My mother-in-law has been in El Rio going on 3 years. It was a difficult decision that my husband and his 3 siblings had to make but she is receiving the best possible care!! She is still very active and healthy at 85 except for Alzheimer's. The staff are very caring and attentive, treating residents with respect!! The food served to the residents is excellent and nutritious. The entire facility is clean. If there are concerns the staff will follow up ASAP. It's not easy to see a chronic illness taking hold of your loved one but it's peace of mind that El Rio's staff provide us family members!! Shout out to the Amazing RITA

If you are reading this review, I am sympathetic for what you are going through…it's terribly difficult making the decision to move a loved one into a facility. When my mother started to require more care than we could provide her on our own, we finally started looking at the options for a patient who requires memory care. Unfortunately, most the facilities we toured were pretty grim…institutional, grimy, no personality, and the poor residents seemed to match their surroundings. That wasn't the case at El Rio. From A-Z we found the environment, the care of the staff, the size and arrangement of the rooms, far superior to whatever else was on the market. Yes, it's more expensive, but when we considered the differences it was a relatively easy decision. My mother has been a resident for just two weeks. Our family visits her often and we often leave El Rio so grateful for the service and care that they provide our mother. It's a tough job and they do it with compassion and zeal. They genuinely care for the residents and the organization is clearly dedicated to making both the lives of their residents' and their visiting families as pleasant as possible. As hard as it is, it's nice to know that we are doing all we can to make my mother comfortable and secure. She deserves it.

Recently visited El Rio to see a family friend. From the time driving onto the property with the serene landscaping, to going into the building, it all felt like a resort. The staff were super friendly and sweet and you can tell their care is authentic and not an act for visitors. Thanks for taking such good care of all your residents! A gem in the Central Valley for sure.

My aunt lives at The Park. She absolutely loves it. Everytime we visit we always have a pleasant experience with staff. Tonight's Graffiti Event was so fun. Looking forward to next year already!

The staff are respectful, compassionate, and professional. They keep residents socially engaged and physically active, which is so important for loved ones with dementia. Home cooked meals are healthy and tasty. I highly recommend El Rio for memory care.

I w s very fortunate to take a tour of El Rio Memory Care and I just can't say enough about how well it is operated. I enjoyed meeting the caring staff and learning how the patients are given just about everything you could need from makeovers, to entertainment , trips, great food and just knowing that you are treated just like family is priceless.

I can't say enough about the wondeful staff at El Rio Memory Care Community. They are caring and compassionate, friendly and professional. The resident's rooms are lovely and spacious, and there's a beautiful outdoor area for residents to enjoy. El Rio offers a full day of activities so that residents are kept busy throughout the day. My mother-in-law was admitted over two years ago and she's always treated with care and respect. If you're looking for a memory care community in the Modesto area, please consider El Rio. El Rio Memory Care has by far set the gold bar standard beyond expectation for Seniors with Alzheimer's, Dementia and memory loss. With Executive Director Mary on-site, residents are sure to receive personalized support and top-notch guidance from this caring staff on the daily! My best friend's mother suffered a stroke that left her overwhelmed with worry and uncertainty about her aftercare and living situation when rushed to discharge from the hospital. But after just one phone call to Tiffany, Director of Community Relations all the guesswork and stress she was faced with was lifted from her! They made sure each critical step was covered to bring her mother to El Rio where she's extremely happy to be today. With Chef inspired meals from their culinary team to the beautiful luxury floor plans, together the staff strives to deliver Specialized Memory Care to their residents. Each time I visit I see the kindness and compassion it takes as a clear indication of their purpose to bring joy and a true sense of happiness to each and every person. El Rio Memory Care...what better place to be!!!

We had to place my mother into memory care a couple years before her death. We chose El Rio based on substantial positive feedback from friends and acquaintances; we weren't disappointed. Placing a loved one in memory care is a difficult decision and action. A person with dementia likely won't be aware of their condition, and will resist being removed from familiar surroundings (and will often resist assistance from family and friends). But, eventually it may be the only option to keep the loved one (reasonably) healthy and safe. El Rio provided excellent care, and showed they really cared for their patients (clients?). It's a difficult task, but the El Rio employees were more than up to it.

I have had two different stays here and I can't even begin to tell you how caring the staff was during my stays. Mary and Tiffany are pure angels and have a passion for the work they do to help patients have a better quality of life. I and my family are forever grateful that El Rio was there for me when I so desperately needed them.

First-class community providing excellent care, even when that care is not simple to give. My father has been a resident here for several years. As soon as he moved in, he settled down after years of stress problems. The caregivers work hard (in a challenging job), the food is good (often "great"), and he loves the facility. I highly recommend the El Rio for senior care.

