I have been there weekly for a year to visit a couple, one of which is a resident. When there is a concern they are exceptionally responsive. They are well staffed with trained and certified supervisors. The entire team is attentive and kind to the residents. They schedule many regular and special activities, to provide as normal an atmosphere as possible for those who need the support.

My husband, 72, has been at Silverado for over a year and a half. It is naturally extremely difficult for me and my family. The staff, from caregivers to nurses to maintenance to administrators to the kitchen workers and the front desk are so kind and well trained in how to interact with residents. They provide a safe and loving environment. My family did a lot of research to find the best setting possible for our loved one. We are grateful for all that Silverado provides.

Professional and compassionate. Highly competent and caring. I needed to find the very best place to care for my dear wife when I was no longer able to. We both are so fortunate that my professional social workers, Erin and Carol, guided me to the St. Charles facility. The Silverado philosophy is an underlying foundation that guides the administrative staff with whom I have so much respect. They would be standouts anywhere, but they are unique in that they are memory care specialists and are drawn to helping and caring for people. My core support group there are Brittany (business manager, and practically anything else needed) Urszula and Wendy ( nursing) and Anna, master caregiver. Along with her neurologist, Dr. Grujic, this group has helped my wife become a happy and participating part of the community. They were sympathetic to me through my period of adjustment as my wife was going through hers. Long, sometimes late hour texts of questions, 2nd guessing, and 'my opinions' to Brittany and Urzula were treated patiently. I recall hearing 'trust the system' from them when times were tough. One special caregiver, Shakira,(they are ALL great and talented), took her under her wing and has helped us both along the way. I obviously highly recommend Silverado in St Charles if your path has brought you here. 11/6/25 Follow-up I would highly recommend Silverado in St St.Charles to anyone that has reached the decision point on memory care. I was fortunate to have access to two professional social workers at the time of my own decision, and they both recommended Silverado in St Charles. I am so thankful I followed that advice as after one year, my wife is thriving, happy, and considers Silverado her home now. The administrator Jill is excellent, and the management staff that I know well including Anna, Brittany, Corinne, Urszula, Violet, along with the caregivers who together, carry out the day to day operation, are caring, professional, and experienced. My wife is happy and content there, and as a result, my life is better as that is all I really hoped or could ask for.

Silverado Memory Care practices daily social activities, stress reduction exercises, physical exercises, cognitive exercises, and support groups for the residents. Families are encouraged to participate in the activities and meals with their loved one. There is a caregiver support group that meets regularly for family members as well as many social opportunities for families to join residents in fun. Residents circulate in the building and particularly enjoy the openly accessible snack kitchen contributing a truly home atmosphere to all. My husband has thrived in this environment to the point that his neurologist, this past week, remarked on the great improvement in his gait, cognitive ability to be in present moments to carry on conversations, and correct answers to successfully pass a quiz. We found Silverado when we were quite desperate. Mom had been bouncing between rehab and her assisted living, chasing imaginary thieves, robbers and even horses around the hallways all night long. We were sometimes spending 5 to 6 hours a day trying to calm her down. Then Mom was hospitalized and her assisted living informed us that she could not come back. We could not have been more lucky to have landed at Silverado. In fact, at first you might have helped us kids than you helped Mom because we went from phone calls all day and night to you simply saying we can handle it. And you did! Everyone there at Silverado taught us so much “ everyone from the aides and the nurses to the activities people to the kitchen and housekeeping staff. You taught us how to better interact with and help our mom so we could be her children again. We probably had more laughs during her year at Silverado than we had during the prior three years. We would even like to thank the other residents for providing even more laughs. The whole community made us feel like we were not alone in the dementia journey, and we learned ways to find the small lights of joy along the way. We thank you for your skills, your talents, your compassion and the way you treat everyone with such respect and dignity, especially when they are a little spicy or “ let’s face it, a lot spicy like our mom. We are more grateful than we can say for the support that you provided to our family.

