I'm Currently the Barber at Fairway Village. I've been a stay at home mom for 17 years and this is my first job back out in the real world. My only requirement was that I wanted a place where people loved their job. My neighbor saw a posting that her friend needed a barber for an all men's dementia unit. From the moment I walked in I knew it was different. The place didn't smell like a nursing home. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The men who live here have stolen my heart. I am learning who each one of them is and I love hearing who they used to be. One of my favorite things is when they remember me. They look so handsome when we get done with a haircut and beard trim. Saying goodbye to the first one before he passed was something that made me realize how much I truly love these guys! The staff love them too and it's evident how much, when you are able to observe for a few hours every other week!

My dad has been here for 2+years. He is comfortable here (most important) - it's small, secure, all male, and all suffer with dementia. It's a nasty disease no doubt, but having staff that understands the disease and advocates for their residents is priceless. I am kept up to date on everything that affects my dad and can see him at anytime of the day. Natasha is a Saint and has made the transition to long term care the best it could be for me and Dad. This is the best place for our needs!

7 months ago, I had to make a difficult decision and put my dad into a residential care facility due to his dementia. I investigated several facilities and found that Fairway Village was the best match for him. The staff at Fairway Village has helped make the transition better than I ever expected. They keep my family very informed of everything that is going on. I am very impressed with how clean they keep the facility and when it comes to the food my dad tells me all the time how good the food is there. We feel like they really care about the well-being of my dad. We also feel the staff has gone above and beyond, on several occasions, for him. Based on my experience I would highly recommend Fairway Village for your loved ones. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my dad is in good hands and is happy with his living arrangements. I can't say enough good things about this facility.

It is unfortunate that there are bad reviews on here. My Dad was in another facility before I was told he was being kicked out and moved to Fairway Village! I literally couldn't believe it and wasn't even consulted. He was in a dementia ward there also and they continued to do things after I directly told them not to. The worst part was that they told me his behavior was inappropriate and unacceptable. Uh, yeah...he is losing his mind and they were supposed to be experts! My experience at Fairway Village has been quite the opposite! The staff and director truly care and best of all...THEY UNDERSTAND DEMENTIA PATIENTS! They have been patient with my Dad, cared for him and treated him with decency and respect as he regresses through this horrible disease. I took care of my Dad for approximately 3 years before he went into a facility so I understand how hard that is. Unfortunately, I think some people's expectations might be unrealistic. If you want honesty, a caring attitude and a facility that will accept your loved one without judgement, you will find it at Fairway Village!

I moved my dad from a different facility to this one. All the issues I had with the last place is non-existent here. He is treated with dignity and respect here. The staff are just awesome so I don't have to worry about my dad's care anymore. Where else will you get pictures your family member texted to you? Or a text to tell you how their day went? Thanks to Natasha, Lisa, Patrick and all the nursing staff of Fairway Village. I appreciate your hardwork.

My husband has been a resident of Fairway Village for over a year now. He continues to receive excellent care. It was a very emotional and difficult decision for me to make when I could no longer care for him at home and other living arrangements needed to be made for his continued care. I feel blessed to have found Fairway and have him as a resident there. The staff genuinely care about him and the other residents. They are always available to answer any of my questions or talk with me at any time. They are not only his caregivers but have become our friends and like family to us. Based on my experience I would highly recommend Fairway Village. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my husband is in good hands.

My dad moved to Fairway after having a bad experience at another facility. Fairway staff has been great working with my dad. Great place and great staff!

My father was at this nursing home for 1 1/2 years until he passed. Everyone at Fairway Village took an interest in my father and helped make his last final years comfortable. He was happy here and he was loved by so many people there. I really felt comfortable leaving my father there and I knew they were trained in Alzheimer's. He was at two other nursing homes that I took him out of because they were not doing their job but Fairway Village is a great place for your relative if they have Alzheimer's. I really appreciate all the staff that took care of my father and I will never forget all their love they gave my father and their hard work and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. KH

My grandfather is placed in this facility. The staff the medical attention and constant one on one attention that is given to him is more than greatly appreciated. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure his safety as well as my families knowledge of his current condition. Elizabeth Price and the director of nursing Rosie Normand have provided above excellent accommodations for my grandfather. We are so great full for their constant attention in order to provide him with a safe and caring environment. I would give the staff here a +5 rating. They are truly concerned with the safety of their clients.

So far it has been a good experience for my brother. The staff seems friendly and caring for him. It is a non-smoking facility, but they do allow e-cigs, which is good. Hoping he continues to like it, it's too far for me to drive for regular visits from Louisville, KY. I wish there were more all male facilities like this one.
