I've had the pleasure of visiting Colonial Heights and spending time playing cards with the residents, and every visit has been a wonderful experience. The residents are warm and welcoming, and it's clear they enjoy being part of such a caring community. The staff is absolutely amazing”friendly, compassionate, and always accommodating. From the sales staff , the front desk, the dining staff and the aides I was stunned to find such a welcoming, loving home for my parents. Residents are known by name hugs and smiles are generously shared and there’s always a helping hand around. It’s extremely clean, well run, food is first rate- I couldn’t ask for more . The same is true for the Heights building and the Gardens building.

Great people and fun activities almost daily. A fun place to live! In my four years living here I have found the administration to be friendly and willing to listen to any concerns I may have about anything! Pam H. and Jennie are always willing to help. The people at the front desk will also go out of their way to help residents! Pam L., Wellness Director, is very helpful in keeping residents fit, and Cindy, Activities Director, always comes up with great ideas to keep the residents involved with crafts and Happy Hours!

My 86 year old father moved to Colonial Heights Senior independent living in March. My sister and I tried to talk him out of moving and selling his house. He had a nice ranch home that had been paid off for over 40 years. He just needed to stop doing physical things that 86 year-old shouldn’t be doing.. However, he continued to visit senior independent living places in northern Kentucky. His last visit was at Colonial Heights. We had the pleasure of meeting Jenny. She is truly one of the sweetest individuals that Colonial Heights has employed there. My father made the decision to move there and hasn’t regretted it since. When we first moved him in, Jenny, was so incredibly helpful to me. I couldn’t possibly thank her enough for all her help in the beginning. She is one of my favorite staff members there! It truly turned out to be the best thing for my father. His apartment is super cute and he can still come and go as he pleases. One of the perks of senior independent living there is, if your loved one ends up having a medical procedure and needs extra help temporarily, they have Senior Care Aides on each floor who can assist them in anything they need. They also know who all their residents are and if they don’t see them they will call their phone. If they don’t answer the phone, they will go to the apartment to check up on them. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing there is always someone there when needed. My dad really likes all the staff there as do we! He has also made a ton of new friends. They have so many activities every week that are ran by some of the best people ever. I have come to know Pam and Cindy. They do different activities with the residents daily. They are the sweetest and so funny. Cindy is always entertaining the residents during cocktail hour when they have live music. The residence get a huge kick out of her! Pam teaches line dancing and has exercise classes for them. It’s always so cute to see the residence get up and do the dances that they learned. Then there is a lady named, Angel, who runs the cafeteria. She is an absolute doll! I love her to pieces! She had helped make a bad situation funny when we first got there. I appreciate her so much! So, if any person is ever looking for a place for their loved one to move to that is in a safe environment ran by the most amazing staff, look no further! I promise you that you won’t regret it. If I was ever looking for a job, I would apply there. I see the amazing staff they have.. Even one of the maintenance guys named, Mark, is great! Absolutely love Colonial Heights senior living. We moved my mother there in August 2023. She stayed there and when she needed more care we moved her into their Gardens section, then into their memory care. She just recently passed away. Everyone we encountered there, staff and residents were wonderful. Special shout out to Lavonne, Cathy and Jessica. Their prices are reasonable compared to other places . If and when I need to move into an assisted living place it would be Colonial Heights.

Mom was extremely reluctant to leave her home but with the professional help and support from Jennie, we were able to get Mom moved into Independent Living, 5 months ago. Jennie treated us to a meal and allowed us to participate in activities before we even signed a contract. Colonial Heights is a warm feeling place that values Family. My grandkids and I visit frequently. We always feel welcome! We love the folks there along with all the workers. I like how they call Mom by her name.

We just moved my mother-in-law in 3 days ago who is a diabetic. It was a process on us as 1st timers as we had tones of questions. We were very happy for the patients that Jennie gave us with all our questions and follow up visits to make sure we were choosing the right place. During our intake process, the nurse Kristie, was very informative and explained the medication process. We are only 3 days in, but 100% satisfied so far. Every staff member we have met so far which is only a few have been wonderful. As I was moving things in, I met a house cleaner, I believe her name was Maryia on the elevator. She explained what she does and when she would be in the room to clean. If you are looking for an assisted living or independent living facility without upcharges, this is the right place.

We are new to Colonial Heights, or I should say my mom is a new resident. We can't say enough about the courtesies, patience, guidance and support we were given through the process of moving my mom to Colonial Heights. We look forward to my mom having a safe, caring, loving, kind place and community and team of caregivers. The peace and relief we have experienced is amazing! A special shout out to Jennie and the nurse, Kristie, for their personal support and guidance. Truly amazing ladies. Every staff member we have met so far have been very nice and helpful. We are just starting our journey at Colonial Heights, but feel confident that we picked the best place for my mom.

