Two adults; from my extended family; have been living at Lion's Gate; independent living section; for two years. The complex is immaculately-clean; and serene. The grounds are spacious and wooded. Resident safety is emphasized via hallway railings and signage. The Bistro dining-hall has delicious hot food and salads. The visitor-lounge has comfortable seating. The synagogue is elegantly-appointed; with the 12 Chagall Windows(replicas of the Hadassah Hospital Jeruselem synagogue); on the holy ark. Most important; every staff member provides assistance with gentleness and a smile. Accordingly, I look forward; to every visit.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 12 years, and during that time I have never witnessed a CEO or administrator respond to a crisis in the manner you did. Your willingness to shovel snow for staff, clear vehicles, ensure everyone was provided a meal, and actively work on the floors alongside every department until all staff were safe demonstrated exceptional leadership. Your actions exemplified true teamwork and commitment, and they did not go unnoticed. Thank you for leading by example during a time when it mattered most.

This review is for Lion's Gate Assisted Living. I helped a friend move and settle in last November. It was not an easy transition for this individual. The staff (nursing, activities and even management) has bent over backward to help him adjust. The facility is clean and the activities schedule is full and varied. No one likes loosing independence but, if you have to move a loved one somewhere, I believe Lion's Gate is one of best.

By far the best in the business. They do not talk it they walk it. They are literally the only facility that did not tell us what we wanted to hear in the assessment, get all of the "up front money," and then start remembering all the little things they cannot do for dad in that level of care . Thank you for caring enough about your employees that they want to remain employed there. Because when you do not have a lot of staff turn over they get to know and care for our loved ones at a level that is rarely ever reached. Many of these local so called memory living programs of these s. At Lionsgate you are taking ordinary direct care givers and turning them into exceptional care givers. Shout out to Ruth and Karen the two RNs in the Safehaven unit, they are buy far the two hardest working, most empathetic humble unit leaders I have ever met.

Lions Gate is the best rehab for any loved one. I believe that a lot of people who have never entered a skilled nursing facility do not realize how great the care is at this facility. I have been to several rehabs in South Jersey and this is the best one by far. Both therapy and nursing go above and beyond for their patients. I would recommend to any person who needs a rehab stay to come to Lions Gate.

The staff of dementia care are especially caring and effective. God bless them. Facility tries to correct problems brought to their attention but overall very good and caring. Entire facility recommended.

My 84 year old mother has been a patient in Lions Gate Rehab twice in the past year. After experiencing the lacking care in other facilities, I would not have her stay anywhere else other than Lions Gate. From start to finish her stays there have provided excellent care for her. She felt welcomed and cared for. The staff is kind, positive, helpful and responsive. Mom was comfortable and her PT and OT were top notch. There were activities for the patients that went a long way to lifting her spirits and speeding her recovery. Upon discharge Mom’s nurses, aides, and therapists all stopped by to say goodbye, give her tips for continued recovery at home and wish her well. This is without a doubt the best place in the area.

This original review was from 4 years ago. I am updating. I think I should clarify that. I hope they have improved over the years. That said my original review was a 1 star due to unappealing food, extended periods without being checked on, short therapy session, Spartan rooms with squeaky beds and having to wheel oneself to the dining without needed assistance. All that said no harm came to my father and no major incidents occured. This is in comparison to a recent stay at another facility. Below is the original review. My standards have softened to do no harm. My father was very disappointed with his experience at Lion’s Gate Rehab. Here is his review, as he stated it to me. The food is terrible and only offered you two options for dinner every night, neither of which you want. The room is minimal, with a thin hospital bed mattress that is plastic and makes noise with every move you make. Care is minimal. Not rude or mean, just minimal and Neglectful (forgot to pick me up for meals while in a wheelchair. I had to wheel myself. I waited for someone to pick me up for breakfast, but no one showed up, so I wheeled myself down from my room to the luncheon area and then wheeled myself back because after an hour and no one came to pick me up to take me back to my room. This happened daily for meals.) The nursing staff was friendly enough, just not offering much to be desired. My daughter, who visited, helped me do things the nurses should have, like getting in bed at night and getting to meals. Compared to other rehabilitation places, the care here was almost nonexistent. I could sit there for hours and never see anybody aside for a pulse check every 3 hours or so. Even worse was when I had to inform the nurses that they hadn’t given me my medication which they did not realize. PT was half an hour a day. It was minimal attention, including one day when they wanted me to use an exercise bike that I had to wait over five minutes to use. I rode the bike for 15 minutes, and then my session was over, and I was sent back to my room. If this is supposed to be rehabilitation for me to get stronger and better to go home, they certainly aren’t doing much of it. Besides having a desperately terrible experience and wanting to go home right away because I was miserable there, it was a wonderful time. I would like to state that we felt that this review needed to be said because while the rehab was relatively clean and the staff was not abusive, improvements still need to be made to garner the reputation of excellence it is supposed to have. We gave a low review in hopes these issues will be addressed and improved for future patients. And to add, my father got much better once I brought him home. Update: My standard of neglect and poor care has recently changed due to my father being in another facility that was so bad he had to rehab longer due to injuries acquired from neglect and poor treatment at the rehab. Lion’s Gate needed work but was not nearly as bad as what we have recently experienced. For that we add a star.

It is the perfect place for mental stimulation, professional medical care and personal life style freedom. We moved here from San Francisco two years ago and cannot imagine a better life.

The covid check lady Jodi was really nice. The nurses take great care of my aunt.

I’ll give it an average. The facility was clean, staff was respectable and once our call button was replaced for not working we received service when needed. My mom was in for rehab to get strength back in her legs, she was there for about a week and a half and was sent home. After being home for a month she’s back to her old self running through the house at 83 years old. Pros. Great people and rehab experience. Cons. Visitors have to sign in main building and leave there and go to rehab building. Food menu needs to be updated with better choices.

I think this a very good life care community. My family has been affiliated since 2014 and has utilized assisted living, rehab and dementia care for assisted living. The one stars sound like sour grapes from dirt bags who were lucky to get there on rehab and have the state pay for them.

We moved our parents from an awful facility in Sewell. What a difference at Lions Gate! Residents and visitors are treated like family by caring and friendly staff. We are now comfortable trusting our parents care to skilled staff. Food here is also so much better, and our parents actually get complete meals, with nothing missing, which really impressed us.

My husband has been in the rehab facility at Lions Gate on two separate occasions. Both times I was impressed with the competence of the medical staff and competence and caring attitude of the support staff. In my opinion that is what is most important in choosing a rehab facility for someone in your family. My only complaint would be the quality of the food that is served. It definitely needs improvement. However, in the scheme of things it was not the food that made the difference in my husband's rehabilitation. It was the people at Lions Gate who assisted his effort. xoxoxox
