I toured LaSonora to research living optic or my mom. Mia was an excellent resource and toured me through the facility. She was very upbeat and was able to answer my numerous questions. What blew me away was that she greeted every resident we encountered by their first name. The facility is beautiful and offers several lifestyle options based on need. Definitely a top option for my mom.

My dad is very happy at La Sonora! He loves the food, has made good friends, and is really enjoying all the community has to offer. In the short time he's been there, he has become engaged in lots of activities and has even joined a committee. The staff provides great care and is cheerfully responsive to his disability needs. Management has been easy to work with and attentive to the family as well as Dad. This is all in stark contrast to the year he spent in a different facility. I'm so glad he made the change to La Sonora.

Dad moved to La Sonora from another facility and now, in one word, is thriving. He has made friends with a wide variety of backgrounds and feels like he is in a community that cares about him and makes life interesting. The staff has been responsive, professional and cheerful. While my dad has mobility challenges and requires specialized equipment, the staff quickly learned how to operate the equipment and support his needs. The management team has developed a great culture at La Sonora which is reflected in the low staff turnover. They also solicit and listen to feedback from residents in order to continuously improve the support and to encourage participation in the community from residents. I am grateful to the management team and to the staff for providing an enriching environment to my father and giving our family peace of mind.

Littles and Lists You're killing me smalls

The move in process at La Sonora was a smooth process that made me feel at ease going through the process of finding the perfect space for my family member. Kelly and the entire activity department really go out of their way to ensure the residents have engaging and fun filled activities and events. They even take the time to sit and have conversations with residents even when they are busy. The smiles, laughter and general friendliness of all of the staff make the atmosphere here feel like home! I am beyond happy that we chose this community.

We toured the facility looking for a place for my mother. We were impressed overall, it is a very nice facility with many activities for the residents. The biggest downsides are no pool, inflexible meal plan and no on site assistance with showering, laundry, etc.

My loved one was in memory care here for 3 months, and has recently passed away. Our family was underwhelmed and, at times, alarmed, with the lack of care and attention given to a resident with late-stage dementia. On several occasions, I pressed the call light, and the caregivers failed to respond...when family was there! Red flag! This is considered luxury assisted living, but the memory care unit needs upgrading. It doesnt smell pleasant. The environment is dark, dreary, and depressing. The outside patio has no covered areas to protect residents from the strong AZ heat and sun. On our loved one's passing, we heard from no one, even when we were emptying his room. I wouldn't recommend this facility.

One of the servers Marisela is amazing! She truly loves her residents. She goes out of her way. My mother in law is always excited to get her a a server. She should a shift lead. I asked around and everyone loves her. She remembers their orders and gives them great service.

This place is amazing. I have been in all the sections for Independent, Assisted Living and for Memory Care. The love and professionalism for their residents is above and beyond. They have so many activites with a lot of fun and laughter. You guys definitely earn the 5 GOLD STAR Standard. La Sonora's representative, Danielle, did a very fine job showing my wife and I around the beautiful facility. She answered our questions and provided a straightforward but warm experience. The residence apartments were spacious and well designed for adding one's on touch for decorating and even appliances. The dining rooms and other community rooms were very comfortable and had great lighting for reading or other activities. We're beginning our research regarding Independent Living arrangements and were very thankful for this fine start with our adventure.

i have been looking at various Independent living facilities for the past few months. Having decided on one that really didn't meet all of my needs thought I would settle for that facility. Then Paul gave me a tour of La Sonora and that felt just like home to me. Paul was very gracious and obviously was very proud of the facility. The building has everything that one would need and when completed will be spectacular. The apartments are spacious and very well designed. My Dad and I met with Paul Canez for a tour of the new property, to see if it would be a good fit for my Step Mom who is in another Memory Care facility; and for my Dad who reluctantly agreed to consider a move himself, to be able to spend more time with her. Paul was empathetic to our needs, an outstanding listener, who showed us what we were looking for without wasting time on things that were less important. He introduced us to Edith, the Memory Care Director, who gave us extra confidence my Step Mom would be well cared for, with a more personalized program. They plan to have a courtyard area with Desert Tortoises, that several rooms will look out at....a unique touch! There was no pressure, but just the feeling that they were interested in what was best for the individual. My Dad left very impressed, and with a bit of excitement about the future. We are looking forward to the opening!

On March 1st, 2021, acting as POA on behalf of a neighbor, I met with Paul Canez to learn about La Sonora and to see if this senior living/assisted living community would suit the needs of my neighbor as a place for future residence. Paul was excellent and gave me a guided tour of La Sonora showing me all that La Sonora had to offer and answered all of my questions about the assisted living side of La Sonora. Floor plans were reviewed and I was furnished with digital pictures of the units under consideration. Based on Paul's understanding and explanations, La Sonora is an outstanding senior living community and a reservation was executed on behalf of my neighbor. Paul was also excellent a month later on April 5th, in allowing a change in unit from what was originally selected to a different apartment. I highly recommend Paul and this community.

My 93 yr old Mom originally wanted to move back to a lower elevation and had spent many years in Tucson in earlier years. We toured several facilities during our trip to Tucson in June 2021. Paul was so helpful during our tour and answered any questions we had. My Mom had decided on La Sonora because it was so nice and had everything that she was looking for. After she returned to Prescott, she had more questions and Paul was so great with the extra help. He was able to take a video of the Apt. she was looking at so she could make a final decision. Ultimately, she decided to wait to make the move but will choose La Sonora when she does. It is brand new and in such a nice area with so many nice features.