They say that Disney World is he happiest place but I would argue the after touring Colonial Heights, looking for a place for our mother, it truly is one of the friendliest, happiest, cleanest places we’ve ever seen. From the moment you enter their facility you are greeting with such kindness not just from employees there but from all the residents too which made our decision for our mom one of easiest. Mom’s new chapter will begin in the coming days and my siblings and I are so excited for all the new adventures and friends she will have. Hats off to all at Colonial Heights for making his so easy for us and welcoming our mothers with BIG open arms!

The facility is clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. The apartments feel comfortable and private, and the common areas are bright and inviting. The staff are my favorite part. They are friendly, professional, and attentive. They treat residents with respect and are always available to help when needed. Residents stay very active and social through group activities and shared spaces, creating a strong sense of community. The dining options are delicious, varied and well-prepared. Overall, this facility provides a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment !

I did so much research on all senior communities in Northern Kentucky for my brother. Hands down, Colonial Heights provided a beautiful facility, grounds along with amazing amenities. It was the best. In particular, Jennie was wonderful to work with and made the transition smooth as it is always difficult for individuals to move from their home. I highly recommend!

My mother lives at Colonial Heights for almost 2 years. Since new ownership has taken over tie food selection has declined, the rent continues to increase however amenities that she had initially are slowly disappearing such a transportation and proper snow and ice removal. Many of the residents are a fall risk & it seems the grounds are not well maintained nor safe. I even slipped a few times delivering groceries to my Mom. Most of the staff are friendly & helpful. I appreciate the well checks. My mom does like her apartment. Unfortunately when large cooperations that are out of state buys out senior communities the attentiveness to the residents seems to be an afterthought.

Colonial Heights is a beautiful, resident-oriented community. They offer a variety of social activities throughout the day! They have common areas that are roomy and areas on the floors for private conversations. The apartments are spacious. And, I have worked with Colonial Heights as a Home Health Care nurse for years, and I continue to refer friends and family to their Community.

I have been here for a little over a year. I have a very pleasant apartment with plenty of space and everything I need. The reason I chose this place after seeing many others, is that you do not have to "buy in". You pay your monthly rent each month. There are fun activities which you can particpate in or not as you choose. There are wonderful church services that you can attend if you choose. The place is decorated beautifully for each season and planned trips to go shopping. A calendar is provided each month to show what activies are available and when. My recommendation is come vist and make the wise decision to join us. You will makes a lot of new friends in a hurry as I have.

My husband and I have lived at Colonial Heights for almost five years. It has been such a positive experience. All the activities, social events, exercise classes and interaction with other residents has been so beneficial to our health and wellbeing. The entire Staff is so kind, caring and ready to help each resident in anyway that is needed. I have heard residents say that they are so happy to be here and are happier than they have ever been. There is always something to do and someone to talk to and visit with. It is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Many years ago I saw an ad in a Senior magazine that said, Colonial Heights is the best kept secret in Northern Kentucky. That is definitely true. We are family here and really care for each other. It is a great place to be.

I want to thank the terrific staff and the other residents at Colonial Heights for making our mom's time spent there special. After visiting 5 Independent Living Facilities in Boone County and narrowing it down to 3, mom decided to move into one that was a fancy looking place. Unfortunately, from the start there were a lot of empty promises and mom was always on edge for many reasons - so we moved her instead to Colonial Heights 30 days later. What a totally different experience! Mom immediately joined the choir, went to the Catholic services on Sundays, attended many of the special guest events during the week, and participated in various craft events. Mom was with her people in a place that felt like home again and she built a friend network. In addition to that, the staff was incredible and cared for her during her 7 month stay - we wish she were still alive, but God had other plans for her. If you are looking for an Independent Living Community with the ability to move to Memory Care if necessary - and add additional services as needed by qualified affiliate providers - then Colonial Heights Senior Living is the right place for your loved ones. Please DO NOT make the mistake of making a rash decision and getting sold an empty bag of promises at a fancy facility that is just trying to make a buck off of you during a time when it is hard to know what is the right place for your loved one. Do your homework and talk to the staff and residents, and definitely have your loved one visit all of the final contenders before you sign the contract. The staff at Colonial Heights were never pushy and were totally helpful and transparent with everything with mom from the start. Plus the facility provided a safe place for our mom where she felt loved and cared for. Thank you Colonial Heights!

This place is no more than Gods waiting room. The food is absolutely inedible. The food handling is questionable, physical plant is in poor repair. The activities are awful and just don’t happen many times. This is not the place for anyone. The people are just waiting to die. Very low rent.

Out of all the communities popping up in the Northern Kentucky area, Colonial Heights and Gardens is the best! Their staff has been there forever and have low turnover, which is unheard of in senior living. There is an abundance of activities, great food, entertainment and friendliness! The apartments are huge and some have patios so you can enjoy the outdoors without leaving your apartment. They've been in Florence for over 35 years, they know senior living!

My Great-aunt is living at the Gardens. We have found the bldg clean, staff friendly and helpful, and my aunt has settled in very nicely. She is involved in tha activities and is doing better than living on her own.

I love this independent living facility. It isn't the most updated, but the people are so great - both residents and employees. Lots of planned activity, a bus that takes you places......my mother in law loved her 2 bdrm apartment.
