Maryland Gardens Post Acute has a wonderful and caring staff who are truly dedicated to the residents. I have had the pleasure and opportunity to see their staff in action when I visit my friend who resides there. It's a great relief to know she's in such good hands. Thanks to all the staff for their dedication and showing you care.

My dad is in skilled nursing currently on hospice and getting great care by all staff members which includes: wound care, cleaning staff, nurses, CNA's and of course hospice. It would be amazing if they had private rooms or larger shared room for terminal patients. I feel like I am in the way and bothering his roommate by spending a lot of time with my dad. Although staff and residents have been very welcoming. In closing, a Heartfelt (((Thank You))) to MG for treating my dad with the dignity he (and every human) deserves when they are transitioning to whatever's next… XO

Maryland Gardens is the winner. After being bounced around multiple facilities and some not wanting to work with my mom after less than 12 hours, Maryland Gardens has risen to the challenge and made huge strides in helping my mom. They are willing to think outside the box and look at the whole person and not just one issue. They do more than make sure people are fed, bathed, and have their medications. Maryland Gardens make sure residents are safe, happy, and know that someone cares about them. The staff communicate quickly and understand the dynamics of having a loved one who needs extra support. They have great PT, OT, mental health & medical providers. The caregivers, MA's, CNA's, activities department and even accounting department are willing to talk to you to make sure you understand what's going on and are willing to answer questions. No regrets working with this fantastic team.

i will start by saying that the 2 star rating is just my observation. Im not sure about the whole facility i was only on the assisted living side. when i went i was greeted by the receptionist veronica she has a very bubbly personality i give her a 5 i really enjoyed her. the main office was very clean so that was pleasant administrator payed no mind to me and honestly whole time i was there i noticed she paid no mind to anyone i did see a caregiver approach her and the woman didnt even acknowledge her not even one look at her while she was talking just kept on walking from what i see everyone working on the assisted living side looks miserable to be there and i personally think its an administrators job to fix that you create bad employees from a bad boss cleanliness was a 4 i only seen one housekeeper and when i went up to her about my issue with my loved ones room she assisted it immediately and did an immense job I didnt get her name but she did mention she was the supervisor. The caregiver caring for my loved one did an immense job as well she really went above and beyond for him.

I have been with MG for 2.5 years! I have to say that the staff is awesome, we all have our differences, but we all work well together! The DON and Administrator are awesome! We are a small facility and the outside may look old, but it’s what’s on the inside that matters! We are a team!!! I stepped down from FT leadership to PRN for a dream job, but I would go back FT without a doubt if my dream job didn't work out!!! We are family!!! Love the MG facility & staff!!!

Although the building is older, they make up for it in many aspects. They have lots of activities for the residents to do, and since it’s an outdoor facility they get to enjoy the weather. For holidays they decorate very well and allow the residents to have smoking times. The staff to resident ratio allows for residents to get better care, and more frequently.

I have been here over 23 years and have seen alot of changes in that time. There have been ups and downs as with any place but we have staff here that really care for our residents and put their hearts and hard work into trying to give our residents the best quality of life possible.

I am giving Maryland Gardens 5 stars because there is no facility that gives more heart, strength, and determination, despite the obstacles that it faces then this place. Its not easy working on any behavioral unit. It can be very challenging both emotionally and physically at times. We at Maryland Gardens do our best each and every day to make it home. And will continue to do everything in our power to find solutions and ideas that will make it an even better place to heal and call home. I was just asked today what I thought would make it even better. The management team is incredible. They ask and listen, and thats impressive. I am a CNA at Maryland Gardens and have worked here for over a year. Nurses and CNAs have so much heart and are truly incredible at what they do. The activities department is wonderful - from meditation, to trips out, to ordering take out, to amazing crafts. The Church across the street helps us all to make it an amazing place at Christmas time. The housekeeping girls work so hard. Office staff are so kind and fun. The kitchen staff are fantastic. So kind and helpful in each residents dietary needs. The maintenance men really care about the residents and are so quick to fix any issues. Social services is so good at what they do. There have been many updates to the property, like a beautiful new generator, new railings, etc. Many are in the works, like a new patio cover, paint job etc. Speaking of, the outdoor environment is beautiful and the patio has misters for those hot days. Im so lucky to have a great group of people to work with, and a great group of people to care for. The residents make me laugh almost everyday with such spirit despite the obstacles they face. 5 stars to Maryland Gardens for your amazing effort each and every day. Its a pleasure working for you. I almost never give reviews on anything, but seeing the ratings and knowing the care and effort that is put in to this place I felt like I needed to speak up and say Maryland Gardens deserves 5 stars for determination and care all across the board. Great Job!

I heard this place was closed!! Omg! My sis was here short time! Anyone who leaves a family member here..Shame on you! One incident...they said she had fallen. When I went there...she was covered in bruises and wouldnt talk. The memory care unit was unsafe. You cant lock apt.doors and ppl would just walk in, take my sisters food, Smear poop on the walls...many were violent. Worse than a prison, at least the inmates there can lock their cells...

Let me start by saying that haters will be haters and regardless of the truth they will always find a way to make themselves look and feel better by making others look bad. They will also throw others under the bus to save themselves.Maryland Gardens is under fairly new leadership and the current DON has only been there a few months. I think its safe to say that she has inherited a mess that cannot be fixed overnight. However, it can and will be fixed by removing the bad seeds before they continue to spread their negative attitudes and resistance to change.Change was definitely needed at Maryland Gardens. As I read some of these reviews, I know many are not truthful and are written by disgruntled current-former employees. Just to address a few: Sunny Arizona - falls are not acceptable or tolerated by the DON or administrator and if a fall does occur in front of her or not it is immediately addressed! Staff are continuously educated on how to be more proactive and prevent falls from occurring. Ebony Hudson - Maryland Gardens wasnt under great leadership before the current administrator or DON arrived but it is now. Im sorry you cant handle the truth. Im sure it was difficult for you to now be expected to do your job correctly - what a concept! Shelly Hicks - you were told that a resident beat another resident and when it was reported to vicki and katie they told the nurse not to write it up - seriously?? Based on your comment you werent there and are relying on what someone else told you - let me guess they dont like the current leadership either? I have witnessed an incident where a resident attacked another resident. The DON responded immediately and assisted staff to get the situation under control and the residents evaluated for any injuries. All policies and procedures were followed in a timely manner and the appropriate people-agencies were notified. The police showed up shortly after the incident to take police reportsChange was needed and change for the better is what Maryland Gardens is getting. If you cant handle being expected to do your job correctly or being disciplined when you dont....then leave - go be lazy and uncaring somewhere else because the residents deserve betteatie and Vicki are the breath of fresh air this place desperately needed. They care about their residents and their staff providing the best care. Things wont always be perfect and there will always be bumps in the road but give them a chance.

I used to work for a group home for women in the 1990s. One of my clients was transferred to this facility. The rooms were like little cottages. The staff had no idea I was coming. It was a surprise visit. I saw my former client, gave her a hug, and her hair was damp, clean, and she smelled like soap and shampoo. I was impressed! 🙂
