We took Dad there when he needed more than Assisted Living. We were immediately impressed with the facility and staff. During the ten months he was there, we were consistently impressed with the meals, the building, care-givers who truly cared about Dad and the other residents. Dad was only agitated a few times in his new circumstances. His medicine and health were duly monitored. At last he qualified for hospice care and a team came to AltaVita, providing care and valuable information for us. We will never forget the good people who did all they or we could for Romaine.

Two+ years ago when my dad started to show signs of significant memory loss I knew I needed to at least start looking at memory care facilities, and start entertaining the idea of one day, some day he might need to move. He wasn't ready then, and neither was I. It's a HUGE decision to contemplate but when I met with Adam Santistevan and toured AltaVita I felt like it could be a good a fit. The facility is bright, they have amazing activities, the rooms are studio-sized but private, and the staff is super nice and helpful. Fast forward until late last year, when the writing was on the wall, and my Dad was struggling mightily to live on his own, and take care of himself. He was easily confused and the measures I had put in place to help keep him in his home as long as possible were just not working any longer. So back to AltaVita I went. Again, Adam gave me a tour. Again, Adam answered every question I had. Again, I liked the place. It felt good. And, although I was majorly concerned that my Dad would hate it (he was used to living alone, and taking care of himself, and is a bit of a curmudgeon) I could see him there. I could see him thriving. Fingers crossed anyway. I was then faced with a choice. AltaVita had a room that would be open in mid-December. Should I take it, and move Dad in just before the holidays, or roll the dice, and wait for January when it was more convenient, knowing there was no guarantee that a room would be available? Thank goodness I decided to take the room. Thank goodness I thought about what was best for my Dad, and realized that waiting was all about me. Dad needed to move. It was the exact right time. It wasn't easy, in fact it was super stressful, but it was more stressful knowing he was alone, and wandering around his house, and calling me every 5 minutes trying to figure out how to make coffee, or because he couldn't find his car keys (he had already lost his driving privileges) again. I worried about him 24/7. Every time the phone rang I would brace not knowing what issue, or dilemma, or situation he was struggling with. In moving Dad to AltaVita, I went from constantly worrying about him to knowing he is safe, and that his needs are met. I now have a team to help. His care isn't all on me any longer. And you know what? He is thriving. Who knew?! As I said, I thought the transition was going to be rough. I thought he would be miserable. But he isn't. He loves it. Sure, he needed to get used to it, and sure it is different, but he is happy. He LOVES the activities - especially the music, and art therapy they offer. He loves the variety of therapy dogs who visit weekly. He loves the food. He loves the staff. He loves the fish tank. He loves that he lives so close to me now, and that I visit regularly. AltaVita has been the best decision I could have made for my Dad, and I am so very grateful. He has found a new home.

i used to work here, management never leaves their office despite what they tell new residents families. residents were well taken care of on morning shift but left soaked and neglected on other shifts. i enjoyed working here had it not been for the animosity between higher ups and those actually on the floor. i would constantly bring to managements attention about residents who needed extra help or violent residents and they just swept it under the rug or would ignore my complaints because "it wasnt bad enough". i had a resident rip my ear open and management gave me a qtip to clean the blood and that's all. i wrote down every OSHA violation over the course of the year i worked there and i have about two and a half pages worth. if they ever get new management this would be the place to send your family members. until then, i wouldn't trust it

I work as an outside partner for Alta Vita. I find that the management truly cares for their employees and they provide an excellent work environment. The staff demonstrates excellent care and attention to the residents, like family would. Building is very clean and well maintained. Activities program is flourishing and they even have a resident choir. If I ever need memory care for a family member Alta Vita would be first on my list.