I'm a delivery driver and I can say El Rio is my favorite stop to deliver on my route. The staff there are amazing, they don't see me as just a delivery driver they see me as their delivery drive. They always take care of all the drivers during the the hot summers days with ice cold water and snacks. Little things like this always matters to me that they would go out of their way to do this for us. The staff is always friendly and they have a amazing positive energy every time I show up

I have been a part of the El Rio team for almost a year, and it has been great. The ED does staff appreciation ideas at least every 3 months plus she is always giving out gratitude to staff for their hard work. As a DRS I feel I have the support from our ED and corporate to be flexible with schedule as needed for staff to finish their career goals. We Just recently had 3 employees graduate from nursing school and 2 have became nurses in the community. I am happy to say where I work very proudly with the team I have helped build along the way. The staff truely care and love what they do.

Showering the residents, staff, and families with my love and appreciation is the absolute best part of my day!! Words cannot really describe the loving care and concern for my Aunt during the time she lived at El Rio. From the moment I spoke to them to set up a tour, throughout the entire entry process everyone was so helpful and kind. Then once Aunt Shirley arrived and lived there I never once doubted that she was in the best care. Everyone referred to her as Aunt Shirley and I think she really loved that. She is a fiesty one at times and can be a little difficult to handle, however the staff was always kind, loving and did their best to get her to participate in activities. Our family is extremely grateful for the amazing care she received while she was there. She would still be staying there today had we not had to relocate our family to another state. Even during that process we found a sister location to El Rio and it's just as wonderful!! Thank you Mary and Rita for always being THE BEST and helping me so many times during the time Aunt Shirley lived there! Always think of you as family!!

Our mom has been a resident for the last 15 months. We are so very grateful for the loving, compassionate care she received while she was a resident. Hearing her say many, many times," Everyone is so kind to me here" was a gift any family would want. When you admit your loved one to Memory Care it is a very huge step, and our family is so grateful for the care all of you gave to our mother. This place is wonderful. My Mom loved it there and everyone took such great care of her. They offer a lot of activities and the staff were so kind to the residents. When my mom was confused thinking staff was family, they just acted like family and kept her so happy. I cant say enough about the staff, management and activities. I highly recommend this place!

After realizing the awesome responsibility of caring for an elderly parent with some age related dementia, we were fortunate to find El Rio. The decision to move a parent to a facility is never easy but it was a decision that we never regretted thanks to the amazing staff at El Rio. We will be forever grateful for the love and care our father was shown even when he made it difficult. The staff never seems to lose sight of the people their residents were and they always show them the respect and kindness they deserve. Our family needed assistance with the care of our mom, and El Rio Memory Care provided immediate assistance, and transitioned our mother into their care and she quickly became their family as well. They ensured her safety with round the clock check ins, nutritious food, and snacks. This facility is beautifully furnished to feel like home. I would highly recommend them.

Originally we moved our mom to another facility in Modesto when she needed a locked memory care unit. She was not happy there. She cried a lot, had unexplained bruises on her arms and was just angry most of the time. Plus she was escaping from the locked memory care unit. After her last escape we went to see if El Rio was complete and ready to take residents. They were having an open house the day we went. Immediately we knew she needed to be moved there. Once their license was approved she moved in. She smiled a lot, danced, had activities all the time and was clean and well cared for. A few months later her husband was able to move in with her. They were so LOVED, and CARED for that we never worried about them. The staff are exceptional in caring for memory care patients and go above and beyond what our previous experience was. As a result our parents were able to spend the last 18 months of their lives together. We will be forever grateful to El Rio and their staff. Thank you.

My mom spent just over a year here and the staff were loving, kind hearted and so compassionate. They served healthy fresh food. In response to anothers complaint, there were incidences when other residents wandered into the wrong rooms, but its a memory care facility. What do you expect? Most residents barely recognize their own family. After that, the resident doors were locked when they were out. Problem solved. I highly recommend this facility! Its a beautiful peaceful place with a lot of activities to keep residents stimulated. My mom loved the singing and games! And she especially loved all the staff.

My dad is placed here and, as an aside, my family has been involved in running a large number of nursing care facilities throughout our life. I was blown away with the quality, compassion and high level of standards offered by El Rio. These people get it! Unfortunately many people do not get it and have no idea what the alternatives are like. We are eternally grateful to El Rio for their lovingkindness in accommodating my father so he can live out life with the highest quality possible. Praise God for places like El Rio that care for our loved ones when it is not feasible for family members to do so. Keep up the good service.

The care my Dad has received at the El Rio has been nothing but top notch. We have found the staff to be friendly and supportive and the facility is beautiful and very well maintained. It is obviously that the owners and leadership take great pride in providing exceptional care and service to all the residents of the facility. Our family would like to apologize to the El Rio for the disparaging remarks left in an earlier review by Carolyn Risen, an out of state sister of my Dads. She has had limited exposure to the facility or my Dads care.

It was a heartwrenching decision when it came time to possibly placing my mother-in-law, Ann somewhere. We searched for a place that would be a benefit to her. A place with a caring staff, cleanliness, activities, support for our family, and consciousness when it came to taking care of the medical, physical, safety, and emotional needs of the residents. That is what we found at El Rio. Alzheimers and Dementia robs families of so much. It is a very long goodbye.
