Although my aunt was only there a short time due to advanced illness, I highly recommend Heathwood! My family and I have experienced many different facilities throughout the years and Heathwood by far is the best one! The staff and administrators are very caring. The facility is clean and well maintained. They took care of my aunt far and above what a normal assisted living facility would have done! Heathwood in our opinion one of the best assisted living facilities in WNY!

My Mom and Dad are new to the Heathwood facility having moved in just a few short months ago. Their experience has been better than expected. To say that they love it would be a gross understatement. The facility is great, the activities and the amenities are great but the people are what put Heathwood over the top. The feeling of care and concern are felt from the minute you cross the entrance. You can't fake real concern. I know that my parents are safe and cared for 24/7. That is a great feeling.

When my mother’s health suddenly changed, I wasn't ready to face the reality of a move, let alone figure out where to start. A local senior living advisor recommended Heathwood as the best fit for her needs. From the moment we toured, she was hooked”drawn in by the sun-filled lounges and bright, welcoming hallways. Making the space feel like home was a priority, and the maintenance staff was incredibly considerate, hanging her favorite pictures from home. Her room now looks like a personally decorated, inviting apartment. Beyond the beautiful setting, the daily activities keep her truly engaged; in fact, she now assists the staff with those events. The team has been wonderful, keeping her safe and giving me peace of mind. Knowing she can transition within the facility has completely removed the worry from her future.

Our aunt has lived at Heathwood for about 3 1/2 years. She began her stay in Assisted Living and now resides in the Memory Care Unit to better meet her needs for structure and supervision. Our family all live out of state, and that presents some challenges for us in providing care. We have been very blessed that the staff at Heathwood is so caring! Communicating with nursing, care managers, activity personnel, and administrators has been so helpful to us; even for the small stuff! We know that our aunt is in good hands! She is always busy, making friends, and enjoying herself! Her health, wellness, and safety are a top priority. At a doctor’s appointment she was asked how her living situation was going. I live at Heathwood and I love it! Very grateful!

After searching the area for an assisted living facility for our mom, we found Heathwood. It’s so difficult emotionally to choose a home for your mom that is so different than what she is used to but necessary. You get a feel for the places as you visit and we were hooked as soon as we walked through the doors! The care, cleanliness but mostly it was the kindness of the staff and happy people there that stood out the most. I can’t begin to express the gratitude my family feels for the Heathwood management and staff. They treat my mom like she is a friend/family each and every day. They are super attentive and available whenever needed or just stop by to say hello. Now for the changes in my mom. She has been living there for 6 months and is a completely different person. She has friends, activities and a mentally stimulating environment compared to living in a large home. She is back doing her artwork, and the happiest she has been in many years. She thanks me every day for finding her forever home, a place that she loves and wishes she would have known about years ago. These words are all you need to hear to warm your heart! I would recommend Heathwood!

When we moved my mother from Texas to Heathwood in Williamsville, NY, I was more than nervous, hoping my mother would be able to settle and adjust to such a change that this point in her life. Fortunately, seven months later, I can say her experience with the staff at Heathwood has been amazing! They were helpful and kind every step of the way from the move itself, to more long-term adjusting, to making sure the care provided met her 'where she was at' even as her needs changed. Dementia is difficult for the person experiencing it and the associated caretakers. For all the staff at Heathwood - from the laundry and cleaning staff to those that administer the medication to the nurses and case manager - I witnessed many occasions of going above and beyond to meet my mother's needs. While finding the right assisted living facility isn't a 'one size fits all' - some issues are personal preference or more personality-driven - I can say across the board, the staff at Heathwood are some of the best around! They are a great fit for anyone!

Heathwood's Memory Care Unit was my mom's home for 3 years. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the terrific and attentive staff, who treated our mother as if she was their own. The care received allowed my mother to re-establish a daily routine, and be truly settled in her new home. The love, care and respect my mother received will forever be cherished.

