Firstly, I would give Laura and her team 10 stars if it was available. We brought our mom to Golden Cottage on December 1, 2022. She had broken her femur a month earlier and had congestive heart failure a month prior to that. After looking at several different AFH's, walking into Golden Cottage was like a breath of fresh air. Beautiful home, beautifully decorated, very clean, outdoor patio area, welcoming and perfectly set up for taking care of those in need on an individual basis...care, food, drink, etc. The owners, Laura and Audi are remarkable caregivers. This is truly their calling. Laura is a registered nurse that I am sure could have been a doctor if she had desired. She has been in this industry for many years and one of the many things that stood out to me, is that she has a gift of caring for the elderly and helping them keep their dignity. Laura and Audi built a home on the second floor for their family so they are onsite 24x7. They have 2 beautiful daughters and 1 darling son, and originally when I noticed that an AFH had children I simply would not go to see them. Am I glad we went to Golden Cottage! There could not have been a better place to have mom. The children are extremely well behaved, have been raised in the AFH environment, so they know how to interact with those that need care. I thought Mom would not like having children around, but her face would light up every time any of the kids came into her room. She would actually call them over to her. Laura has carefully chosen a few RNA's (registered Nurses Assistants) that have very similar gifts to her own. I spent an entire month in Seattle seeing mom continuously, including spending the night in her room often. There was never a moment when I wasn't impressed with the loving care mom was given all the way to the end. I live in Montana and could not be there the entire time that mom with with Laura and her team, but Laura kept in contact with me by facetiming so I could see and visit with my mom and get updates on a regular basis. Laura was also our advocate for mom. She knew so much and we knew so little and we could and did trust Laura completely to interact with Hospice and help us make good decisions. If you are interested in talking with me about Golden Cottage and the incredible team there, please let Laura know and she can share my cell number with you. I can tell you that when you go to visit them you will say to yourself, "wow, when it is my time, this is where I want to come." 🙂

My father recently passed away. He spent the last year of his life at the Golden Cottage Adult family home and I am forever grateful to Laura and her staff for making the last year of his life so comfortable. His state over the course of the one year varied both physically and mentally, but Laura and her staff were always taking care of him appropriately and frankly went above and beyond what I expected even staying up with him in the middle of the night to take care of him. In addition, Laura was always available to me and our family to answer questions and give updates on my dad’s status, especially as he declined. I couldn’t have asked for a more caring and loving environment for dad to spend his last year.

He had some very complicated conditions. Laura & the staff at Golden Cottage handled them both professionally & with love humor & grace. We were always well informed of any changes in his condition & how they were being treated. The home is beautiful, clean & well maintained. My father was treated like family from day 1. My mother was a resident at the Golden Cottage AFH for 8 years. Laura and Adrian and their staff always took excellent care of my mom. I believe she actually lived longer, due to the conscientious, intuitive and diligent care she received. Laura and Adrian went above and beyond in accommodating my moms specific needs, such as a specialized diet, and feeding her when she was able to eat, often outside regular meal times (and many other special needs). Laura instinctively knew what my mom needed, even after my mom entirely lost the ability to communicate. The home itself was always pristine and exceptionally clean. None of the issues or odors you might find at other facilities. A Adrian continually upgraded the house with many beneficial new features for the residents. My mom was always treated like she was valued, never like she was a burden or a hardship. You don’t find this level of excellence very often these days. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and many thanks to the Iancu family and the staff at the Golden Cottage Adult Family Home.

When searching for an AFH - selecting Golden Cottage was easy - it felt right. The home is built specifically for this purpose, it is immaculately maintained, and the staff were kind + knowledgeable. What we didn't know at the time was how much support our dad would need in such a short period of time. When we say that the attention to detail and level of care is unmatched - we are not exaggerating. Laura and Adrian (plus their team and beautiful family) were there for us and our dad - every step of the way. We always knew that he was safe and well cared for but even in the toughest of situations - they didn't skip a beat. Despite the ever changing COVID regulations - we always felt welcome and visited often. The other residents are lovely, respectful of one another and the staff, and a joy to be with. Although our dad is no longer with us - we look forward to being a part of the extended Golden Cottage family. If your loved one needs a forever home - look no further and fingers crossed that a room is available!

I'm not sure what else can be said about Golden Cottage other than they were fantastic in taking care of our father in every single way. The entire team are friendly, great communicators, wonderful caretakers and made the process of caring for an elderly parent as easy and enjoyable for us as possible. The home is AMAZING and caters to residents in every single way and provides everything anyone could ever need and then some. It really felt like our father was at home and we felt welcome every time we visited as every staff member knew us by name and were friendly and accommodating with anything and everything we needed and the nursing care, knowledge and resources provided were fantastic. If someone asked me for a recommendation for an assisted living facility, I would have no hesitation in recommending Golden Cottage, full stop. They are the best around, bar none. Thank you Laura and the entire Golden Cottage team.

We were so blessed to find Golden Cottage at just the time my husband needed total care. This is a very spacious, clean and attractive home, and the nursing care meets the highest professional standards. But beyond all that, Laura and Adrian gave my husband the most exquisite respect and loving care that was beyond all my expectations. They went out of their way to see to his comfort and happiness in any way possible. They cared for him as if he was their own father, and gave him joy at this very difficult time of his life.

My mother was a resident at Golden Cottage AFH for only a few months before she passed away just recently. She had advanced dementia and required extensive assistance with daily living activities. The home is located on a quiet street in the Kingsgate neighborhood and is immaculately maintained inside and out. The rooms are spacious and there is a large outdoor patio area. The home has a warm, family feel about it. Golden Cottage is every bit a family affair. The owners, Laura and Adrian, are a wonderful, caring couple. They and the two staff caregivers were always very kind to my mother, respectful and patient all while dealing with the most unpleasant aspects of taking care of a 90-year woman with advanced dementia. Laura is an RN and her skill and knowledge in dealing with dementia patients was obvious. Much of my mothers stay was at the hospice level. Laura and the Golden Cottage caregivers worked seamlessly with the hospice staff at Evergreen Health. I highly recommend Golden Cottage. Ward B.

I wholeheartedly recommend Golden Cottage Adult Family Home as it is everything a family could look for in a place for a loved one to live and receive care. Laura and Adrian, the owners, lead their amazing staff of caregivers by example, offering continuous, compassionate and quality care. My Mom was a resident of Golden Cottage for several months and benefited from their personalized, highly skilled care. As a Registered Nurse, with a passion for caring for older adults, Laura brings expertise and experience to caring for more complex patients like my Mom, who was legally blind and suffered advanced dementia. In the closing weeks, Mom was in Hospice and Laura, Adrian and their team coordinated care with the Hospice team to maximize the benefit, care and comfort for Mom. Attention was paid to every detail of Moms care. We, as a family, were kept informed with regular updates and we were always most welcome at Golden Cottage. The facility itself is spacious, well appointed, sparkling clean and filled with the scents of home-cooked meals. You can see the lovely, special rapport between the owners, staff and each resident.
