After looking at several facilities, I made the decision to go with the Memory Care unit at Hampton Manor of Woodhaven. The staff was always nice, but my mom simply didn't get cared for the way I would have expected her to be. She was sent to the hospital 3 times in 3 weeks, left in a Geri-Chair for 24 hours and days at a time and supposedly given a skin assessment but had a pressure sore pad on her butt from the hospital 10 days after being taken in. BE AWARE, this facility has no licensed staff members (no RNs or LPNs) as it is considered a non-skilled facility. I brought up the care concerns to the Executive Director who got upset with my verbiage and told me he would talk to the staff. He called me a few days later and we got into a heated argument with him stating he would just throw my mother out without having to wait the 30 days. Sure enough, he did. The facility sent my mother to the hospital for a UTI and while i was with my mother in the ER they called stating they would not allow her back into the facility. The Executive Director told me they couldn't care for my mother the way I had expected and if he did, he would have to send me a bill for $25,000-$30,000 a month. He also said I should "get my wife inline" because she swore at him and he said she was disrespectful (the real reason he threw my mother out, IMO). As stated, the staff is very friendly, but management and the care provided is not where it should be. I absolutely cannot recommend this facility.

Hampton Manor of Trenton is a beautiful facility. Even the most minor construction/design details were well thought out. But more importantly, it's the people. From the housekeepers to maintenance to the chef to the front office; everyone is kind and caring. They speak and treat their residents with kindness and respect. They listen to resident input at monthly meetings. The activities are endless; there is something for everyone. Hands down the best the downriver area has to offer!

I would give this place a zero if I could. My mother in-law lives there. She had blood on her bathroom floor and days went by and it is still there. The Carpet gets vacuumed on rare occasions. The help comes and goes and many people quit . I will be surprised if they let you see my review, I know because mine never got through, let us see if they will post this.

I never thought an Assisted Living home could ever be so nice. The entire staff has been attentive and caring. Plenty of crafts and activities for the residents. There's always something to do or see. Very clean building. Good food. Entertainment. Many also enjoy the Theater Room and so much more.
