Bloomsdale Seniors Home is truly a home away from your home. I had my aunty stay there on a respite for two months. The care and love shown to her was top notch. Amazing staff, friendly and lovely home. Their food is home made.

My dad was there briefly as a transition placement while waiting for a place in LTC. Kate and the staff showed a lot of care about him as a person as well as his assistance needs. It was such a great landing spot after being in the hospital for an extended time.

This is an actual home which was perfect for my mom. Her bedroom overlooked the backyard which brought her great joy. Kate and the staff are amazing people. My mom had very specific needs which everyone knew and made her feel as part of a loving family. My mom thrived while she was there. Bloomsdale is a hidden gem and was a great transitional home for my mom.

I have moved both my parents into Bloomsdale about 3 months ago. I've taken time before I wrote a review. This is a wonderful place. Kate and her staff are fantastic. My parents are in a safe friendly environment. I get contacted whenever there may be a concern. The daily staff interact with my parents all the time and are very welcoming. I'm very comfortable with Bloomsdale and my parents are thriving.

Who are they paying for five-star reviews? The government, city of Whitby need to view and visit this place without an appointment. The money that comes into this care home goes somewhere else, not to the residents. This seniors' home is in need of proper renovations not friends to do the work. The outside is falling apart, the pool has not worked for years, there is work to be done in the backyard, the main washroom needs proper work and a place to rest items, and the laundry room needs more organizing. They wash residents' clothing sometimes together or mix up clothing. The staff put on TV shows for themselves, especially on Sundays. When residents mess themselves, they leave them until the PSW shows up, if they show up. They do not put away residents' clothing properly, either by hanging or folding it. Staff sometimes share residents' products with other residents and do not let family know they need to purchase more. You find that staff do not interact with residents, as they just sit in a chair and watch to ensure nobody exits the door, and the alarm does not work. They should provide snacks for residents throughout the day and just before bedtime.

Our Mom was looked after by Kate (owner) and team for 6 years. She recently passed away at 96 years old. All I can tell you is the care she received was outstanding! We highly recommend their services. You can’t go wrong. They became an extension of our family. Huge thanks to Kate and team!

** UPDATE** January 22, 2023. Our mother has been with Bloomsdale for 3 months now and the review I wrote 4 days after she moved to Bloomsdale still stands. Bloomsdale Seniors Home has exceeded our expectations. The staff are caring, friendly and like family. I highly recommend Bloomsdale Seniors Home for anyone in need of further care for their loved one. Bloomsdale Seniors Home has exceeded our expectations! It's a wonderful "home away from home" for our mother. We were needing to place our Mom in a facility for her safety and care. Thankfully we found Bloomsdale Seniors Home and moved our mother in 4 days ago. Our mother receives excellent care, home cooked meals and companionship all within a clean, safe and secure home environment. The staff provides care with empathy, respect and patience. Our Mom is happy in her new home with her Bloomsdale family. We expect this relationship with Bloomsdale Seniors Home to be a long lasting success. Thank you to Kate and the entire staff!

Honestly Bloomsdale is a great place if you want a familiar setting for your loved one. In my experience visiting there and just the whole accommodation process, the staff are really welcoming and lovely and the residents are all close. From all the terrible things I’ve heard about nursing homes I was worried at first but I can say from experience you’d feel comfortable leaving your loved one there.

Bloomsdale is a very special place. From the moment you arrive, you feel a cozy, peaceful "at home" vibe. I love watching the joy and happiness around the table when I work with the residents on arts and craft projects. It is wonderful to listen to their life stories as they apply their creativity to the art we do together. Bloomsdale is a perfect seniors home that considers every aspect of an elderly person's physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing.

Our Mother was a resident at Bloomsdale Seniors Home for 2 1/2 years until her recent passing. Bloomsdale provided the level of care she required in a friendly, supportive home environment. Mom spent her days reading, knitting and playing bingo with her Bloomsdale family. We would like to thank the staff and Kate for taking such good care of her, she was very happy there
