Good Community Environment.

After looking at a number of options, we found Deephaven Woods to be just right for my mom's needs. My mom lived there for almost 6 years and she greatly loved her caregivers (and they loved her too). Some key thoughts after our experience: - The facility has a non-institutionalized feeling - The staff is second-to-none. Compassionate caregivers and knowledgeable, experienced nurses. - My mom received the best individualized attention - The programs are designed for a wide variety of resident needs. From independent living to assisted care, enhanced care and memory care. - Management staff was responsive to any issues or questions. The facility has a nice overall impression being located within a small community. It is part of a campus including a school and church. My mom truly enjoyed being there.

Our 90 year old mother has played the piano her entire life. The staff @ Deephaven Woods allowed us to bring her baby grand piano with her so she can play anytime she wants in the Memory Care unit. She loves having the piano she has played since she was 16 easily accessible. It brings her such joy and the staff was able to make it happen!

It is a nice place to live! The staff are very kind and do a good job. Everything is very clean and the views outside are nice - gardens or the school soccer field. The director Dylan is very nice and helpful to everyone too. I am very happy to live here!

My parents moved to Deephaven Woods two and half years ago. We have great appreciation for the professional and caring staff in memory care. While extremely difficult to watch our parents decline, the experienced nurses and aides have guided us through this journey with empathy and genuine fondness for mom and dad. We are grateful for the cleanliness, the good food, the activities and events.

My Mother in Law received kind, compassion, professional care at Deephaven Woods Independent Living. The small community of residents were respected and loved by the staff, making them feel safe and adding to their quality of life. The caregivers were also warm, friendly and responsive to the loved ones of the residents.

My mother spent a year at Deephaven Woods before her passing last summer. The staff was very loving and attentive to all her needs. The smaller facility gave her the feeling of family where everyone calls you by your name. She particularly enjoyed all the extra activities they offered, especially the musical entertainment! During her time at there I felt that she was well taken care of and in a safe environment. We were very happy with our choice to have our mom at Deephaven Woods!

Deephaven Woods was the third care facility for my mother and although not the most expensive, by far best care she received. Mom truly loved her care givers and they loved her back. I appreciated how the mgmt team worked with me to quickly modify her care as her needs progressed. When the time came, the nursing staff stayed hours late to ensure hospice was set up and their staff ready to support her and my family. I did years of hospice volunteering in variety of facilities in western suburbs, extremely thankful to get Mom into Deephaven Woods.

Staff, overall, is extremely unfriendly. Some of the Aides are very kind but clearly overworked. Overall, the environment is permeated with low energy and lack of people. The facility is consistently understaffed. It takes staff a very long time, well past the required 10 minutes, to respond to resident calls. Food is poor, almost always lukewarm or cold. Over the holidays, dinner service was cancelled at least 3 times with meals being brought to residents' rooms between 35-50 minutes later than they normally eat. No silverware or napkins. The food was clearly cooked hours and hours before and reheated. Activities are very limited. Even meal times which are supposed to offer social interaction were recently relegated to residents' rooms. Residents don't receive the basic level of care they are paying for and yet they are being charged additional fees when they push their call buttons. How is that even possible? Staff makes promises of change with no follow through. The facility seems to lack the basic processes necessary to ensure consistent, quality care. I've been involved with various facilities for well over 2 decades and this isn't the place I'd be putting my loved one.

My mom has been at Deephaven Woods for almost two years and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is absolutely excellent! They go a step above and beyond to ensure that she is comfortable in her surroundings and happy. She is treated with respect and patience. I have and will continue to recommend Deephaven Woods - so far two friends have moved in as a result of our positive experiences!!!

We are so pleased with the care my aunt has been receiving the Deephaven Woods memory care unit since February of 2022. They have wonderful activities available, nutritious food and loving staff. The facility is clean and well cared for. When our Mom decided to sell her home and move, Deephaven Woods was an easy choice. She has settled into a wonderful routine in the independent side of the facility. She attends all the activities and is absolutely thriving. The residents and staff have been absolutely wonderful, so supportive and welcoming. Thank you for making these transitions so easy for our family.

We have not had the best experience for our loved one at Deephaven. We do not feel like they have many activities, nevermind ones that would be mentally stimulating for those residents in Memory Care. Staff is frequently talking together with backs turned or on their phones not paying attention to the residents. It is not very safe. Our loved one has lived here for 3 or 4 years and we have had very few interactions with staff as if we are family. I do not feel as if they are trying to talk to residents or get to know them. No relationship.

After trying another senior living facility we are thrilled for our mother to now be at Deephaven Woods. The experience with the DW team from the start has been caring, detailed and professional. Susan in marketing and outreach was informed, kind and easy to work with when making our decision. Denise in nursing is respectfully compassionate, quick to respond and her assistants are well trained and happy. The weekly Catholic church services and rosary with the nuns, in the building, has been a wonderful opportunity. Also Daily residents socials help the community connect and spend casual time together. We highly recommend Deephaven Woods for family and seniors looking for a warm and inviting space to call home.

My mother has had all levels of elder care in the past five years, and much of it was sub par. Coming to Deephaven Woods was a breath of fresh air from the moment we walked in the door. Everyone from the wait staff to cleaning crew, and of course, the medical staff has been welcoming and attentive. Just a marvelous overall experience for my mom!

Beautiful community! The care and staff here are wonderful! Deephaven Woods is surrounded by beautiful trees and is very peaceful. The building itself is beautifully decorated and the Memory Care has a wonderful walk-out patio surrounded by trees. It is an Ebenezer community so the care is high quality! Definitely recommend it if you are looking for senior living!!
