As retirement homes go, Sunrise is all about the care and the staff. Staff are caring and attentive and will go out of their way to help residents. This Sunrise location tends to host handicapped residents further down the dementia journey. It's similar to a long term care facility but costly. Ironically there is limited handicapped parking and the dining room has yet to be set up to accommodate tilting wheel chairs, leaving residents a long way from the small tables. The facility is clean and maintained mostly, but it needs a renovation. Common areas are a little too cozy - there's not a lot of space. Resident room's windows don't work as they should and some rooms share thermostats so of course there can be temperature conflicts. It's all about great staff and care here. Staff are long term, and they work great as a team. Sunrise is a US chain, so it's readily apparent it's about making money! Management do the best they can but are not empowered to make the changes that need to happen.

My husband was a recent resident of Sunrise Senior Living, Mississauga. My family, and I, will always be grateful for the exceptional, compassionate care he received, both medically and personally. It allowed his final months to be lived with dignity, respect and comfort. The staff were always so friendly and attentive to his needs, he was cared for with such kindness and professionalism. His declining health was difficult for him, myself, and the family, yet we felt well supported and cared for too. They continually reached out to us with encouragement, warmth and compassion, making a difficult journey easier to bear. The medical team, led by Dr. Hamboyan are exceptional! They were always willing to meet with us to better understand his increasing health challenges and took the time to listen to our concerns with patience. We couldn’t have made a better decision than Sunrise, Mississauga, it surpassed all of our expectations!

My father is getting the best care we could ask for. There are lots of planned activities and all the staff are very helpful, happy and quick to respond to any questions that arise. Sunrise has a real strong community feel. We could not ask for anything better!

I recently visited Sunrise and was really impressed! As soon as I walked in, the staff was super friendly, making me feel right at home. The whole place had a warm and inviting vibe. I noticed the residents seemed genuinely happy and engaged, enjoying their activities and chatting with each other and the staff. It really showed how much care goes into creating a pleasant community. We’ll definitely be coming back once our loved one is ready to move in. The staff at Sunrise were fantastic to work with and were able to help my mom transition from independent to assisted living. This process had several challenges and their experience and support made a big difference in achieving a successful outcome. They really care about the residents and frequently go over and above, they also do a great job with family members and provide good medical supervision. There is a wide range of community activities and an overall positive vibe to the residence. The cost though is high relative to the quality of the rooms (dated & somewhat dark) and the limitations for making safety adaptations (ex. in my Mom's bathroom we were unable to install a safety bar beside the toilet due to the steel framing under the drywall). At this price point I would expect a certain quality of the environment to match the quality of the care.

Sunrise of Mississauga is an amazing retirement home that my Grandma has been living at for many years now. There is a lovely aspect of community and togetherness amongst all the staff and residents. The staff are extremely nice and very hard working making sure all residents are well taken care of. They plan and run numerous fun activities every day for all residents to participate in from movie nights to zumba to arts and crafts. Its a great place with wonderful staff!

My father moved to Sunrise of Mississauga earlier this year and immediately felt welcomed and loved. As my fathers health started to decline, we were given the opportunity to move my father to hospice care. However, we chose to keep my father with the staff at Sunrise that had now become family. They were there for my father, mother and the entire family during the most difficult days. Sunrise is expensive, but you cannot put a price on the care, love and the people that work in this home. They truly are special. Thank you Sunrise of Mississauga for everything.

I have visited many Senior Lving residences from different providers. The level of attention and care we received at Sunrise Mississauga oustanding. After we moved our family mamber the care, attention and professionalism from everyone... from the front desk to the staff who takes care of the resident was impecable. My mom received very good care during her stay. The PSW's that took care of her were compassionate, and caring. My father received excellent care from Sunrise Mississauga. The concierge was always friendly upon arrival. The Wellness nurses provided consistent updates and were always available to answer any questions. The Care Team on the reminiscence floor were sincere, attentive, caring and supportive both towards our father and our family. Finally the Director was professional and compassionate. Not only was she there to address any concerns or to ensure our needs were met, it is apparent that she genuinely cares about the well being of all residents. We are thankful our father was able to enjoy his last few months of life with this facility.

An older friend got a unit here late January 2020 just before Covid hit. She eventually made friends with staff, other clients and guest entertainment. Satisfying to see her enjoying meals and her personality coming out after living widowed for 5 years. When the first wave of Covid was raging thru care facilities, this one had one case reported to July. I think that says it all.

Truly a wonderful place. I'm grateful every single day that my mother is at Sunrise Mississauga, especially now. Very caring staff, efficient and extremely knowledgeable administrators and happy residents. We were lucky to find this gem.

Too many inedible pieces in their chicken. Feel like I'm doing surgery while I try and eat it. Rice was good but I had to watch out for bones and things while I was eating it.

This place will provide good care for your parents. However they suffer from the same problems as all senior living facilities, staffing. Quality of care is more dependent on which staff is on for any given day than it should be. The premium you pay would lead you to believe their staff to client ratio and standards will provide a better than average experience. Most days quality of care is as expected to better than expected. However on days when they are short staffed or junior staff and in, the quality of care suffers. It's for this reason that I believe Sunrise is average and not worth the premium you'll pay.
