My grandma has really blossomed since moving into this care center! It is evident how well the staff care for their residents. She had lived at a different facility for a few years, and she is so much happier at Western Slope Memory Care. She participates in activities, goes on outings, and enjoys the time. When we visited her, I loved seeing the photos of the residents displayed on the TV. It was fun to pick out Grandma! Both days, when we stopped to take her out for lunch, we were greeted by a friendly staff member named Kyleton. He was very welcoming, kind, and professional! I wish I could visit my grandma more often, but we live far out of state. I have, however, been delighted to have called and spoken with her on special occasions. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of my grandma! We look forward to seeing you all again on our next visit!

Western Slope Memory Care gave us our mother back. I don't know how else to say it. She came to WSMC from another facility where she had all but disappeared into herself. Sleeping 18+ hours a day, no smiles, no jokes, barely a word when we called. Watching someone you love fade like that is a particular kind of grief ” and we were living it. What happened after her move was something we hadn't dared hope for. Her very first morning at Western Slope, something had already shifted. In the short time she has been there, we've already watched her come back to life. She's joined activities. She walks faster. She laughs. She teases us. She talks about how beautiful the facility is and how kind everyone is. These are things we had not seen or heard from her in close to two years. The staff here are the real story. Every single person ” without exception ” has been warm, patient, and genuinely caring, not just toward our mother, but toward our whole family as we navigated what was a deeply emotional transition. You can feel that this isn't just a job to them. If you are struggling to find the right memory care for someone you love, I hope our experience gives you hope. Western Slope was the answer for our family, and we are so deeply thankful.

My mother moved into Western Slope Memory Care in April and I cannot say enough great things about the facility and staff! We toured several facilities in the Grand Valley in the Spring and what was scheduled as a 30-minute tour turned into an almost two hour visit with Lucretia. Lucretia took the time to really get to know us and my mother. In addition, she shared so much information to really help us understand what my mother is going through and how to make her life better. At that point, Western Slope was at the top of our list. The entire move-in process went extremely well and Stefanie was (and continues to be) wonderful to work with. In the early and sometimes challenging transition days Stefanie and the entire care team kept the faith and helped us through every step of the way. I cannot overstate how much respect and appreciation I have for the entire care team that works tirelessly day and night to care for every resident. They truly care about the residents and treat them like family. All of the staff at Western Slope is part of the daily care program, from PJ and the rest of the dining services team, who not only prepare great meals but really roll up their sleeves to take care of the residents, to Reina who plans wonderful and creative activities every single day. There is always something fun to do! Kyle masterfully coordinates the front desk and concierge services (and does so much more!) and Sean goes above and beyond maintenance activities to really get to know and care for residents. Western Slope Memory Care is a wonderful care facility! There is a culture of excellence at every level which is evidence of great leadership and hiring exceptional people. The wonderful people working with the residents day to day are a special group. We appreciate them so much and my mother is truly happy at Western Slope.

Western Slope Memory is a marvelous place. Everyone from the CEO to House Keeping to Culinary knew Bob’s name the moment we walked in. They made eye contact and greeted us like we were old friends. Everyone helps whether it’d be someone that feels lost to getting them to lunch or dinner. Residents are highly encouraged to participate in the many daily activities as there is a concerted effort to not just leave them in their room by themselves. The surroundings feel like a fine hotel or motel and the food is delicious. I feel grateful and comforted about the attention and care that is given at Western Slope Memory throughout this difficult time for both me and my husband. I would highly recommend Western Slope Memory to anyone looking for care for their loved one.

My mother in law has been a resident for the last year and a half. The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable about Alzheimer’s and care. The place is well managed with safety and care as its priority. The dining room serves healthy tasty food. We enjoy our family conferences with Heidi. Kyle at the front desk is warm and friendly and keeps an eye on Elle. We also see many activities for the residents. A huge shout out to all the CNAs and nursing staff for their hard work.

The people at Western Slope Memory Care take excellent care of my mother. From the concierge to the executive director to the business manager to the nurses to the helpers to the kitchen staff to the maintenance staff! Everyone seems to be 100% on board for the mission of providing quality care for people with Alzheimer's. Every time I go visit my mother, the staff knows exactly where she is, and are able to tell me everything that she's done that day. They are responsive to any concerns that I raise, and a complete joy to work with.

