My mother lived at Arbor Terrace for eight years and truly considered it her home. In fact, one day after being away, she remarked how good it felt to be home, which meant so much to our family. She began her time in the Bridges neighborhood, where she enjoyed a full and active life. There were plenty of activities, outings, opportunities to make friends, and caring staff members who treated residents with kindness and respect. As my mother’s health declined, she transitioned to memory care, in the Evergreen neighborhood. During this stage of her life, she continued to receive excellent care from a compassionate and dedicated staff. When she required hospitalization and her health began to deteriorate rapidly, Mary Laverty, the director of Evergreen, went above and beyond to ensure that my mother could return to Arbor Terrace”the place she considered her home. Once she was placed on hospice care, our family had, as always, 24-hour access so we could be with her whenever we wished. We were deeply grateful for the support, kindness, and understanding shown to us during this difficult time. My mother passed away at the age of 92, surrounded by caring people in the place she loved and considered her home. Our family will always be thankful to the staff of Arbor Terrace for the compassion, dignity, and care they provided throughout her eight years there.

My parents moved into Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains 3 months ago. It has been adjustment for them giving up their independence, however, the staff at Arbor has been excellent all along the way. The support staff is friendly, compassionate, and very caring. The management team/staff is excellent and incredibly receptive.They are always approachable, quick to respond to any questions or suggestions, and proactive about making improvements. From the very beginning, they have tried to make the transition as smooth as possible and have continued to listen attentively to feedback from both residents and families. It’s clear that they truly care about creating the best possible environment for everyone. There are many engaging activities for the residents to participate in as well as periodic entertainment from piano players, singers, and other performers. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the level of care and respect they receive here. I would highly recommend Arbor Terrace at Morris Plains to any family looking for a place where their loved ones will be truly valued and well cared for.

I'll start by saying we ultimately selected an alternative facility for a very specific reason - we needed a place that has assisted and memory care in addition to independent living, which Arbor Terrace does not offer independent living. On all other important factors, Arbor Terrace was an excellent option. The price is in line with other facilities in the area, the location is fairly new and very well maintained. The rooms are well-appointed; there are ample activities offered to residents. The staff is very kind and accommodating and the residents we interacted with all seemed quite content.

I moved to Arbor Terrace in May of 2025 after relocating from Florida. While I waited for my furniture to arrive, the team kindly put me up in a hotel, which made the transition so much easier. From day one, I was paired with a wonderful resident ambassador who showed me the ropes and helped me feel right at home. It didn’t take long for friends here to turn into family. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive. The medication techs are always attentive and make sure I receive my medicine on time, which gives me great peace of mind. The building is always spotless, and my room is kept clean and comfortable. I also really enjoy the daily exercise programs. They help me stay active and motivated each day. Arbor Terrace truly feels like home.

My mother began her residency in the assisted living community in Arbor Terrace, Morris Plains. With so much support, love, and guidance from the staff admin and caregivers this past year, my mother is now spending her last days in the memory care community. I cannot say enough about the compassion and empathy from so many of the caregivers there. The community is always friendly, supportive and clean. Any concern I’ve raised has been treated with respect and resolved. I can walk out every afternoon feeling comfortable my mother has love all around her for the hours I’m not there. She is bedridden but they make sure she is clean, hair brushed, and she is comfortable each and every day. I can’t say enough about the wonderful community there. It is very homey and the staff helpful as well as accomdating. I like how they post the daily activities and provide a daily information sheet called the Daily Chronicles, in which I find extremely helpful not only for me, but to everybody else. There is a beautiful walking path that is available to walk on when ever the weather is nice. I like the shuttle service that is available to take us to doctors appointments. My husband has been at Arbor Terrace Morris Plains for only two weeks, but I am nothing short of amazed at his smooth transition into the Bridges community there. He was adamant that he would never leave home, but this has been transformational. The staff was determined to make him as comfortable as possible, and the whole process was flawless from start to finish. He has made himself right at home, taking his meals in the dining room and actually making friends. This was previously a notoriously antisocial guy. He moves about the whole community, and is learning the ropes of community living with plenty of guidance and watchful eyes keeping him in line. The staff takes personal interest in all the residents, and everyone seems to know him by name already. The overall atmosphere is congenial, relaxed, but also active. There is always something to do for most any interest. His room (a studio) is spacious, well-lit, and very clean. Having a little kitchenette is much appreciated. The full size refrigerator/freezer is a particular bonus. I can bring his favorite treats and know they will be cool and at the ready. He also brings things back from the dining room. One last word here: the food! I am very very impressed with the quality and variety of meals served. For this difficult picky eater, ordering two different fish entrees and calling me to report how delicious they were was amazing. The waitstaff seems unflappable with his requests. While it’s only been a short while, I can say I am one hundred percent satisfied with my difficult decision to move my husband to assisted living. It is life-changing for both of us, but the wonderful, caring folks at Arbor Terrace Morris Plains have made it as comfortable as possible. We both feel supported. These are our new family, and I am grateful.