Silverado is definitely a great memory care community, however, some of the staff are absolutely terrible. I do not completely trust Silverado due to this issue. There are two Caregivers in particular that really stood out - Tina and Kyara. These two caregivers are incredibly rude and obnoxious. Especially Tina, I don’t understand how she is still employed here. She is one of, if not, the worst Caregiver I have come across. It just seems as if both of these Caregivers are constantly yelling and degrading the residents, even in front of visitors and family members. I do not appreciate the way these two caregivers have treated my mom. Looking at their badges, I believe these two Caregivers are Leads as well? I’m not too sure what is the entire meaning behind their job title, but if they are considered leaders for all the Caregivers, then I definitely do not trust Silverado. If these kind of Caregivers are leads, then what more should we expect from the other Caregivers? I do not want my mom receiving care from a team who seem to follow under repulsive Caregivers like Tina and Kyara. Next off, it seems as though Tina is always on her phone as well. She doesn’t seem to care about the residents. I don’t understand why she would work as a Caregiver if she will not take part in engaging with our family. My assumption may be incorrect , but alongside providing care, I thought the Caregivers are supposed to interact with our family members? I find it very disrespectful that some of the Caregivers are on their phones while working instead of spending time with the residents. It does not seem like they are paying attention to our family. It isn’t necessarily an issue while I visit during the afternoon, but more during the morning. Don’t get me wrong, there are quite a few good Caregivers at Silverado, but I refuse to allow my mother to receive care from people who don’t seem be interested in doing their job. Overall, Silverado seems to be a relatively okay community. I just don’t trust some of the Caregivers here due to previous interactions. Silverado, you can do better.

Mom seems happy at Silverado, has made a lot of new friends, is in a safe environment and often engages in activities. There is good communication with the executive staff as to needs. We've gotten to know the caregivers who tend to mom on a regular basis and they are helpful and attentive. The Family Events such as Oktoberfest and Thanksgiving have been wonderful -- looking forward to the upcoming Holiday Decorating Party in Dec; all excellent opportunities to meet other families and engage with your loved one in a welcoming and fun setting -- and to enjoy some very good food!:)

Their attentiveness and caring was matched with expertise and skill. My Mom has been a resident in Silverado St. Charles since 6/24/24. Myself and my family could not be happier about her care. Every staff member from Jill the Administrator, clinical staff, to the receptionist have been supportive, professional, attentive and compassionate. All administrative communications, requests etc. have been handled swiftly and efficiently. I researched 7 other facilities these past 10 months and found Silverado checks all the boxes and has helped Mom adjust tremendously well. My husband entered Silverado St. Charles 5 months ago from a memory care facility that was unable to care for his level of stress and behavior. Silverado's care made a marked difference, he is now sleeping well and we are not receiving weekly calls asking us to help settle him. The staff is professional and personal. Residents are treated with kindness and respect. We have eaten meals with him several times and have always found the food to be delicious. The residents have many activities geared to their interests and abilities. We visit several times a week and have never come to find him sitting in his room. We enjoy the Bistro with him for a cup of coffee when we are visiting. Most of all, we appreciate the staff, their kindness and concern for each resident is evident.

My dad moved to Silverado 5 months ago from another facility that was struggling to meet his care needs. We are very happy with the care my dad is receiving here. Staff is very professional, caring, and nurturing, with a lot of communication. They have an upbeat, happy tone caring for Dad with love. From day one every staff member from the administrative staff, the CNAs and nurses, to the activities directors, and even the maintenance and janitorial staff, speak to him by name with respect. They have house pets including a dog, birds, and fish, giving it a nice homey feeling. Their daily activities are done at a variety of levels to accommodate all residents at their personal level, and they keep dad occupied with many activities daily. Meals are good food, prepared with personal dietary needs in mind. The chef met with us to ensure he knew my dad's likes and needs. They have separate areas where they can sit and listen to the radio or TV, and if the weather is nice, they can go and sit on the patio outside. We have never visited and found him in his room. Dad is very happy and feels settled at Silverado.

We moved my loved one to Silverado Memory Care 5 months ago after moving her out of another memory care facility that told us they were "not set up" for this kind of care. Our loved one has been diagnosed with 4 different forms of dementia, and while it's certainly not easy, Silverado's staff is FULLY trained to handle ANYTHING that comes their way. Their organization was founded by scientific research and development that can be seen throughout in this facility on a daily basis. From the administrative staff, to the CNAs and nurses, to the activities directors, and even the maintenance and janitorial staff, every staff member at Silverado genuinely cares for the residents and has made it their life mission to properly care for the people that reside there. My loved one had to move twice before finding the proper care she needed. I have toured many memory care facilities and have spoken with the directors of at least a dozen facilities across northern Illinois, and by far, Silverado offers the most comprehensive care plan for those suffering with memory loss or dementia. The entire team of doctors, geriatric specialists and nursing staff are fully trained in this type of care and management. Yes, Silverado is probably the most expensive of all the places we have been to, but the PROPER care of our loved one is what matters most, and the old adage "you get what you pay for" could not apply more in this particular case. While I'm not familiar with their basic or intermediate levels of care, I can highly recommend Silverado to anyone who is in need of advanced dementia care.

