to the support and services provided through Lakeside's various residential options. The attention, camaraderie, and care shown by all Lakeside staff (and residents) made Lakeside home for him. We can’t say enough good things about everyone “ administrators, direct care staff (nursing/CNA), and direct service people (dining, housekeeping, engagement, wellness, concierge/transportation). Also, a shout-out for the behind-the-scenes folks and their staffs “ (Maintenance Director, Justin Sloper; Sales Director, Jen Riesenberger; and Business Office Director, Nora Bequette) “ always willingly and promptly assisting (with a smile) whenever needed. It’s been a while since my mother passed but I have to say she was very happy at The Lakeside for nearly a year. We moved her to assisted living to be near us and we’re so happy that we chose The Lakeside. Mom was able to enjoy so much of the fun things to do. (Especially $1 bingo which both myself and my granddaughter were able to join her and it was always so fun!) So many activities offered, such friendly caregivers and the most wonderful director, Linda Jones. My mom adored her,, Linda often popped in to say hello and brightened my mom’s day. Because of Linda, it is the most wonderful senior living facility. She really cares about the residents and their families. As my mom began to not do well, she was so supportive and for that I will be so grateful. It was a very difficult time for me as I have never experienced hospice and end of life. Linda was on vacation when my mom passed but called her staff each day to see how she was doing. She’s really a special person, my mom thought of her as a dear friend and I do as well. I have many fun memories of my mom enjoying herself and I was always welcomed to join her in whatever activity was scheduled for the day. I can’t end without mentioning the dining. Mom loved the food and I have to say, I did too. If mom wasn’t up for going out for lunch, I joined her in the dining room and it was very nice. Such patient and caring serversthey all knew she loved ice cream. There were always many flavors to pick from and often she chose 2 or 3! She also loved root beer and that was always brought to her as soon as she sat down! As you can see, I can’t say enough about Lakeside, really an amazing place. Kelly A and family

My mother has lived in Independent Living and now is in the Assisted Living residences and I can truly say that the care and attention the staff show to her (and my family) consistently exceeds my expectations. I believe Lakeside to be the premiere senior living experience on Amelia Island, having toured all of the options on island before committing to moving into Assisted Living. from Nora (Business Director and her partner Debbie (LTC coordinator - both helpful and with excellent senses of humor!) to Jen R (Dir of sales) and the amazing CNA and Dining staff, the team at Lakeside has embraced my mother and made her very welcome in the community. I trust them completely with the care of my family member. The food is quite good and consistent, and there are more engaging activities and trips out than even a 20 year old could keep up with - it is not staid or boring in any way. If you are considering a senior living environment that is caring, safe, engaging, and welcoming, you can do no better than taking a look at Lakeside.

The team went above and beyond checking in with Mom on a regular basis to insure she had the additional support she needed. My mother in law moved to FB when my father in law passed away in 2024. We were able to get her into assisted living very quickly. She was able to get her health improved and moved over to the independent apartments. Both AL and IL buildings are beautiful, clean and peaceful. There are many caring and outstanding people working at Lakeside but two that stand beyond compare are Debbie Tavaras and Patti Gomez. Each of these women cares deeply for the residents and their families and friends. The engagement workers offer a very wide variety of activities and trips as well as social gatherings so there's something for everyone each week or day.

If you are looking for a memory care community on Amelia Island that truly treats residents like family, I cannot recommend the Memory Care unit at Lakeside of Amelia highly enough. Both of my parents were residents there, and from day one they were cared for in a beautiful, safe, and genuinely supportive environment. The manager, Dee Jones, is outstanding. She leads with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail, and it shows in every part of the unit. Dee and her entire staff, including the CNA team and the pharmacy support, consistently went out of their way to make sure my parents were checked on, comfortable, and treated with dignity. Meals were timely, needs were anticipated, and there was always a sense that someone was paying attention, not simply working a shift. I also appreciated how intentional they were about keeping residents engaged. The activities were not an afterthought. They made a real effort to involve my parents in daily routines and programming in a way that matched their abilities and helped preserve quality of life. As both of my parents’ needs progressed and they required hospice, Lakeside of Amelia handled that transition with care and coordination. Having the Nurse Practitioner involved and working alongside Community Hospice eased what could have been an extremely difficult change, and it brought our family a lot of comfort and reassurance. This team did not simply provide care. They provided steadiness, kindness, and real support when it mattered most. We toured Lakeside as a possible place for my Mother. The entire process, from initial contact to the actual tour was very seamless and professional. Lisa, the contact person, was very good about communicating with us as far as scheduling and availability for the tour. Lakeside of Amelia is a beautiful place with a variety of accommodations available. It has a wonderful outdoor area that backs up to the lake and is perfect for just relaxing in the sun. Lots of wildlife to enjoy. I personally love the turtles. Tanya, the manager, is absolutely incredible. She’s always attentive, caring, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. There’s never a dull moment here ” the activity calendar is packed with fun things to do, from games and crafts to outings and special events. If you’re a resident make sure you go to Strength Training with David every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:30pm until 2! Every visit feels like a good time, and it’s wonderful to see residents smiling, laughing, and making connections. The Lakeside at Amelia Island is lovely a property with a staff to match. My parents initially moved into one of the beautiful cottages on the property which they enjoyed for several years. After my mother passed, Debbie Tavares was always a call or text away, assisting us with finding my dad an apartment in the main building that suited his needs perfectly. She worked with us and was always patient and kind. The whole staff became like family to my dad, my sister and me. Everyone knew my dad by name and welcomed him with smiles and greetings. The resources and activities are plentiful and inclusive, and the food is wonderful, and my dad was very happy at The Lakeside. The property is lovely and well kept and provided us many places to walk and to sit and enjoy a view, including the pond, the pool and many outdoor seating areas, which are comfortable and well situated. I cannot say enough about the staff, as each member was always available to provide a helping hand or guidance, with a smile and enthusiasm. I wish we could thank each member of the staff individually. We are very grateful for all of the love and support we got at The Lakeside at Amelia Island.

