I'm writing on behalf of a cousin who recently moved to The Bristal in Sayville. My cousin, who has health issues, was living alone, hundreds of miles away from family. His safety was in question and his health care team told us that his living situation needed to change. My husband and I toured assisted living facilities close to where we live and we both liked the look and feel of The Bristal as soon as we saw it. Denise Milligan was so helpful to us and patient as we worked to convince my cousin that it was time to move. We started the process in the winter of 2024 and we moved him at the end of August. Denise knew that we had a preference for a larger unit and she kept my cousin in mind when one became available. Denise was wonderful - it's challenging to move someone from so far away but she helped us throughout. It all worked out so nicely. I had braced myself for complaints from my cousin but I'm happy to say that he's doing well. Every member of the team at The Bristal has been pleasant and helpful - they are always inviting him to attend activities and he is! Kirsten in Recreation is terrific, as are Geri, Marjorie and Jean at the Front Desk. Octavia in the Wellness Center deserves a shout out for helping me navigate a tricky medical test prep. The staff who clean his room and bring him his meds are so kind and he enjoys the food there (nice selection every day) and eating in the dining room. We are happy that my cousin is at The Bristal and we recommend a tour to anyone who is looking on behalf of a loved one!

We transferred my boyfriends grandpa from Bristal in NJ to Bristal in Sayville and what a difference. This Bristal has amazing and caring staff. It is very clean and kept well. My boyfriends grandfather is happy and we are very close. We come in and out and the staff knows who we are and what resident is our family member. The whole staff goes above and beyond for the residents so it's worth the price. The process of getting him into Bristal was fabulous and Denise was so helpful! If you are looking for a place that will give your love ones freedom and care for your love ones choose this one.

My mom came to The Bristal in March of 2022. She had lived alone after my Dad passed, and began having trouble caring for herself. We initially had tried a different assisted living where she had a very difficult time, as she had been diagnosed with dementia and they did not offer memory care. The Reflections Community was exactly what she needed. The staff was very warm and welcoming and made mom and I feel at home. I feel the care that mom has received has been excellent. The staff members are all hands on and care as much about the caregivers as they do about the residents. The Reflections family has become like our family. The Bristal also offers a support group monthly to help families cope with responsibilities of being a caregiver which can often be filled with stress and emotions. If you are looking for a place for your love one to live that will be like home and keep them safe and active The Bristal is definitely a great choice.

Thank You Bristal Sayville. Denise You are amazing. My sister is living her best life. She has met so many friends. I hope people know there are levels of care you offer. 1 to 3. I thought my sister was 3. Turns out she 1 and thriving. Thank God for your wonderful staff. My stress level is gone to 1. Today I brought her dog to meet her friends. LOKI can stay overnight.

My 96-year-old father has been living at the Bristal for 2 years. I highly recommend the Sayville location for the kindness and compassion of its staff. A particular shout out to Pedro Garcia who currently runs the dining room. When we met Pedro he was a server and since he has taken charge of this area, the joy and drive he brings to his work has affected his entire staff in such an amazing way. Pedro is among several department managers who make the Bristal Sayville a very special place indeed!

Outstanding seamless transition of loved one to the Bristal @ Sayville. Denise, Karen, Rose and the entire staff deserve credit for making this admission somewhat painless. Everyone was friendly,knowledgeable,and most importantly, the cookies were delicious! Thank you all!

This facility is beautiful with a friendly staff however the food has gone from ok to horrible in the past six months. The residents have complained to management and they say they would bring their complaints to senior management but the food is getting worse. We have had to buy food and bring it in so our Mom has something decent to eat. Their have been staff shortages as well. There is obviously no experienced restaurant management on site. COVID can only be blamed to a small extent. They clearly are not willing to pay enough for an experienced staff to feed and serve to the residents. We can not recommend this facility at this time because the food has gotten so bad.

From our first visit and throughout my mother-in-law's stay at The Bristal, the staff was so welcoming and helpful. From admissions to everyday care and beyond, they truly were supportive with any questions, concerns and understanding. Many of the staff, including Denise in admissions, Carolyn in case management and Pat in nursing went above and beyond with their constant encouragement and compassion. It was our hope that my mother-in-law could stay a longer time, but medical reasons finally dictated that she needed a 24/7 nursing home. Even upon discharge and afterwards, their expertise and suggestions were invaluable. The facility itself was beautiful and spacious, clean and neat with a very friendly atmosphere. We highly recommend.

Our family are extremely pleased with the diligent care and accommodations my dad receives at Bristal-Sayville. It's a difficult decision and he was initially adamant about not leaving his house. Once he experienced the attention and beauty of Bristal it all changed. He's not only happier but his health has improved too. I'm so grateful to the staff- they're truly concerned with his well being. Thank you Bristal Sayville!

I had interviewed two other assisted living facilities before the Bristol and in each one there was something that made me think it was not the right place for my mom, almost instantly. When I sat with Denise I immediately wanted to know more and see more. Denise took the time to explain so many more things than the other two places had.She answered all my questions and was not at all pushy. My tour of the facility was eye opening. The bingo hall , salon, dining room, courtyard and so much more. I never knew that an assisted living home could be so luxurious! My mom was reluctant at first but has since settled in and now takes advantage of most of the activities and trips they offer. She even calls me to tell me all about her experiences. I also love that I am welcomed as well when I visit or come to take her out for the day. I have never once felt unwelcome. The entire staff is so friendly and caring. They really know the residents too, not just by name but observe and notice the things they do. I was informed by Denise that my mom has taken to helping a new resident. I would never have know that because my mom did not tell me. That is how aware the staff is of the clients in their care. With an enhanced license, having a nurse and doctor on staff is a big comfort for me. I know that her everyday health needs will be taken care of and monitored. The quality of life that has been afforded my mom at The Bristol of Sayville is something I could not have given her if she had continued to live with me. I highly recommend checking out this assisted living facility if your are considering placement for your loved one.

The Bristal at Sayville has become home for our mom and our dad. Mom is well cared for by the Reflections staff and dad is building new friendships on the independent side. They each have spaces tailored to their individual needs under the same roof. We, their children, have peace of mind. We know that our parents are safe, cared for with respect and living with dignity. We are grateful to the Bristal's professional, competent staff. We look forward to building new family memories here.

There are not enough words to say how incredible The Bristal at Sayville is. The decor is beautiful, the activities varied and plentiful, but most importantly each and every staff member treats my mom like family. As my mom always says "they are really truly nice, not just pretending." From the moment you walk in to be greeted with a beautiful smile from Geri (the works's finest re ceptionist) to the nurses, aides, housekeepers, activities and dining staff — each person is genuinely caring thoughtful patient and loving. The Bristal has added so much to our mom's life and to the comfort of our whole family. I travel often and am anxious about my mom — but knowing she is at The Bristal where her every need is attended to gives me the ultimate gift of comfort. The Bristal is a palace that treats its "family" as royalty.
