We came to know Johanna Shores through our volunteer work here. We found friendly and efficient caregivers attentive to the residents' needs. As we recognized our need to plan for our future we immediately thought of Johanna Shores and got our name on the wait list. We took it without hesitation when the call came that an independent living apartment was available. We think it was one of the best decisions we have made. We have lived in the Brownstones for 18 months now and have found it to be a very welcoming and caring community. The staff are friendly and responsive to our needs and concerns. We moved into independent living at Johanna Shores for safety and security. And to know that other services are available as we age in place. We have already used many of the services including physical therapy, home health, a personal trainer and the food service and are completely satisfied.

Located on a beautiful lake, Johanna Shores is outstanding in every way. Its attractive, well-maintained buildings are surrounded by large trees and numerous colorful gardens with pleasant walking trails that are maintained year-round. We even have pontoon boat rides in the summer! Shopping, healthcare and numerous services are within 3-5 miles, and our bus is available for transportation. The best feature at Johanna Shores, however, is the people including staff and residents. We have been here for over a year now and have never met a friendlier, more helpful, and kind group of people. It is truly phenomenal. You will feel welcome immediately. There are many activities and programs for every taste and interest as well as social events with your neighbors. Take part in as little or as much as you like. You are sure to love it here as much as we do.

We have had the pleasure of living at Johanna Shores for 10 years now. We have had very few complaints. We think that Johanna Shores is the most beautiful campus in all of the homes we have seen. Located right on the shores of Lake Johanna, there are so many beautiful gardens, paths and spaces all the way down to the lake. The main reason we chose Johanna Shores is all of the levels of care available in one location. I recently spent 2 weeks in the transitional care at Johanna Shores and during that time my husband was able to walk over (any time) so we could spend time together. We have been married 74 years and this meant so much and gave us peace of mind.

We have lived at Johanna Shores for 18 months in the independent apartments. We have found the staff exceedingly helpful and supportive. We were quickly welcomed into the community in our building. We feel secure knowing we will have life-long graduated care at this facility. The campus has beautiful flower gardens and is situated on the shores of Lake Johanna. We highly recommend living at Johanna Shores Presbyterian Home!!

Johanna Shores felt like home from the moment I started and continues to feel like home (even more)18 years later. I continue to come to work and make a difference each day. The Best Place to work! I started my nursing career here when I migrated here in the US. They take care of their employees like family especially during this time of pandemic making sure every employee get tested and vaccinated. Spent my 4 yrs with them and loved every minute of serving the older adults. I just had to move on for more learning experience in the hospital setting. But if turning back the time, I will always go back.

They care more about the money then taking care of their residents. They have not been honest! When they overcharged my parents 1,400.00 on their bill they acted like it was no big deal. I told them I feel sorry for the elderly residents that don't have an advocate they said everybody has someone which totally a lie. They can't keep staff for they don't pay them enough. They wanted to put my dad in memory care and my mom in independent living instead of putting them together in assisted living for they could make more money and when my parents ran out of money they could kick them out! They are all about Greed!!!!!!!

I would not recommend the memory care unit. They add on al a carte charges for various reasons including redirection which is commonly needed for people with Alzheimer's. They also required loved ones to be on call and come in to help whenever they needed us to help. Security was also questionable as our loved one got out of the building multiple times. Lastly, the staff wasn't well trained to deal with people with Alzheimer's and at least on evenings and weekends they didn't interact with residents beyond the minimum required. If you have a loved one that is quiet, non active and likes being alone, this place would work but you could find a cheaper place for that.

My grandmother lived here for about a year and a half on multiple floors as her conditions worsened. The staff on all of the floors were absolutely perfect; friendly, kind, attentive and respectful. There are always worries when leaving a loved one to live somewhere that you are not able to truly know about from a brief tour during the day, but I can say with certainty that during her entire time here, the Johanna Shores staff and administration were nothing but professionals.
