Reviews The Chelsea at Greenburgh
October 2024
I could not have had a better experience getting my parents moved in to The Chelsea. From the start, Francesca answered all my questions and guided me step by step with paperwork and procedure. Her compassion and understanding helped me get through a scary and stressful time. Since my parents have moved in, they have been treated with genuine care by all the staff. My parents are very happy with the extensive menu and dining options as well as the varied and engaging activities. I could not ask for a better environment for my parents to have the benefits of both amenities and health care while living in their beautiful, modern and sunny apartment. The Chelsea has provided excellent communication and attention to detail. I could not have chosen a better place for my parents.

My mother has been at The Chelsea for nearly three years, and for the last two years in the memory unit. We have had an extremely positive experience. The facility is incredibly well run, clean, safe and comfortable. More importantly, the leadership and staff seem to be fully vested in the care and well being of the members of their community and their compassion and concern is on display on a daily basis. My mother is safe, content and happy, which is the best review I could possibly give.

The Chelsea at Greenburgh is clearly a beautiful location, both inside and out. But what makes a place special are the people. Fortunately, both my Mom and I have been able to rely on Britney Gordon to treat her like family. Britney takes personal responsibility to care for my mom and helps in any way needed. I cannot count how many times she has gone above and beyond for us. When I think about what matters in choosing an assisted living facility, I can't think of anything more important than having someone like Britney. I will forever be grateful to The Chelsea for bringing Britney into our lives, and that alone deserves 5 stars.

I am a retired United States Marine and a retired New York City Police Officer, and I'm recommending the Chelsea over all the rest. The Director, Assistant Director, and their staff are all the most courteous, the most professional, and the most respectful. They are very attentive to each residents individuals needs which is extremely important. They are definitely the most transparent with everything that happens at the Chelsea. The Chelsea has many wonderful, exciting activities to stay busy all day. My favourite is the movie theater. The common areas, and personal rooms are so relaxing, beautiful and elegant. I have 3 friends there now, as well as my own mother, who are all having the times of their lives I even considered trying to move in. The warmth and positivity at the Chelsea is the best in all of Westchester County.

I did a lot of research on assisted living alternatives for my parents and ultimately decided on The Chelsea Greenburgh about 14 months ago. Mom is on the assisted living side and Dad is in the memory care unit. I believe that the entire staff, from the director to care-giving aides to administrative personnel, all have a genuine interest in the well-being of my parents. I am happy with my decision and feel confident they are safe and receiving high quality care.

This is the third memory care home that I have moved my friend into. The first two, despite being very expensive and "luxurious" allowed her to spend most of her time alone in bed, as well as to walk out of the facility unnoticed, putting her safety at risk. Since living at The Chelsea, she has become more vivacious, curious and happy - more herself - than I have seen her in years. The staff has found the right balance between encouraging her to participate in social activities and respecting her privacy and need for solitude. Having access to the lovely outdoor garden (without having to have an escort) has been miraculous. Having visited many facilities in my search to find a fit for my friend, The Chelsea is the only one that feels truly right. Her friends agree, and we are all so grateful. The staff is always friendly, caring and aware of what my friend needs, as well as who she is. The Chelsea has provided a loving home for my friend and a huge relief for me.

My father lives at the Chelsea at Greenburg, in the memory care unit, and I am so happy with the care he receives there. The staff is friendly, and treat my dad so well, he's always well cared for. I recommend it.
December 2023
Moving to assisted living is a tough decision for any family but the Chelsea was an excellent choice for my mom. She seems to have a new lease on life in this loving community. She is rarely in her room, always at one of the many activities, even new things like dominos and opera which she never had an interest in previously. She has also enjoyed excursions to museums and the library with her new friends. The in house rehab services through Fox are excellent and convenient. Most importantly the aides are kind and patient and provide excellent care.

We moved my maternal aunt (last of my mom's 5 sisters) into assisted living at the Chelsea in July. The warmth of the staff--everyone included, from the directors, aides, nurses, dining and janitorial crew--made for a pretty easy transition, and my aunt became a minor celebrity because of her sense of humor (at 96!). And while there is no perfect in healthcare, the Chelsea comes close, with attentive and caring staff, a beautiful facility (inside and out), and a very nice community of residents who have made my aunt feel welcome. I sleep better knowing that my aunt is in good hands, as they've demonstrated more than once. Bravo, Chelsea!

The Chelsea is a beautiful, modern assisted living facility in Greenburgh/ White Plains where my Mom lived. She had a beautiful apartment, which she loved. The staff at The Chelsea were very good to my Mom and I really appreciate all the care and comfort they provided her. They have tons of activities there and my mom's favorite was when a musical guest came in. She always joined in that activity and even danced with her walker. If you have a loved one in need of assisted living, I recommend The Chelsea wholeheartedly.

When touring assisted livings for my mother, The Chelsea was the clear winner. The facility is new and the common areas are so well done and lovely. The Chelsea apartments were the largest and nicest I toured. The food is very good! The staff is really nice and kind to my mom.