Dad has been there for a little over 2 years and loves it. For me it always starts with the staff and from my experience most of staff there are wonderful. Dad has nothin but good things to say about being there. He was very reluctant to go into a senior facility but his health issues kind of forced the situation. Thankfully his reluctance quickly dissipated after a few weeks of being there. I think having others around and getting out of the pattern of living alone made a huge difference with him. Thanks Heathwood for making this difficult transition so easy and for taking such good care of my father. I only wish we would have done it sooner.

If you are reading this review then you are beginning a very difficult journey. One that I can appreciate. About six months ago my sisters and I began the same journey. It is one of the hardest things you can do as an adult, making the decision to relocate a parent to an assisted living facility. When we started this process with Heathwood, we were treated with respect and empathy. We had a million questions, a million emotions, and enormous decisions. Everyone at Heathwood from the initial sales associate, the accounting team, the front desk, nurses everyone respectively and kindly assisted in the collaboration of relocating my parents. Every day we were greeted with a smile. A hug. Kind words, and unending support. I can not thank them enough for helping with this transition. My parents have been living there for about a month now. They have adjusted so well. Every day my my dad raves about the food, activities, and assistance they have been given. They are being so well taken care of, and they are so happy! I am truly thankful for everyone at Heathwood that has touched my parents lives and made it better. The absolute best decision we could have made for my mom and dad, and as one of the last things you can do for your parents, that is all that matters.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My parents have moved into Heathwood Assisted Living & Memory Care at Williamsville. They are enjoying it. One of the main reasons I chose this facility was because they accept Medicare when private funds are no longer available. The other reason was they had good reviews from other people that I know that have had family members stay there. The residents and staff are very friendly. The manager was very accommodating and we were well informed during our visit before my parents made the decision to live here. My parents were in a condo by themselves, and they weren't socializing. But once they got here, they are enjoying many activities and meeting new friends. Every morning, my mom and dad go to group exercises. They also go to religious services or prayer groups. There are a large variety of activities to choose from. Residents can choose to go on field trips once or twice a month. The staff take them out to go places. They also have a nice movie theater with a popcorn machine and large movie seats. There are crafts, card groups, and live music every Friday. Residents are active, and always doing something. They have a lovely dining room, which serves restaurant style. Each time residents eat, they get the same table and have a given time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was a huge concern for my parents, and they are very pleased with the quality and variety. If you don't like something, you can order something that you do want. They always get a snack, for later at night after dinner. I feel I have a good rapport with the case workers and the other staff. There are employees who have been there for 25 years, 15 years, and 10 years. I feel like it's a very good placement for my parents and they are very happy with it. There's a choice of rooms. My parents have a large private room, so they have one room with a bathroom. They do have a variety of apartments and rates. You can either take your furniture with you or they can provide furniture for you. My parents took their bedroom set with them. For Thanksgiving, some residents are with smaller groups instead of one large dining room. They only had 12 people at their table. My father said it felt like a family eating a Thanksgiving dinner. So, they were very happy. My parents’ room is very convenient to activity rooms and very convenient to the dining room, which was important. My dad struggles to walk. I would say it's average-priced. It's all very clean, and I can't find any faults.

I welcome this opportunity to thank Heathwood Assisted Living for the wonderful and loving care they provide to my loved one. When a family member experiences memory care issues it is challenging not only for them, but also the family members and care providers. Heathwood put us all at ease! Their memory care unit is clean, well attended and a very inviting atmosphere. I never have to worry as I know my loved one feels secure and in the best of hands. Buffalo is fortunate to have this wonderful facility.

The Staff has taken very good care of my Dad since he has been moved from an apartment at Heathwood into the Memory Care area. His hygiene has been well taken care of and everyone that provides help to my Dad is very kind, patient, and caring! My Dad loves the food at Heathwood, too!

I went to visit the mother of a good friend and she is in the assisted-living level. I was impressed with everything I saw so far. She seems to be very comfortable and likes it there. It seems to have many activities and it's very clean and appears to be very organized.

Locally owned by the daughter of the man who started the Elderwood assisted living/ SNF etc. Staff seem to care. Adequate activities for the residents if they wish to participate. Good inspection report by N.Y. State. My uncle is a resident there and appears to be well cared for
