Excellent, caring staff!
February 2026
Edited to add in February 2026: My mom has been a resident at Willowbrook for nearly two years now. I can’t think of a better place for her. Every person there cares for her and loves her and they provide what I cannot. I am eternally grateful for the people I have met there and the people my mom trusts. 2024: Willowbrook is a really beautiful Memory Care community that strives to make every residents’ “twilight walk” as comfortable and home-like as possible. The staff is patient and caring and kind and the daily activities are fun and engaging. They truly understand that people with Dementia need a purpose and reason to leave their room and things to do during the day. We are so happy to have our family member here. We moved mom out of a previous memory care facility on the other side of town, over to Willowbrook so that we would have her closer…it has been wonderful in every way. Our family can visit much more often because she’s so close and I actually WANT to go see her because the community and staff are so welcoming. Additionally, they offer support groups and seminars to understand Dementia better and learn more as someone involved in mom’s care. We are so grateful for Willowbrook.

The facility and staff, both management and care providers were excellent and exhibited a true interest in each resident. Can’t say enough about Willowbrook Place’s professional care and loving attitude toward residents and their caregivers
January 2026
As someone who has a lot of memory care experience, I can say confidently that I would highly recommend Willowbrook place to anyone looking for memory care.

A beautiful community with caring staff, especially suited to Alzheimer’s.

This is gonna be a long one ... Willowbrook Place Memory Care is the most amazing place I have found to date. I recently moved my mother here from California where I thought, after seeing some 40 + facilities, I had chosen a good one. I was wrong. The first time I walked into Willowbrook Place I could FEEL the difference. The lobby area is small but warm and welcoming. But the people that work there... Anna was the first person that I really spoke with, and she was amazing. Exceptionally well educated on dementia, the very first thing she did was ask extremely pertinent questions about my mom's functioning and where I thought she was at. She actually listened to every response I gave, made fantastic eye contact, and showed more compassion than I had seen in anyone for quite some time. I actually went back for a second walkthrough but this time I took my sister thinking, maybe I had missed something, nothing could really be as good as I thought this place was. Yet again, I was wrong. My sister got the exact same feeling that I'd had so I made the decision to move Mom from California to Willowbrook Place. The change in my mother is PROFOUND! In California my mother was very angry, she shuffled when she walked, they were trying to convince me she was incontinent, and all she ever did was exit seek, according to them. Additionally she had lost over 60 lb in the last 8 months and the staff was blatantly unaware that her clothes didn't fit. At Willowbrook Place my mom is a completely different person! She is happy, she is bright, there is no exit seeking, she is not incontinent, she is eating, and she is thrilled to death every time I see her. She is always engaging in just about every activity they have, to include off-site activities with no problems, she is on less than half the medication she was on previously, and no one has reported any kind of issue to me with her behavior. Maybe it's the programming, maybe it's the fact that every single person that works there is educated about dementia specifically, but personally I think it's the Dedication, Heart, and absolute refusal to allow anything less than compassion, awareness, and competence from their coworkers. Lebana, the director of this Memory Care has created a FAMILY that includes every staff member, every resident, and every one of their family members as well. This is no easy feat, and every time I walk in there I am blown away by the peace and the joy that I see in every single resident not just my mom. Most of us can tell when people are being "fake nice", I have never seen that here. What I have seen is actual human beings caring for other human beings, like Dylan, whose name I'm not sure I spelled correctly, he was the first Care staff member that I met when I was moving mom in. With all his piercings and tattoos he has my heart, and my guess is, the heart of every person that he works with. On top of all of this they have an app that family members can use to communicate with care staff, or any staff really. They let you know daily what your loved one has engaged in, they send pictures, The answer questions, it's fantastic! They also have events that include family like Christmas in July, and I believe there's a garage sale coming up. THEY EVEN HAVE A SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY MEMBERS. They do everything possible to keep family engaged, while providing the most amazing care for our loved ones with dementia. I will be forever grateful for Lebana, and every single staff member that has chosen to followed her lead in caring for, what I believe to be, the world's most vulnerable population. And specifically, my Mom, who earned every second of being treated with respect and dignity and compassion. If you are considering memory care for your loved one I would absolutely include Willowbrook Place in the list of places that you interview. I believe you will see the difference and your decision will be made for you. Edit: Just to be clear, when I said Dylan has my heart, it's because of his authenticity and his dedication.... Nothing more nothing less.

A shoutout to Leia the kindest and most thoughtful person that I have ever met. Also, I would like Anna to know what a difference she has made in my life. It was Anna’s kindness and sympathetic interaction that helped me get through many difficult times after I placed my wife at Willowbrook Place. Anna kept close contact with me to show me how well my wife was adjusting to her new environment. I am very impressed with Leslie Rusher my wife’s care giver. She is a thoughtful caring person. She keeps me updated on my wife’s activities through GOICON. She will be getting my wife ready for the May 17th prom. She takes a lot of burdens off my chest.

