My parents lived in the independent living community at Aston Gardens for about six years, and our family will always be grateful for what this place became for them. We live more than 500 miles away, which is a very specific kind of ache. It is loving people deeply from too far down the road. It is calling and visiting and worrying, trying to hear in someone’s voice whether they are really okay, and hoping there are good people nearby when you cannot be. At Aston Gardens, there were good people nearby. There were afternoons sitting under the gazebo near the lake, watching the water catch the light while the day slowed down around us. There were walks down to the dog park, neighbors waving along the way, small conversations in the sunshine, and the ordinary music of a place where people know each other. There were meals, hallway hellos, visits with other residents, and the kind of daily familiarity that turns a large building into a village. But what stands out most to me are the people. Lori, the first person we met from sales back in 2020 was wonderful, not just during the move-in process, but for years afterward. She continued to answer questions and help our family understand things long after the paperwork was done. That mattered. Jocelyn, the resident director, also made a real difference for our family. When you are far away from aging parents, you remember the people who are steady, kind, practical, and responsive. Jocelyn was one of those people. The security team deserves special mention too. They were part of the quiet safety net around my parents. The people who noticed things. The people who helped. The people who made us feel a little less helpless from 500 miles away. And I will never forget that when we had a death in the family, someone from the front desk helped my parents get on Zoom so they could participate in the memorial. That may sound like a small thing unless you understand what it means to be older, far from family, and still able to be included in a moment that mattered. That was not just technical help. That was kindness. For my mom and dad, Aston Gardens was not just a place to live. It became a community. Growing older is tender and complicated, and what every family hopes for is that their people will be seen. Not managed. Not processed. Seen. My parents were seen there. They were known on the easy days, when life still had its routines and pleasures, and they were cared about on the harder days too, when things became more fragile and more tender. That kind of ordinary kindness is its own form of magic. Someone remembering your name. Someone checking in. Someone saving you a seat. Someone helping you join a family gathering on a screen when grief has made the miles feel even longer. That is what Aston Gardens gave our family for six years: independence, community, companionship, and care. A place where my parents had a life of their own, and where the people around them acted, in so many ways, like family. We will always be grateful.

Gio in sales was the reason mom fell in love with AG and ultimately made the decision to make the move from MO. He laid everything out so clearly and made it less stressful for her and she was confident in getting help. Once she moved, he came to welcome her and check on her which made her feel safe and welcome. My other mom was so excited to hear all of this that she is actually making the move here as well from MN. They will live in the same building.

I have been communicating with Robyn Pipher for quite a while to find a place in assisted living and get settled in. She was extremely helpful and I became convinced this was a good place for me. I had horrible experiences with the movers and had to rent a bed until hopefully my household goods are delivered. She was very helpful in getting a bed rented and delivered and went out of her way to get the basics and a table and chair for me. I arrived after closing time dir to traffic accidents on the infamous I-4 but Robyn had everything greased and my late move-in went well. The care staff embraced me quickly and made me feel at home. Today, my first day, was pleasant, the food was good and the care, nursing, kitchen and activities staffs made me feel at home. Onward and upward!!

My children and I looked at a dozen different places before we came across Aston Gardens. I knew instantly upon entering the main building (The Clubhouse} that this was where I wanted to be! A truly independent living facility. Apartments are more spacious than in most other places with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in every unit. Choices of many activities and outings with frequently scheduled rides for residents to shops in the area. Even a golf cart ride to The Clubhouse if you choose. The staff here is just wonderful and eager to help with any needs we may have. I have been here for 2 years now and love the many new friends I have. There are so many interesting and welcoming people at Aston gardens. I am so happy that I made the decision to downsize. I do not miss my large home at all. Come take a look. The grounds here are beautiful and every unit has a screened lanai.

Staff are kind and attentive. Maintenance, activity, concierge, wait staff, security and drivers. Administrators and supervisors not as good as rank and file. 5 stars. Food is inconsistent, often running out of basic items, meat quality varies from very good to mediocre, fresh fruit is generally very good, but often unripe. Soups and desserts generally very good to excellent. Portion control is inconsistent. Definitely not restaurant quality, more like cafeteria quality. 3-4 stars . Infrastructure needs serious help, especially elevators, which frequently go out for days or weeks at a time, electric doors, air conditioning and heat in clubhouse. 2 stars.