Great community with a fabulous leadership team! I've been working in senior care for the last 12 years and work closely with many senior living communities all over Northern Colorado. I can confidently say that the leadership team at AltaVita stands out in all the best ways. Adam is always working hard to ensure that the community is engaged with residents and families. He is always very friendly and professional. Tabitha works relentlessly to ensure the care needs of every resident are met and exceeded. Linda is always engaging and willing to discuss ideas to support the residents and their families. There are many communities I go to where the leadership team is behind closed doors and unwilling to engage - this is not the case at AltaVita and it's refreshing! I always look forward to my visits at AltaVita and excited to support their efforts!!! His experience really shines through when difficult situations are handled adeptly. This is a privately owned community where a loved one won't get lost in the shuffle. I would like to share my experience with AltaVita. While making the choice to take a loved one to a facility that can better care for them than themselves or even you at that matter is NEVER easy, Adam, Tabitha, and team were wonderful from start to move in to still today! I looked at a few places looking for the best experiences, amenities, and various other items. AltaVita meet or exceeded all our expectations. My father who of course did not want to go at all now 3 weeks in is settling in and is now saying hes happy. Its never easy to be the person giving up control, but the team has made his transition as easy as you could have asked. As he is getting to know all the other residents, he's becoming more social and it's great to see. The way the staff interacts with him is AMAZING! I would say because AltaVita is not the cheapest(no way the most expensive so don't get worried) they pay and treat their staff well as you can tell by how the staff enjoys there job and how they treat the residents. There were places we went where no one was happy and you could tell they employees lived there frustration on the residents. this is not the case here. They all know my dad by his PREFERED name not just his name on a chart, they talk to him EVERY time he walks by, not just hi but "oh i see yer son is back, what cha doing today?" so they all also know me.... just the things you don't really expect to see. Its Clean, Bright, well maintained, and has a great layout. The meals are pretty darn good and there is lots of verity. They are also accommodating in that my dad was unhappy with the "standard" breakfast offerings (no he's not spoiled lol) and the ladies make him 2 eggs sunny side up, 2 sausage and toast most days as that's what he likes!. THATS cool!!! My father is still at a point where he can remember most things and most interactions. He has not spoken of a single bad interaction, neglect, abuse, under sized portions.... Nothing and he would tell me I'm there every few days. With in the few weeks the entire staff knows me and knows ill be up their behind if ANYTING happens. I saw some people complaining in reviews but I have seen ZERO evidence of ANY of it. As a side note I know a nursing director who is a very close family friend so a trusted person who worked at MANY care facilities before becoming a director(so cool for her!) and this was by far the best place and her own mother in law was in process of going when she passed early. If I see care change you can bet I will update this review! Thanks again Adam and all the staff that treats my dad GREAT!

My father lived at AltaVita Memory Care Centre for six years. The management and staff took time to get to know him as an individual, and were accommodating to his needs whenever possible. For example, one staff member took him fishing while he was still able, while another took him to get fried chicken right up to the end of his life. Several staff developed a close relationship with him, showing him he was valued as a part of the community. My father was treated with compassion and dignity by all the professionals he encountered. There were times when things went wrong with his care, as can happen. In these instances, management and staff responded quickly to rectify the situation--or brainstormed with me on options to change a certain situation. As a family member, I was kept informed of my father's care and offered support throughout his experience. While it's difficult to admit a parent to memory care, AltaVita Memory Care Centre, and the people who work there, made the decision easier to accept. Although my father didn't take advantage of the myriad activities offered to residents, the staff and volunteers running those activities were outstanding. Perhaps most importantly, AltaVita is privately owned (not a regional or national chain). Its ownership and policies have enabled leadership to retain quality staff for long periods of time. At least 10 staff members were there for the entirety of my father's stay. As someone with a good understanding of senior care facilities, I know this consistency of care within a memory care community is uncommon and, in this case, was critical to my father's relative happiness and my peace of mind. Of course every experience and journey with a parent through dementia care is unique, but ours was very positive because of the quality care and attention offered by AltaVita Memory Care Centre.

I have been in and out of many other communities and none have been able to beat AltaVita. The locally and privately owned care moves through the building from management to the caregivers and the families. Every one here loves and cares for the residents as their own. It's such an amazing place to be! Honestly I would love to have my mother or grandmother in a community like this where love is shown daily!
