This place is amazing!!! I'm a CNA that's been to about every place in the area for 1 reason or another and this is THE ONLY place I would consider if/when the time comes that I could no longer care for my mama. The gentleman I've cared for over 10 yrs recently became a resident and the level of care, thoughtfulness, kindness and understanding goes beyond expectations. I've waited close to 2 months before writing this review because I was sure it was all just a show to get us in the door but it's real and authentic. RJ takes my request and I know whatever I needed will be taken care of ASAP. The caregivers, Tan, EJ and others are top tier, even housekeeping goes above and beyond basic requirements. They truly put the dream team together and created a wonderful place where you know you're loved ones are taken care of. I could continue this review but I think I've got the point across lol WE LOVE IT HERE!!!

Last summer we needed a place for my sister, and Oakwood Senior Living was our answer. I’ve always had a terrible fear of the thought of putting a family member in a facility. The first time I walked through the door at Oakwood, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The place is amazingly beautiful!!! I was instantly greeted by one of the employees asking if I needed help with anything. From that moment on, I knew my sister was in the right place. Every single employee, regardless of what department they work, greets you with a smile and speaks every time. The professional staff/employees genuinely care about the residents and gets to know them on a personal level. There has never been a single request denied if my sister needed anything. If anything, the are proactive, ahead of the game. The place is clean and decorated so beautiful. It reminds me of a high end hotel. I could go on and on about Oakwood, so I will end with this. If you are in need of a caring facility for a loved one, please check out Oakwood Senior Living. It’s been the answer to a lot of prayers!

RJ Russell goes above and beyond for all the residents. He is so sincere and thoughtful. He helps my mom Mary Ellis daily. He has made her being here so much better.

My Dad is very content at Oakwood, and we are very happy with the level of care they provide. The Wellness Director, RJ, is always available to answer my questions and quickly attend to any special needs he has.

It’s never an easy decision. But Finding a place that doesn’t make you feel guilty for needing the assistance, or a place that feels more like a hotel than AL, is priceless! Oakwood has been completely unexpected. Mr. Russell answered my panicked call and has done everything to make my brothers move in seamless and dare I say pleasant. When have you walked the halls of an AL and every staff member looks you in the face and says hello? Maintenance has been there when they said and contacted me if they could not finish the project. Medical staff who listen? People actually doing what they said they would do and welcoming your input? Walk in the door- you will be impressed!

I've been utilizing Oakwood Senior Living for almost 8 years for my mother-in-law and must say that the management in my opinion is excellent. They have always been willing to work with us to provide the perfect care which we all ultimately want for our family members. Jody the Director of this facility and RJ Russell especially come to mind as caring and compassionate people who go the extra mile to make sure that care and attention is accomplished. It's always a difficult situation to put a loved one in a care facility as there's always the concern that you're not doing the right thing, however in the case of Oakwood Senior living, it is our experience that we made a good decision.

My mother stayed here for a respite stay and I must say that I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Maintenance Director and the entire Care staff. The Maintenance Director is truly exceptional”always professional, responsive, and proactive. Issues are addressed quickly and thoroughly, often before they even become problems. It’s clear they take immense pride in their work and in keeping the environment safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. The Care staff are equally outstanding. They are compassionate, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels respected, supported, and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, patience, and dedication show in every interaction. Together, the Maintenance and Care teams create a warm, dependable, and welcoming environment, and their hard work does not go unnoticed. I am incredibly grateful for everything they do and highly recommend this team without hesitation.

I have a friend who lives here. They are so good and wonderful to her and she is so happy living here. Her name is ernestine francis. The staff is super friendly. Wonderful job to the staff at this assisted living facility. Keep up the great work.

My mom has been at Oakwood for the past 7 months. Our experience has been very positive. She loves her room and has made a lot of friends. I trust the employees to call me if there if a problem. We are very happy to know my mom is in a safe, caring facility.

My mom has been at Oakwood for 3-1/2 years. She came to visit us from S. FL, had to have a medical procedure while visiting and never went back. While in rehab, my wife and I looked at over a dozen facilities in Knox, Louden & Blount counties. We loved the staff and facility at Oakwood. When my mom arrived they cared for her very well and still do to this day. We think of the staff as extended family. Although many staff members have moved on, the new staff and several staple members are still there. They have gone through hard times with lockdowns, and throughout it all, still made the residents as comfortable as possible. I would and do recommend Oakwood to all my friends. My mom always keeps me apprised if her well-being and is very happy at Oakwood. I have family members who works for Hospice Care as a social worker in S. FL. and has visited Oakwood many times. She is always impressed with the facility, staff, and care that our mom and all the residents receive. Thank you so much for everything you do for the residents.

Some good - a lot bad. Nice old building with big rooms. Concerning that they Cannot appear to keep many trained caregivers - seems they will take anyone who will show up. In house medical was substandard IMHO. I believe memory care residents fail to thrive because they just set food in front of them and do not help them eat. I would provide a companion for a loved one along with the facility for extra care if had been one to be allowed this decision. I would call this a warehouse situation to a large degree. Both my parents died here. Very sad. Update 7/24/2020 The somewhat canned response from the facility on my review was totally off. I guess they had to pull something out of their pages. I stand with my statement about the place. Truly subpar.

Most of the time when you go to a senior living or assisted living you leave feeling sad for the residents and their living conditions. This faculty provides you with an entirely different experience. I’ve gotten to witness the incredible staff who are so passionate about their residents. They go above and beyond to provide the best care, and you can tell that they absolutely love what they do. The residents always seem so happy, and seem to be truly enjoying themselves. This is the type of place everyone would want their loved ones calling home.
