We faced a difficult situation with an aging parent living at home alone, one son living in Chicago and the other son (me) living out of state. We contacted Touching Hearts to provide support while we worked on a longer term plan. We had care for our parent three days as week at first and then gradually more days and more hours as time went on. The care was compassionate and loving. We got regular communication that let us know our loved one was in good hands. A typical week would be the caregiver coming to the house, taking our parent to the grocery store, fixing meals for them, and taking them for a walk around the neighborhood or to visit friends. We were thankful for the help and support in a very difficult time.

My father-in-law was able to stay at home for two years thanks to the outstanding care received through the Touching Hearts. The caregivers were wonderful. I can't say enough about John Cushing & touching hearts service. My dad psssed on 7/24 from Parkinson's & we had several months of the best care ever. As his needs changed they never wavered in getting new support in to make this as comfortable & peaceful as possible - beyond expectations . Every single one of the caregivers was a 10+ with experience & compassion ! We will never forget this. We were able to all be at peace that my dad went with dignity, respect & love from them all

Our first caregiver, Kasia, was very sweet and kind. She was just right for the relatively moderate amount of care my needed only a total of about 12 hours a week. Unfortunately my wife's ALS worsened rapidly and we needed to bring in someone 24/7 as soon as possible. We were sent Deborah, who made the last three weeks of my wife's life much more quiet and comfortable than we expected. I have never a caregiver that was so tender, gentle, kind and loving. I have no doubt at all that Deborah won the love and respect of our entire family after watching the way she treated my wife.

As my father aged his main goal was to remain in his home as long as possible. In order to help satisfy his request we knew it was time for 24/7 in-home help. We reached out to Touching Hearts and met with John. John assured us that they would be partners in the process and that he would find the best possible match for us. I found that to be spot-on If the match did not fit or we had other concerns he would find a suitable replacement. Over the course of 2 years we did request a few changes. John provided an immediate response and a new caregiver was provided. In the time we worked with Touching Hearts we were never left uncovered if one of the caregivers was ill or had a conflict. Communication was quick and the replacement provided. We reached a point where staying in the home was no longer possible but the transition provided by Touching Hearts provided us with the opportunity keep our dad in his house a few more years. John, Jeff and Sharon are extremely approachable and invested in their clients.

Can not say enough about the wonderful people at Touching Hearts. We had one parent home under hospice care and another with dementia. All of the ladies provided comfort, compassion, and friendship for our parents. During this difficult time we felt like our parents were in good hands. Touching Hearts at Home is a very compassionate caring giving company. I was so pleased with the quality of the caregivers they provided for my husband who had Alzheimer’s disease. I can't say enough good things about the quality of care my mother has received from Touching Hearts at Home. The caregivers are professional, warm and caring, providing transportation to the grocery store, doctors and the bank as well as doing laundry and other small chores. John Cushing is amazing. He has ensured that my mom has help when she needs it and his level of communication is above expectations. No matter what day I might email him, he always responds promptly. Shortly after my mother signed up for the service, John arranged to have the school choir from across the street sing Happy Birthday to her for her 96th birthday. The Touching Hearts Team brought kindness, high skill and utter trustworthiness to our elderly mother's care during her nine challenging months of advanced cancer. Diane is an absolute MVP with her compassion, diligence and amazing attention to detail. For example, she alerted the hospice team whenever one of my mom's many prescriptions was getting low. She also coordinated the hospice team's coming and going in the condo building during its renovation. Nadya (sp) was also lovely and quite conscientious. I just recently hired Touching Hearts to help care for my mom in the morning and evening. They have been wonderful to work with. The owners have been very responsive and accommodating especially with last minute changes. If someone cant be there, they work very hard to make sure the shift is covered and they have not missed a shift. My mom enjoys all of her care workers and says they are all so nice. They also have been able to provide all needed documentation for insurance submissions.

John Cushing and Touching Hearts literally came to our rescue with help caring for my mom who had broken both of her arms and needed help at home after being discharged from the rehab center. Being able to have live-in care (3 days, 4 days, etc.) for a shorter term of 2 1-2 weeks was a huge plus so that my mom could have the consistency of care and less caregivers during the COVID situation. Both of her caregivers were amazing, so caring and helpful and just all around great people!!! Having one of the owners (John) meet with us and being fully involved in coordinating my moms care was also so helpful and reassuring. We would highly recommend Touching Hearts to anyone who needs some extra help for their loved one or themselves.

Touching Hearts did an incredible job for my mother. Jeff, who is the owner, truly cares about your family member and you as the family. He provided us with so much information and was able to get our mother the service and care we needed within 24 hours. Jeff clearly has a highly skilled and caring staff which he pares up for your unique situation. Our mother needed a caretaker to stay with her 4 days a week, 24-7. We could not have been more impressed with Doreen who was so diligent to every need and situation my mother required after coming home from a rehabilitation center. My mother cannot say enough about Doreen as well. Touching hearts offered us a wide range of solutions from an hourly visit to the 24-7 care we ultimately chose for the 3 weeks our mom needed it. This was also very affordable which was comforting. I cannot imagine you will find a better team to work with for your needs.

They are passionate about their work and it shows with the quality of their caregivers. Jeff and John are flexible and have worked hard in finding the right caregivers for my mom.