We have had a wonderful experience with Aston Gardens thus far. We have toured several independent living facilities and Aston Gardens was the most impressive. The staff are incredibly kind, patient and attentive to their residents. It took us a long time to make a decision on where our mom should reside and Aston Gardens was the one she felt most at home. Robyn, Brenden and Bradley are incredible people. They are so patient and kind. They take time to get to know potential residents, and go out of their way to make sure that all their needs are met. We visited on multiple occasions and were never pressured to make a decision. We felt listened to every time we visited- they made every effort to come up with viable solutions for any concerns we had. They are truly one of a kind! A special shout out to Robyn who always had a smile on her face and was always warm and embracing. She does her job perfectly! You couldn’t ask for a better representative of the community! Making the decision to move a loved one into an independent or assisted living home is probably the toughest decision one will make. I initially reached out to Aston Gardens about my dad a few months ago and right from the start they were more helpful than I could’ve asked for. I initially spoke with Robyn and throughout the past few months she has checked in with me to see how my dad is feeling about coming to tour Aston Gardens. Since he is out of state I had to choose a time that he was coming for a visit. When he arrived, she immediately made an appointment for us to tour. My dad was very nervous to make the decision to see the place, but when we walked in he lit up. Aston Gardens is the most welcoming and warm place we have toured. We truly felt like family and felt supported during this time. Robyn truly has a way with people. I believe my dad’s favorite phrase from her was, I really try to not use the word no. We will work with you in whatever way we can. Nothing is impossible. When it comes time for you to make this tough decision I promise you, you will not regret meeting with Robyn and touring Aston Gardens. The people are friendly and genuinely happy there Not only the people working there but all of the tenants that have made the big decision to move there. I am so thankful for Aston Gardens. My aunt and uncle live at Aston Gardens Westchase and were fairly content with their living situation until a woman moved in who took over the pool area and blasted loud music, and when asked to turn it down, she would not respect their wishes and she was quite rude to them, just downright mean. When my aunt and uncle complained to the director of Aston Gardens about the loud music, they did nothing. When a business such as theirs is raising rents 8-10% a year, one would think they would hire staff that could control loud, boisterous and disrespectful residents who ruin the quiet enjoyment of other residents trying to live a nice life at Aston Gardens Westchase. My aunt and uncle are not the only people who’ve had a bad experience at the current director’s lack of ability to confront the utterly unruly woman who is causing so many disruptions to residents being able to have an enjoyable, peaceful life.

We had a great experience at Aston Gardens Assisted Living and I highly recommend it for anyone needing more care for your loved one. My mom needed extra assistance pre and post op for knee surgery. She was able to stay short term, which really made a difference in her recovery. The facility is updated and has a homelike feel; the staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating; and the food was amazing. We will definitely consider going back if the situation arises.

My husband Gordon and I were extremely impressed with Aston Gardens and are making plans to move there in a year or so. We favor The Manchester Apartment, which is the largest and most luxurious apartment that I have seen in Tampa, but many of the other apartments are also very nice. I particularly liked the small patios connected to each apartment. Furthermore, the grounds of Aston Gardens are all very well-kept. The swimming pool area is beautiful. The food is surprisingly good. But, most important of all, the people we met were so gracious and helpful. We were particularly impressed with Robyn Bard, who answered all of our questions in a candid and straightforward manner and served as a delightful guide to show us all the benefits of Aston Gardens. She is a marvelous asset to the Aston Gardens Community.

After 8 years as a resident no flowers or Aston Gardens representative came to my father’s local funeral service. And to top things off they let a medical supply company in my fathers apartment after he passed away only to steal my father’s belongings. No response from Aston Gardens regarding this. My Mom has lived at Aston gardens for three years and the place has declined in service. Dining room has become a buffet self serve instead of waiters taking your order no more cloth tablecloths. . She had Jewelry stolen out of her apt by the cleaning staff no one else has gone into her place. No help from security that’s not their job. She was told their job is to help if you fall and press button. Beware of your valuables when the cleaning people are there. Just a word of warning.

I cannot say enough good thinks about Aston Gardens Tampa. My parents moved into the independent living facility many years ago. Their experience was terrific. They met many new friends and enjoyed many activities. Transportation to malls, doctors, grocery, church was provided which enabled them to gradually give up driving when the time was right. They graduated to the Inn at Aston Gardens (Assisted Living/Memory Care) as their needs progressed. They, too, loved their experience there. I was able to switch their primary physician to Dr. Berland “ who makes house calls so no arduous trips for them to the doctor. Lorena, who runs this area, has a phenomenal team. The nurses, Cindy and Donna, are terrific “ they kept me updated on everything. My parents looked forward to the excellent food provided by the chef “ wish he was at my house. Eugene, the handyman, assisted with moves, making sure every room became a comfortable home. The day-to-day staff was caring and my parents really loved and appreciated them. I saw them doing things beyond the call of duty to brighten the resident’s day. Sadly, both of my parents passed away in 2020 from natural causes but the staff at the Assisted Living facility made my parent’s final years happy. They were like a family to my parents. When my time comes, I hope that I can find a place as wonderful as this.

From the start, Robyn Bard was on top of every detail. Robyn made calls to facilitate almost everything I had forgotten or never could get to.