I researched almost all of the memory care facilities in the grand Valley before deciding to place my mother at Western Slope Memory Care. The facility is small enough to accommodate the residents with a well balanced ratio of employees to clients. The facility is clean and has amenities such as bathing tubs, a beauty parlor, a movie viewing area, outdoor places where people can go to walk around. Activities are provided throughout the week for clients that are interested. The food is excellent and served in the right proportions. My mother prefers food in small bites and the staff always make sure food is cut into small pieces.Each staff member no matter their title, are all involved with the care and consideration given to each patient. New furniture and beautiful furnishings make for a very comfortable home away from home. My thanks to everyone who makes this such a comfortable experience.

Western Slope Memory Center has provided excellent care for my sister. The Center is always very clean and the caretakers are kind and friendly. The Activity Center is cheerfully decorated for every occasion. Activities include a wide range of art, music, stretching, dance and brain- stimulating games. I hadn't seen my sister in 3 mos. She had deteriorated significantly in a short period of time and I was overcome with emotion. The staff couldn't have been more supportive. Stephanie spoke to me, comforted me, and helped me to overcome my sadness. The staff members are welcoming, kind, caring, and informative. You are always greeted with a smile and "hello". I only have great things to say about WSMC. The extra level care they display at all times was evident from my very first phone call with the Executive Director, Sarah, when trying to find immediate and unanticipated placement for my mom. My mom had an especially hard time adjusting to needing care, but after only a few weeks, WSMC had her settled and they make every effort to keep her comfortable and busy. A very special thank-you to Lucretia at the front desk, who goes above and beyond to keep my high-functioning mom busy and feeling appreciated. I feel like I’ve found family at WSMC, which is a major sense of comfort and relief when I’m unable to provide the level of care and attention she needs.

My wife and I have been visiting the Western Slope Memory Care Center a couple times a month for the last two years to play music for the residents. We travel to several facilities around Grand Junction and from what we have observed WSMC is one of the top providers. Angela, Mary, Susan and the rest of the staff are watchful and vigilant treating the residents with patience and tenderness. It is apparent they strive to provide all their residents with the best life possible.

We are so thankful and relieved that we moved Dad to Western Slope Memory Care (WSMC). The staff work tirelessly to ensure that his needs are met, and we have appreciated the open communication with staff and leadership. I love hearing from them about how my father has been doing, what sorts of mischief he has gotten into, hearing stories about his day-to-day routine, etc. I will note that several times I have visited and his hygiene was a little lacking. This is likely because he does at times refuse assistance for perhaps no other reason than to maintain a sense of agency, and it is probably because of that. I will also note that a family member of one of the other residents has displayed open hostility towards my father. That has been very frustrating for our family as there is not much really that can be done in this case. A facility like this cannot simply kick out a resident because of an ornery family member. I personally have felt very supported by staff through this situation, and understand that they are doing what they can to ensure the mental, emotional, and physical safety of my father. They care about him, and that is apparent. Although I don't have extensive experience with other memory care facilities in the area, I have understood through numerous conversations with folks external to WSMC that it is among the best homes in the area. While other homes in the area have been known to struggle with monitoring their residents to ensure safety, WSMC does not appear to have that issue by any stretch. Staff are very well acquainted with the individual needs of each resident and keep a close eye on them to ensure their physical safety. I highly recommend Western Slope Memory Care.

My family loves this place. They are taking the best care I could ever ask for for my dad..- When my dad first got there he was struggling and they worked with them and helped him and now he's enjoying his days even more than before. The nurses and care team take such good care of my dad And make sure that he is safe and make sure that he is taking care of and all his needs are met.. If you are considering this facility, please do an extensive review. There is no monitoring system here as advertised on their website. Even after meeting with a person from a CA location, he had no idea what the facility actually had. If your loved one requires medication in a timely manner, this is not your location. Your loved ones clothes may or may not be returned to them. Often times clothes came up missing with no attempt to return. Other tenants laundry was given to your loved one.There are some really nice people working there, but the management is just not up to par to handle situations.
