I am writing to share my positive experience with Catalina Springs Memory Care (CSMC). As both a daughter-in-law and a caregiver with experience in various facilities in Florida and Tucson, I find that CSMC is by far the best fit for individuals with memory issues. I visit my father-in-law, LD, two to three times a week. His son visits on the weekends. While LD does not participate in every activity, the variety available allows him to choose what he enjoys. There are opportunities for outings as well. I have observed that the staff personally connects with every resident, and I am always greeted warmly upon arrival. I have come to know most of the caregivers by name and find the team to be both open to feedback as well as supportive during moments when I feel overwhelmed. Hugs for me are always a plus. It is an emotional time of life as I love my father in law and want what's best for him. Although LD has only been at CSMC for six months, We are confident he is in the best possible environment for the level of care he requires. My husband and I also appreciate the many opportunities for family involvement; we have enjoyed attending holiday dinners and appreciate being welcomed for meals. It is best to let the caregivers know ahead of time so they can tell the chef so he can prepare. The environment is one of home. It is a fluid place with many different residents in different stages of their lives. The care given is respectful, knowledgeable and might I add fun and humorous. I have seen staff deflect and redirect residents when necessary. I applaud the team for all their compassion and energy that pours into our loved ones. There is also a Support Group that meets monthly. I have participated so far in two of them and plan to continue. I would suggest visiting and seeing if this is a fit for your loved one. We worked with Sonoran Senior Solutions and after visiting other places we know that Catalina Springs Memory Care was the best for LD and us!

I can’t say enough great things about the leadership here, especially Bridget Delaney the Assistant Executive Director. Her level of professionalism, compassion, and dedication truly stands out. There are many great activities and events daily. The food is always delicious and the residents are always provided with the best care from all staff members.

I can’t say enough good things about Catalina Springs Memory Care. The level of compassion and respect the staff shows to every resident is truly outstanding. You can tell they genuinely care, and it creates such a warm, supportive environment for everyone who lives there. One of the things that really stands out is how well the residents are treated on a daily basis”with patience, kindness, and dignity always at the forefront. It gives families real peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in such good hands. The activities department also does an amazing job. There are so many fun and engaging activities every week that keep residents active, social, and smiling. I recently visited Catalina Springs I do have to say Melissa, the activities Director and her staff do an amazing job with activities. The residents are engaged all day long. The activities she provides is joyful and up lifting. I would also like to recognize the Nursing director Tia, she is an amazing nurse. She’s very attentive to the residence and their needs. She is one of a kind she is willing to get on the floor and help her staff all the time. Also her staff is very friendly and always going above the call of duty

My husband has been a resident of Catalina for a couple of months, and I am so pleased with the care his is receiving. The Staff are friendly, aware, observant and kind. It impresses me that the entire staff, no matter their tasks, are aware of and interact with residents. My Mom has been at Catalina Springs for a few years. It is a great place for your loved one needing memory care, and is probably the best in the Tucson area. *Staff are truly caring and compassionate, and several have been there for a long time. *Meals are an excellent combination of soup or salad, a variety of main courses, and dessert. *Activities are tailored to residents of all memory care levels. There is always something going on whether it is a birthday, ice cream social or live music. *Families are encouraged to get involved. I helped start up a family support group that meets monthly. Check it out.....it's a place that will take great care of your loved one!

Joe is a great manager of the facility and while there is some turnover in care giving staff, they were always attentive and caring. Seniorly helped me find a place for my Mom when we moved to Tucson. They listened carefully to what we were seeking and I was not disappointed. Catalina Springs focusses exclusively on memory care and it is apparent in the approach of the staff to residents. They patiently redirect residents in a manner that does not challenge their dignity. They meet residents "where they are" in their journey of losses due to dementia. The team paid close attention to our goals of care which were to remain as active and engaged in day to day life by attending to what interested Mom. They work to build a sense of community among residents and family members who visit. It works! My goal was to find a place where Mom did not have to make any further moves. When the time came the facility and staff coordinated with hospice so that staff that knew and came to love my Mother cared for her until the end of her life. Particularly for individuals with dementia changes in environment and staffing are distressing. Mom and I were cared for by the community that Catalina Springs philosophy promotes. The current director leads by example as she listens to and celebrates the uniqueness of each resident and family.

The caregivers at Catalina Springs are wonderful. They are always polite and pleasant with the patients, and take extra care to see the residents receive a pleasant word. My Charlotte has been there for a month, and we are starting to see signs of adjustment to living there; the caregivers contribute the largest part of that. I hope they keep it up and make everyone feel more at home.

Our mother is a resident. The staff is always friendly and treats the residents with compassion. The facility is clean and secure. During the current pandemic they provide Skype calls with the residents. For special occasions e.g., birthdays, they provide Zoom calls so the entire family can take part. The resident nurse and med techs are always happy to discuss with us our mother's condition, needs, medical care when needed. Activities to stimulate residents interest are planned every day.

Taking care of people with dementia is one of the hardest jobs in the world and the staff at Catalina Springs does it very well. My sister-in-law was there for about six months, and she was not an easy resident to deal with, given the nature of her condition. But the staff consistently showed patience, understanding and humor in managing her and her illness and were incredibly responsive to our many questions and phone calls. Because we live 2000 miles away, my husband called frequently to get updates on his sister's condition. The nursing head always made time to talk to us, give us updates and work with us to address any ongoing issues. We came to rely on her good judgment, long experience and proactive suggestions. We were equally impressed with the facility's executive director who brings a calm demeanor and clear expertise to his work and to addressing resident issues. It is a well-managed place. When we recently visited the facility, we found it immaculate, nicely decorated, comfortable and homey -- not at all institutional in look or feel. Having a family member in an assisted living facility isn't easy, but Catalina Springs makes it much easier than it could otherwise be.

From when you first walk into Catalina Springs Memory Care you are welcomed with a warm smile and a heartfelt greeting. My husband has been part of this wonderful community for a little over five months and there has never been a time that I have been disappointed . What has impressed me the most is the energetic enthusiasm of the entire management team which translates into caregivers who genuinely enjoy where they are working. Along with passion for their profession and absolute concern for their residents a family atmosphere created here is second to none! As my husband advances through the stages of Alzheimer's I am grateful that I found the Catalina Springs Memory Care. Through this community I have gained the strength and compassion to deal with my own situation as well as other residents and their family members. My idea of memory care facilities has been completely transformed from a catatonic life to an active lifestyle . Each resident is brought into an activity and encouraged to participate in any way that they can. The entire staff exemplifies professionalism at every level and continually amazes me with their positive energy and continual patience. I am proud to call Catalina Springs Memory Care my husband's home.

Let me start by saying, there are a few decent, really nice people here. We really like Terry and Seanashya. In the few weeks my father has been here, they have mistakenly given him SOMEONE ELSE'S MEDS, which of course is a big deal. He was fine, but the fact that it even occurred is a cause for HUGE concern. Even my fathers' nurse said she needed to "rip them a new one" as this is a big, big deal. Secondly, my family and I showed up for the morning "exercise time" so we could see what all they did with the residents, and there was NO EMPLOYEE PRESENT during the so-called "exercise time", just a You Tube video on while the residents sat in their wheelchairs/or seats, eyes closed. It was most disappointing. My husband's main comment is that he does not see what exactly they are doing to differentiate themselves as a 'memory Care' facility from those facilities that are simply convalescent homes. I will say it appears clean, the wonderful front desk staff helps me talk with my father, but we are disappointed so far that requests for physical movement have not been met.