In April of 2021 I was looking for an Assisted Living Residence. After looking at about 6-8 places I was ready to stay in my condo in Basking Ridge. My son asked me to look at one more place, we came to Arbor in Morris Plains and met a very nice lady named Donna. She proceeded to show us around and explore the ins and outs of the place. We were very impressed and upon going home I called Jim and told him to tell them to make up papers to move in. On May 2021 I moved into Arbor and have never regretted one day. The staff and residents welcomed me here. The place is kept immaculately clean. There is ample activities to keep busy and a great library if you enjoy reading. There are also trips to stores and restaurants that I enjoy. After one year they asked me to become a Resident Ambassador to welcome in new resident, help them get comfortable and happy, and to explain how the facility works. Arbor is over the top of Assisted Livings.The food is okay at times and at times great depending on the menu. There are exciting entertainers and events. Amanda and Chris are incredible as well as the rest of the staff. Under very short notice I needed to find a place for my mother who has dementia. Arbor Terrace was recommended by several people. Amanda and Chris were very patient and walked me through the process to get my Mom admitted. Amanda even stopped by the house with some paperwork! The facility is amazing. It has a lovely layout. It is bright, airy and very clean. They clearly take pride in the facility. On move in day they treated my Mother and me so kindly. They even took her to the in-house salon to get a hair cut as were setting up her room. I can rest easier knowing she is getting such great care. as we were gettign her room set-up.

I had a tour yesterday of Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Chris Winnie was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, and showed me around the impressive building. It’s open and airy, tastefully decorated, and sparkling clean. The different sized apartments are bright and cheery, and designed for comfort. The dining areas are filled with light from the large windows, and there are lovely outdoor spaces for residents and their families. I had the pleasure of visiting Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains recently and was immediately greeted with a smiling face from the receptionist, which has not always been the case at other facilities. Amanda and Chris are the Community Sales Directors and were both friendly and welcoming. As Amanda gave me a tour, she interacted with residents along the way and it warmed my heart to see how she knew all of their names and they knew hers. The apartments were surprisingly spacious, inviting, filled with natural light and the community, overall, gave off a sense of family. I called the other day and spoke with Chris who identified himself as the Community Sales Director, he connected with me and put me at such ease to talk about my circumstance and he then related that he had been through this personally with his own parents. I came in and toured the community and I was blown away how beautiful it was and how the residents all were smiling and engaged in conversation and some people were even gathered doing puzzles and reading in the library. Chris introduced me to staff who were all so friendly and happy to go out of their way to answer my questions... I was so comfortable and relaxed that I actually stayed a lot longer then I originally planned. All the employees/staff, from the Executive Director, Nurses, caregivers, dining services, housekeeping, etc... all the way down are just such a pleasure to work with. They are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and really go above and beyond for all of their residents in this community. They are always available to help. My mom has been at Arbor for 5 years. It's been so hard to watch her go through the different stage of dementia. However, I have said to everyone that has checked in on her status that she is always happy and engaged. She has always loved living there. This is all that we want for her. The entire staff is amazing, especially those aides that take care of the residents. They keep her engaged with tons of activities every day and are extremely caring. I really can't say enough good things about the facility. So happy we found Arbor Morris Plains!

I'm so grateful that I found a great community like Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains. My Mom has been in Arbor Terrace since 2018. She began on the Assisted living floor for 2 yrs and then transitioned into Bridges for approx. 6 months. She has now been in Evergreen for a year and a half. She is doing really well. She is involved in most activities and honestly, she is happy! I did not think that was possible when she entered Evergreen. I am very grateful for all the staff! They have been amazing through all of the challenges that the Covid pandemic has brought on. Mary Laverty, the Evergreen Director has been a Godsend! She has given me the peace of mind that my Mom is well cared for and happy. My Mom is comfortable and grateful for the great staff and beautiful clean environment that makes this place special. My mother-in-law has been a resident of Arbor Terrace for about two years. She is very happy and grateful she is there. She always has good things to say about the staff and how she feels well cared for. I find Arbor Terrace to be a warm and welcoming place. When we go to visit, Arbor Terrace always looks great. Inside, the common areas are decorated for every holiday beautifully and outside, the planters and grounds are always filled with the greens and or flowers of the season. There seems to be a high standard for attention to detail. The family is comforted and grateful she is there.

Moving an aging parent into Arbor Terrace was made so much easier by the incredible attentive and helpful administration and staff. We were made to feel so welcome and supported at every step of the process, and once in place i feel VERY secure that their needs are being met, that they are being given every opportunity to thrive and improve, and that Arbor Terrace is looking out for our best interests every step of the way, especially around Covid precautions. My wife's stay at Arbor Terrace spanned 16 months until she passed away on Dec 8th, 2019. The facility is very clean and the staff is quite professional and caring. The food and amenities are average and for the rather steep rental costs, things like toothpaste and brushes as well as incontinence wear and even waterproof bedclothes had to be supplied by me. I had three negative issues with the experience. There were two occasions in which I found injuries on her body, neither of which could have possibly occurred accidentally. Both instances were "investigated" by asking staff if anyone was responsible! Guess what the answer was. Another very bothersome issue revolved around my wife's need for a "Geri Chair" which is a posture supporting chair which she desperately needed. Management refused to allow this chair into the Evergreen unit because it would have given the appearance of a nursing home environment. This despite the fact that I was willing to assume all costs relating to its purchase. This was an obvious example of sacrificing patient care for the sake of appearance. Very disappointing. Many times I would visit and find my wife sitting alone at the kitchen counter. I had to press this issue more than a couple of times to have her sitting with the rest of the clients in the general area.. I found management to be cordial and responsive although the management of medications was very poor until I brought its attention. Her main care giver, Doris, was just the best and has my highest recommendation. Overall,, I think the total experience was very positive despite the above concerns
