Home Helpers and specifically Madeleine Russell has been a lifesaver for our mother Joyce. Madeleine has become like a loved and trusted family member and is invited to family get together and celebrations as well as becoming the favorite Bingo Caller at moms Ladies Meetings. Michael and his team were invaluable in helping us take care of my Mom. His caregivers treated my Mom as their own. My family including Mom knew that everyday she would be happy, safe, and enjoy her day. If you don’t know where to turn when your life turns upside down, all it takes is one phone call. Mom went from 100% independent to needing 100% care overnight. This company placed loving angels into Mom’s home. The caregivers allowed Mom to retain her dignity and stay at home for the last few months of her life. The caregivers quickly became members of our family making things easier for us and Mom.

Michael and his group did an very good job of finding caregivers for my aunt and keeping the rotation steady for the time we need their help. One of the caregivers went out of her way to do extra things for my aunt, including baking and making special ice-cream treats for her.

After being told the helpers that would be coming to assist me would do whatever I needed I found out differently. The help someone may need after surgery isn't necessarily the typical showing or bathing etc. I'm not suggesting anything weird or strange. I asked one of the aides if he was allowed to and able to help me with a project I had started many weeks earlier. He had no skills for this particular project, nevertheless said he would be happy to help at my direction and that it would be refreshing that he will have learned something new. Well after telling his boss, the owner I all of a sudden became undesirable. I left message after message without receiving a return call. Needing a ride to an apartment on a Monday but forgetting to notify them I called their answering service three times over the weekend and even after finding someone else to drive me I still hadn't received a call back. Their professionalism is minimal at best and I personally wouldn't recommend this company. FYI, I'm a Veteran and this was arranged through the VA!

We started using Home Helpers to help with my aging in-laws, especially my mother-in-law while her husband was on hospice. We continued to use them for another 6 months after my father-in-law passed, until mom-in-laws dementia worsened to the point that she needed full-time skilled nursing care.The entire time, Home Helpers provided excellent service. The staff were caring and attentive. Home Helpers staff were flexible and helpful as our schedule changed and needs for services increased.We liked that they had a nice online portal where we could see the staff care notes from any day and also send requests. We also appreciated the personal attention from the owner Michael, as well as Care Manager Tracey, and supervisors, whenever we had special needs or questions, or changes.They also worked closely with us on the transition to a long term care facility when we determined home care would not be enough.We highly recommend Home Helpers!

Home Helpers took care of my mom. It was a way to keep her in her home longer and also a much needed respite for my family. I can never thank them enough for the quality of care and for going the extra mile. Life throws you curve balls, and its good to know someone is there to make at least some of it a little easier. When a loved one is ill, especially terminally ill. there are so many things that can easily fall by the wayside around you because of where your focus is as a caregiver: from keeping things organized and tidy around the house to wrapping Christmas gifts for 8 grandchildren. So much of the focus, and rightfully so, is pointed at what needs to be done for your loved one to keep them comfortable and stable. Even something as simple as having another person around to keep your loved one company when theres nothing that needs to be done can have an enormous impact on them as well as the family.To have someone come in to fill that role in such a critical time is so very important. It was help we didnt realize we needed until we had it. For that, we will be eternally grateful to have had Mary assigned to us through those times to help us where we didnt have the energy. The wave of positive energy she came into our home with was incredibly uplifting.Michael, the owner, came to speak with our family to ease our minds. He spoke to our needs as a family.