The Staff is incredible and outings are fantastic! The food however is atrocious beyond belief. Cold food, Cold soup, cold eggs, tasteless slop. Why? Once in awhile a decent meal is served or homemade pie but the majority of time the food is not edible unless you don't have tastebuds or eyes. We have reported this many many times with no change. WHY is this allowed to happen? This is a disgrace to our loved ones! It is very common place to hear other resident's loved ones complaining and refusing to eat the food served. Fix this now! I served for 26 years in the US Military and always had better food than this slop!
February 2025
My wife Nancy Gail lives here and I'm grateful for the community she is in and the people who take care of her in comfort her. I want to recognize Reina and Zeke for helping Nancy to organize her clothing and keep her room organized and tidy. I want to recognize and thank Amanda for dancing with Nancy, because she has always enjoyed music and dancing. And thanks to all of the staff.

My husband moved into Willowbrook after being at a combined assisted living/ memory care where he was basically left alone in his room most of the time. Since moving to Willowbrook he has become more interactive and happy. The staff, especially Angi- who is always smiling and caring; Daniella is very kind and helpful, Raina is always ready and willing to help The chefs are outstanding- Jackie especially always fixes wonderful soup which my husband loves! No facility is perfect, but Willowbrook comes close. I'm thankful that we found it- and Anna was a huge influence in that decision!
November 2024
We just finished a fantastic Thanksgiving spread. Hats off to the food service staff Jackie, Ray, and Damari. It was great! Thank you!
November 2024
At this time of year I give thanks for Donna's morning crew (Tim, Bridgett, Desiree, and Arleth) and the best of her evening crew (El, Tani and Tony) . They are all skilled and so kind to her. Thank you all, and happy Thanks giving to the entire staff here.
November 2024
After remove for our mother after a sadly unprofessional place, I came across Willowbrook. It has been an amazing experience with wonderful caregivers and staff. Those who take care of my mom, including Angela, Leah, Tim, Desi Danielle, El, Tani, Tony and Amanda and not to mention the incredible. Kitchen staff of Jackie. Zeke, and Ray. This facility is absolutely the best. Everyone from management and caregivers to all the others who care and take care of others. I couldn't have asked for a better home away from home for our mom. I think the heavens every day for a place like this
May 2024
I first found Willowbrook during the pandemic. I followed their social media account and saw how creative and supportive they were of their residents during the quarantine, which was no easy task. When it was time for me to find a memory care facility for Dad with dementia, Willowbrook was one of the first places I toured. After touring 6 other places I realized how amazing Willowbrook is compared to others. Their facility is designed in a circle so residents can walk continually and not get "stuck or lost." The activities they have daily are varied and suitable for any level of capability. The ratio of staff per resident is wonderful, and they are so well trained. They are able to handle dementia behaviors in such a a caring way. Not to mention the additional staff of physical and occupational therapists also, all in house. Anna spent 2 hours with me, interviewing me and asking about my Dad's care needs. On my tour, two different residents told me how happy they were to live there. I ultimately needed to put my Dad somewhere else because he has Type II Diabetes. Willowbrook has excellent medication management, but can't do insulin injections at this time. If medical needs were not an issue, I would have chosen Willowbrook hands down. Anna has continued to help me with support groups and Dementia education which has been phenomenal. What I've learned has helped me to be a more compassionate caregiver and has equipped me. I'm so grateful.
February 2024
I wanted to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Willowbrook place. We were facing a similar crisis to that discussed by others on this forum, and Willowbrook came to mom's rescue almost overnight. Since moving in last month, i've been in almost constant contact with the Director, the Welcoming Director and the Wellness staff. After over 3 years of memory care I now know what treatment and care looks like. Thank you Willowbrook Place.
February 2024
Willowbrook has been great. Staff is friendly and been great with my mother. Highly recommended.
February 2024