Silverado Memory Care is amazing! Silverado Memory Care came as a recommendation to me, Silverado reached out to me and understood my sense of urgency, they were happy to meet with me for a tour and discussing the process of the transition. This quick yet thoughtful connection helped ease my concerns and I was relieved to find a great place for my loved one. During the tour I was given detailed information on all aspects of care such as daily programs, meals, rooms, family involvement, medical care and advanced care once the time comes. I really appreciated their communication to me and reassurance of how the transition process would go, during my loved one’s initial days at Silverado they were great about updating me on the transition process. My loved one has been at Silverado for a little over 5 months now and during this time I have formed good relationships with the associates at Silverado, they are great at welcoming family members into the community. During this time I have learned about Silverado’s activities program that is science based to help with memory care, I strongly recommend an in depth conversation on the details and how it can e edit your lives one. The activities staff are great, they get to know each resident and learn their strengths and weaknesses and are truly an integral piece for my loved one’s care and comfort. My loved one has also received much needed therapies and I love that the therapists are onsite and have communicated with me on this process. I have enjoyed many of events at Silverado, I love that they host various events and invite family members, it is great so we can be with our loved ones. There is also many events available to support family members through this process, that is so great for the family. I also feel their Covid response is appropriate, it takes steps to protect residents but still allows for visiting in the appropriate manner. I feel so lucky to have found Silverado and have this community for my loved one and myself.

The administration team is phenomenal! The level of communication is top notch. There are regular care plan meetings and the team follows through with anything discussed. I have experienced many memory care communities. Silverado, St. Charles is the best by far. The best meals, the best leadership, the best philosophy and they truly follow that LOVE> fear. They embrace each individual for what they bring to the community, residents and associates alike. Silverado puts your money where it counts. You don't have the CNA serving food and fixing the air conditioner all in the same hour and then doing the dishes like other facilities. They have a separate culinary staff and each meal is so filling. A separate engagement dept. and a housekeeping dept. This gives the CNA and all the associates more quality time with each resident. Silverado has also been proactive on the Covid front. The leadership meets everyday to discuss how the community can be set up to make it better and safer for all. As far as memory care...this is the only place I would trust to take care of my loved one. Thank You , Silverado!

Silverado St. Charles is top of the line when it comes to dementia care. This is not just a community for those with memory care needs. There are over 400 types of dementia and Silverado trains their staff in a way to recognize and support these variances instead of training their team to ONLY manage the needs of those with Alzheimer's disease - this takes a lot of stress away from primary care givers and family members. We witness the staff gently redirecting our loved one, treating her with dignity, recognizing and celebrating who she was before the disease and who she is now, stimulating her mentally, and generally providing compassionate and loving care. This has a lot to do with the current administration in place and how strong the Silverado St. Charles care team is. The facility is new, beautiful, all on one floor (makes us feel good in case of emergencies), and a calm and peaceful place. Leadership is responsive and communicative with families and they did a great job of explaining their positions and thought behind COVID19 changes to processes and procedures. We as family members felt part of the solution and part of defining what the new normal is for our loved one. My family and I highly recommend Silverado St. Charles if you are looking for a safe and caring community for your loved one where they are respected and dignified.

Silverado St. Charles is a fantastic community with great caretakers and leadership. From the moment my sisters and I visited we knew this was the right place for our mom who has FTD. Our mom has been in four communities now and the Silverado St. Charles is by far the best. They are attentive, caring, clean and have done a great job keeping our family up to date since we can't visit during the COVID-19 pandemic. Leadership is very present and does a great job communicating with families. When looking for a memory care for my friend I knew it had to be top of the line. The first impression is it’s like a beautiful ski lodge. It also had to have good fun friendly and caring people as my friend can be a little feisty. From day one I have been so impressed with their ability to redirect her from having a bad day to a good one. This pandemic has been a testament to how well this facility is run, no cases of COVID and from what I’ve seen the residents are well taken care of and smiling. My only criticism was the food but they have taken care of that with a new chef! My friend has been there for 1-1/2 years.