The Lakeside at Amelia Island has been home for our now 93-year-old Dad since January of 2019; 1st, he resided in an independent living apartment and currently, he lives in assisted living. Our experiences, our Dad’s and ours, are very positive. While living independently, our Dad enjoyed a high level of personal autonomy in the Lakeside and greater Amelia Island communities. He moved about freely and was able to take care of his personal and medical/medication needs, drive his car, go shopping and visit locally with my sister and me. As our Dad slowed down and required supervision to safely and consistently complete daily life activities and tasks, we met with Debbie Tavares several times to review the various Lakeside living options. In early April 2025, he transferred to assistive living. Our Dad was only there a short time, when he unfortunately suffered a stroke, requiring hospitalization and then short-term (residential) rehabilitation (STR). Linda Jones, Elyssa Conway and Craig Filaski extended much appreciated support to us. Craig made visits to our Dad during his hospitalization and during his stay at STR. They provided us with professional guidance regarding the re-examination of the Lakeside living options, taking into consideration our Dad’s observed post-stroke abilities and needs. Their support and guidance aided in our decision to continue forward with assisted living. We are extremely grateful for Lakeside’s repeated willingness to meet with us and to provide us with their expertise and reassurance during a difficult and challenging time. We are confident in the helpful and caring environment Lakeside provides for our Dad. Whatever the future brings, we feel assured Lakeside will help support us during the next transition. Lakeside is rest and caring for those that reside in the independent, assisted living and memory care facilities. My experience is with independent living. My husband and I have lived in a 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage there for almost 2 years and feel we are in the perfect place to have living without stress with all our needs met. Debbie Tavares, Associate Executive Director, of The Lakeside of Amelia is our rock for any questions or requests we have. We are still independent and able to enjoy the surrounding town of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. Many activities are available at The Lakeside and no chores are attached. The staff become your helpers and friends.

Lakeside was a lifesaver for me when I found myself needing immediate care for my father-in-law. I live outside the US and was struggling to find somewhere to place him in Florida. Mimi and the entire staff at Lakeside were so helpful throughout the entire process to get my father in law moved into Lakeside. It was a stressful time and their care and patience made it so much easier. I relied on their expertise to navigate the admission process, the move from rehab, and the furnishing of his new apartment. Their quick responses to my emails and texts were invaluable. I know it would not have gone as smoothly if they weren’t leading the charge. It means so much to know he’s in good hands at Lakeside.

To Everyone who is looking for that special place for your loved one. Well hands down Lakeside at Amelia Island Assisted Living. From the minute we walked in . Greeted with a smile at the front desk. We had a nice tour and lots of space her her to feel comfortable. Lots of activity, so We moved my Mother in Law here a a little over a year ago. We have been an over the moon on how well this team works together. I have to Mention (Debbie Travares) . Associate executive Director has been bye my side through some tough decisions. She has gone out of her way to make sure my mother in law is comfortable through this transition. We recently had to take her car away at the age of 90, Debbie made the transition super smooth. There has always been resistance on her side about the car. So how ever is approached it. I can tell you the whole family is very pleased, with the care that she is receiving. The sincere, loving, care that each of them give my mother and so many others that are going through the very same things as we age. I want to give my sincere gratitude to you Debbie for all that you have done for our family. Debbie and her extraordinary team a 5 stars rating. Sincerely The whole entire Huffman family.

My mom and dad lived in Independent living at The Lakeside for 2+ years before my mom passed. My dad decided he wanted to go live in a VA home but quickly realized that was not for him. He is moving back to The Lakeside and when we went to sign the paperwork, so many of the staff and some residents were so happy and welcomed him back. They have many activities, trips, transportation. It’s a beautiful facility and the people are wonderful!