I cannot say enough about the quality of care our mom received at Willowbrook. Everyone who works there is kind, compassionate, and responsive to their patients' needs. I never heard or saw any of them act negatively toward their residents, only with gentle loving kindness, and encouragement while maintaining the residents' dignity every time. They did everything in their power to make my mom comfortable in her last days, and she always spoke highly of the staff as they engaged in conversation. We were fortunate to have a great experience there and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for placement for their loved one. They will be loved there.
November 2023
Insanely clean comfortable and sincerely appropriate for your loved ones to call home
November 2023
Faced with hard decisions, this group of amazing people takes the heartache and turns it around, to be a beautiful thing. They are always willing to answer questions. They also have educational evenings that helps through times. They are the full package.
November 2023
My family could not be happier with the care that our “dad/grandpa “ is receiving at Willow Brook. The staff is always friendly and easy to communicate with. Not only that the understanding and compassion they have for our loved one is hands down the best I have seen. Unfortunately this is the 3rd family member we have had to place in memory care and I wish the other two members could have went here.
November 2023
At the end of this summer, my siblings and I were faced with making the difficult decision of whether or not to move our Dad to a memory care facility. We were in an emergency situation on a Friday afternoon scrambling for help. We were fortunate to have the caring and professional staff at Willowbrook guide us through the emotional transition. Anna and Lebana worked with us over the weekend to get Dad moved in by Sunday evening. In addition to helping us work through the logistics, they did everything in their power to provide the emotional support we all needed. Dad quickly settled in at Willowbrook. Part of the intake process was completing a comprehensive questionnaire pertaining to Dad's meal requirements, medical needs, hobbies, family, social activities and other interests. When he moved in, they already had a plan in place to help him adjust. The staff is kind and professional. They never hesitate to address any questions or concerns we have, even providing personal cell phone numbers to call if we needed anything. Anna took phone calls from us while she was on a camping trip! I've also gotten text messages from Dad from staff cell phones and photos of activities Dad is doing. It's so nice to get a message or picture and to see my father smiling. Dad is THRIVING at Willowbrook. He has been there for about 3 months now. After getting him back on a normal routine and providing nutritious meals, he's looking like my Dad again...and he is happy! I can't say enough about the Willowbrook facility and the caring staff that are taking care of my Dad. We feel fortunate to have found Willowbrook. They have made this difficult and emotional transition a pleasant experience for Dad and my siblings and me. I feel confident he is in a safe and caring environment where he will flourish.
June 2023
I had the daunting task of finding a memory care facility that could care for my aunt when I live in another state. Willowbrook has been a Godsend. The staff are wonderful, great communication and follow-through. Virtually all medical care comes to the facility, so no logistics issues with dentist, podiatrist, dr., etc. And best of all, my aunt is happy there. She currently has higher cognitive functioning than some others, and that can be challenging. But she remains engaged with the activities and interacts will with the caregivers.
June 2023
My mother in law has been living at the Willowbrook facility in Littleton for over two years now & she is thriving! She is in several photos on their Facebook page, always smiling! The staff provides nutritious meals three specific times a day, plus snacks. They also have many activities for all to enjoy daily, including bingo, musical guests and even "road trips"! The director and staff are very knowledgeable regarding how to handle memory loss. They are kind, compassionate and very caring. We LOVE Willowbrook in Littleton! We highly recommend it.
May 2023
Having worked as a caregiver in multiple facilities and in private residences, I have found Willowbrook Place a good facility for those families who have a loved parent with various medical and stages of the different variants of dementia! The ratio of staff/caregivers and third party medical support staff is very good based on their patients group size and various conditions. It’s a smaller facility but in my view this is a good thing! The staff is professional, welcoming and most importantly available to the patient and their families and and their concerns about the patients wellbeing and of their families is paramount to Willowbrook! Larger facilities are not necessarily better at being best for certain patients! Thank you to all of the Willowbrook staff and third party caregivers and medical staff for taking good care of my father