Only great things to say about the Chelsea -- it's a wonderful, caring community for our Dad! A happy, inclusive atmosphere and the staff is extremely friendly.
November 2023
My mother has been a resident at the Chelsea at Greenburgh for approximately 1 1/2 years now and here is my review: The facility itself is always clean and organized giving it a feel of a luxurious resort and keeping the "newness" feel intact. The administrative staff are always accessible and has had little turnover during our time there. The operational staff, which we've also noticed little turnover, are very caring, polite and overall a pleasure to deal with. Overall we are very satisfied with our mother's care and experience at the Chelsea at Greenburgh.
September 2023
My mother has been in the memory care unit of Chelsea for about 9 months. The facility is beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The staff are knowledgeable, kind and patient. My mother came from another assisted living in Florida and the Chelsea is far superior. From the start with Francesca to help with the admission to the administrators and aides, the staff are all wonderful. The Director of The Country Cottage (memory care), Monique is very understanding and helped make my mothers transition easier as well as being very communicative. It's difficult to place a loved one with dementia in a facility but my family has been very happy with The Chelsea at Greenburgh.
November 2022
Everything about The Chelsea at Greenburgh has been a wonderful experience thus far. They have provided Paul with all of his necessary services without interruption. The entire staff has made him feel welcome from the moment he arrived. The onboarding process with Francesca was seamless. She made the process very easy for us. The environment at the Chelsea at Greenburgh is always inviting, warm and friendly. The food services are excellent as well! The set up of the facility allows Paul to socialize and being there has improved his quality of life. I would highly recommend the Chelsea at Greenburgh for anyone looking for a facility for a loved one.
June 2022
As we move through the circle of life, we often realize that our loved ones may need some assistance to maintain a safe and enjoyable lifestyle. I highly recommend the beautiful Chelsea Assisted Living at White Plains to satisfy those needs. My dear friend moved into his lovely studio apartment at the Chelsea a few months ago. He felt welcomed and comfortable in his new residence. Dave has become quite popular quickly making friends with other residents and all the staff. It is amazing how the staff knows everyone by name. It's like a new extended family. He enjoys the social activities that he would not have been able to experience if he remained at home alone. Of course, the dining room menu is a topic of good conversation. As a health care professional, I was also very impressed with the immediate attention provided by the nursing staff to meet Dave's medical needs. I would like to thank Francesca Caira and the rest of the Chelsea staff for making this transition happen and providing us all with peace of mind.
February 2022
The Chelsea at Greenburgh has been a godsend for our family. This absolutely beautiful venue is such a welcoming haven for our mother and for our family each time we visit. We always wanted our loving mother to transition to a place that is welcoming, caring and safe. We found this at The Chelsea at Greenburgh assisted living facility. I would like to thank Suzanne Stephans for making our mother's move into the community a great experience. After our fabulous tour with Suzanne with all our questions and concerns addressed, we knew that The Chelsea at Greenburgh was the only place for our mom. The amazing staff members are so supportive. Our mother thoroughly enjoys the variety of engaging events each day plus the social aspect. Thank you!

The staff here is so genuine, kind and attentive. They truly care about the residents. Libby and John are so calm and gentle with my father in law. His other Aides are also so sweet and treat him like family. The receptionist is so friendly and personable and always helpful. We greatly appreciate you all. God bless your staff!
October 2021
My family waited a long time for this facility to open and still we vacillated over moving our loved one the whole time due to her dementia. We are glad we did. After a bureaucratic delay with the town and the department of health during COVID, when the Chelsea finally opened, it hit the ground running. The facility is brand new, well appointed and beautiful. The staff is concerned with and considerate of their residents' family and, so far, our loved one has received meticulous, compassionate "memory care." They have affiliations spanning the spectrum of healthcare and all of it within the confines of the facility. Being located where it is makes it convenient to all type of Westchester's medical facilities. Every inquiry I have made has been respectfully and satisfactorily addressed by the right person and answered in a timely manner. I receive regular calls from her physical therapists, supervising aides, medical suppliers and doctors advising and apprising me of her status and am in regular email communication as necessary. Believe it or not, I am told from attending medical staff the food is the best they've ever had from such a place. From the onset the Executive Director has been entirely transparent about the facility and has passed that behavior on to her staff. I have yet to meet or speak with an employee who has been disrespectful or seems disgruntled in any manner. All of them seem quite happy to be working there. This atmosphere is important as it translates to the care the residents receive. I admit COVID makes visiting inconvenient, but they have done their best to accommodate visitors and any changes to protocols are swiftly communicated. I look forward to the day when an appointment isn't necessary and people can come an go with ease. The last thing I feel the need to communicate is my loved one was in another facility before this one. The experience wasn't good. Before and since then my family has looked at assisted living/memory care facilities in Florida, New York and Connecticut. The Chelsea has met or exceeded the quality of every one.