We moved into the Preserve at The Lakeside two and one half years ago . Due to the aging process, my husband and I were seeking a quality and comfortable living environment which we have found here. Our home is spacious, well appointed and well maintained. We have good neighbors from comparable backgrounds and are provided two nutritious meal each day - breakfast and dinner - with many menu options. The staff members are all kind, caring, compassionate folks who serve us well. We have lived on Amelia Island since retiring thirty years ago and hope to continue enjoying the many amenities provided for us at this facility. We are truly blessed to call The Lakeside our home. Lakeside has been an amazing care facility for step mom for almost two years in memory care. I adore all the nurses and Delishia is a rockstar. She has a ton on her plate and always is happy and fun. My Dad was in assisted living for only three months before passing but his nurses and caregivers were incredible as well. I still keep on touch with my favorites. 🥰

My mother has lived at Lakeside for 4 years. She began as a resident in Assisted Living and moved to Memory Care about 3 months later. I have nothing but respect for the entire staff in the memory care unit. It is a very difficult job to care for the residents in MC. They each have different needs that are constantly changing. I think the staff handles these challenges with care and understanding. They are patient and kind with the residents. They have been responsive to requests we have made regarding changes to my mother’s care plan. My mother’s room is clean, her clothes are laundered regularly and she is showered with clean clothes each time I pop by. Everyday can’t be perfect in memory care there are too many uncontrollable variables in this type of setting. What we care about most is that the staff consistently does their best, stays patient and kind on the days that offer challenges, and genuinely care for each and every resident and their wellbeing. Lakeside does all this! We are thankful every day.

My mom moved to Lakeside just over one year ago from another Senior Living Facility. She is thriving at Lakeside. Mom attends flower arranging classes, fashion shows, takes trips for shopping church and local events like Dickens on Main Street, weekly Bible Study. One big plus is the dining experience. The Lakeside at Amelia is a gem in our senior community on Amelia Island! The staff and services provided is always nurturing and professional. There are activities to suit everyone’s needs and wants too. My 98 year old father (soon to be 99) transitioned to this community from Illinois, and is thriving! I highly recommend this senior living facility!

My mother has been in Lakeside independent living for 7 months now, and while adapting to a Senior community lifestyle has been personally challenging for her at times, she is happy and cared for very well. The management and staff have been exceptional in helping her get settled and in making sure she feels like a part of the community. They have consistently gone above and beyond to welcome her and our family, and we couldn't be more pleased with their efforts, compassion and genuine, caring attitudes. From our very first visit until today, this lovely community has felt like home to all of us.

After my 86 year old mother had a fall and broke her kneecap we spent 9 weeks trying to exit her from horrible post surgery rehabilitation centers. Fighting the Medicare health system and trying to advocate for my Mother was exhausting and maddening. Once we secured a place for my parents at Lakeside's Assisted Living Community we found we had a team of partners, educating us, fighting with us, to bring her and my Father under their care. Mimi Tiwari went over and above advocating for my Mother even on her personal time, chasing down paperwork and facilitating all of the logistics of the move into Lakeside. My parents are delighted with their new place and all of their caregivers. What a relief to know we have such great team watching out for them.

My mother was at Lakeside from the beginning till this past January, when she passed away in her home and assisted living. Lakeside was wonderful to my mother. I was her caregiver and checked on her a few times a week she was happy there. there were activities, games, entertainment, gardening, companionships and she was given attention. Maybe the food could have had a little more variety or changes. Not everything was perfect but when things were addressed, they were handled. My mother was treated with dignity. And what touched my heart was at the end of her life. This staff and nurses treated her like she was part of their own family. They gave her respect and love.And I can’t say more than how thankful I am that she was there and they helped her last days.. holding her hand, giving her hugs, sending up food for her me so I could be next to her. Thank you Lakeside and staff I will always remember our time there fondly

I cannot say enough good things about the management and especially the staff at The Lakeside at Amelia Island. Both of my parents lived there for 4 years before they passed. The director, the LPN's, CNA's, med techs, dining staff, concierge, housekeeping and the transportation team took care of them as if they were their family. They communicated with me regarding their care wonderfully. Everyone was so caring and compassionate when they passed away. My parents really enjoyed each and every caregiver. I will truly miss seeing everyone. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you all so much for all you do.

My mother moved into The Lakeside at Amelia three months ago, and both she and all of us in her immediate family could not be happier with the decision. It’s an exceptional place ” a clean, bright, cheery facility with the kindest, most caring staff we could’ve possibly hoped for. Understandably, my mom at first was apprehensive about leaving her home and going into assisted living, but within days, she felt completely at home in her new apartment, made lasting friends, and adored all of her caretakers, who make her feel adored in return. I’d like to thank in particular Jen Riesenberger, Sales Director for guiding us all through the initial process and most especially, Mimi Tiwari, Sales Coordinator for going above and beyond on a daily basis to make my mom and all of us comfortable. She’s truly an angel. I could not recommend The Lakeside at Amelia more highly.