Arieth Romo, you are very gifted. Thank you for your help this evening. Greatest place guys!

May 2023
Love this place and the people there! They have been taking wonderful care of my father...I may visit ANY time...I may bring in pizza and beer to watch a ballgame with him. I told them how he loved volunteering and helping people, and animals...one of the staff had brought in her dog to visit then had a situation and asked Pop to pets sit for a bit. It made his day! They are loving and caring!
May 2023
Having worked in senior living for several years, I had a basis for comparison before seeing Willowbrook for the first time and I have to say that I am impressed with this community. The staff were very warm and receptive upon arrival, and the building itself was immaculate and tastefully decorated. The sales director gave me a quick tour on short notice and accommodated any questions I had. The residents seemed so happy! One thing I took notice of was how pleasant and patient the care staff were when engaged in different activities with the residents. I believe face-to-face interactions and engagement are among the most important facets of senior living, so it was great to see that in abundance. Highly recommend!

Caring clean place
December 2022
I made quite an extensive search throughout the west Denver metro area when it became apparent that Memory Care was the only option for my Mom, and I am so glad that I found Willowbrook. Small enough for a personalized feel but large enough for professional services. Staff is very caring and the facility is clean and well taken care of. A miserable decision, but it was made much easier by my experience with Willowbrook.
November 2022
The patients are there because they are being robbed of their memories of their lives, loved ones. Little did we know the patients were going to be robbed of their money as well. I would not recommend Willowbrook to anyone.
October 2022
We had to move my dad from another memory care in Highlands Ranch as a result of a very traumatic situation that put him in the hospital for weeks. With the help of Ed Wagner (Assisted Living Locators), we were able to find Willowbrook and provide my dad with the care and environment he desperately needed. The adjustment period was not easy and the AMAZING staff at Willowbrook did not give up. They went above and beyond and treated my dad like he was family! I will be forever grateful to Beckie, Vickie, and Shannon for their knowledge, support, compassion, and patience. When it came time for Hospice, Willowbrook provided us with guidance and introduced us to Erica, who is truly a lovely human being! I highly recommend Willowbrook and their devoted staff to anyone who is trying to find memory care for their loved one. They provide a safe, loving, supportive and engaging environment for their residents and their families.
October 2022
My father has been a resident at Willowbrook Plan Community for almost 6 months since being diagnosed with a form of dementia. From day 1, the entire staff has been so supportive for both my father and the family. I am so appreciative that my father and family are not alone to navigate this difficult journey. Thank you!
September 2022
We moved Mom here after another very well know center in Highland's Ranch sent her to a hospital to 'adjust medications'. They had a labor shortage and mom needed more attention, so they sent her to a special hospital to be over drugged for their convenience - at our cost - then COVID hit and she had to stay there for months! When we figured out what they had done we were aghast and when she could be moved, brought her to Willowbrook Place. She couldn't walk or talk and the doctors said they had NEVER seen anyone be given such an extensive drug regimen (sickening, just to save money!). The folks at Willowbrook got her off the 'meds' and she was talking the next week and walking after a month or so. Willowbrook isn't fancy, but what really stood out is the staff, they make all the difference! She's advanced to Hospice level and they are taking GREAT care of her! We fear we would have lost Mom if we didn't get her to Willowbrook Place. Thanks to all the staff!!! They have hired some VERY SPECIAL people!
June 2022
Willowbrook lovingly helped us make quick arrangements during an emergency situation with my mom earlier this year. The administrative staff and caregivers are compassionate and involved with each resident, knowledgeable and focused on managing memory care issues, and very responsive as questions rise. There are many activities for the residents to participate in including outings to fun places in Littleton, music, walking club, bingo, flower arranging, and a beautiful outdoor courtyard to safely enjoy our Colorado weather. Our family highly recommends Willowbrook Place and their wonderful team of caring staff!
May 2022
We were recommended to Willowbrook Place by several different people, including those who work in the memory facility world. After lots of talking, texts, and phone calls we made the extremely emotional and difficult decision to place my mom in their care. Since arrival, the staff has been very communicative, helpful, compassionate, and kind. I bawled the first night we left my mom there and Vicki (one of the staff) stayed on the phone with me for almost an hour just talking to me and reassuring me. My mom took some time to adjust, but she seems to be doing well. The staff has been nothing short of amazing and everyone we have encountered has reinforced our great opinion of this place. The executive director, Denae is involved with the residents and takes my mom for walks outside. She is hands on and available to speak to any time! The same goes for Becky. She is the program director and she has taken me and my questions on more than once with absolute kindness and sincerity. The excruciating decision to place your loved one in memory care is certainly not to be taken lightly. I do believe we have found a wonderful facility for my mom and hope that this great experience continues.
April 2022
After thoughtful consideration and touring several Memory Care facilities in Littleton, my family chose Willowbrook Place for my dad, who suffered from Alzheimers. It was a gut wrenching decision, but we knew that Dad needed more help than what he was getting living independently; mostly isolated during COVID. We liked their philosophy, which included getting Dad outside of his room and involved in some social interactions. While there was a short time of adjustment, he transitioned extremely well into this new community. Before we knew it, he was coming out of his room for every single meal, was doing puzzles with other residents, and was just generally no longer isolated. I can not say enough about the staff at Willowbrook Place from the Executive Director, Danae, to Frank, the maintenance guy (he will do ANYTHING for you), to the nurses, to the activities staff, to the Occupational/physical therapy folks, and to the day to day caregivers. Was everything perfect? Nope. But, Danae and her staff were open to constructive criticism when any questions or concerns were raised and were responsive. I personally spent a lot of time in the facility as I live just down the road and so I can honestly say that the staff at Willowbrook were attentive, ensured safety of their residents, and were pleasant. We often celebrated the small victories together. The level of communication I received was beyond my expectations. Danae sends out a weekly email to update families, and more often, if needed. She and her staff offered up their cell phones and encouraged me to call or text when I had questions/concerns, and responses were timely. Once my dad took a turn for the worse, Shannon, the PA, contacted me and recommended we consider Hospice. I was a bit shocked, but in the end, she was absolutely right. Willowbrook works hand-in-hand with the Hospice folks and really provided the support, knowledge, and care that not only my dad needed at the end of his life, but also his family. If you are looking for a safe environment for your loved one, a place that will provide love, support, and engagement, and a place that you can trust, tour Willowbrook. Take time to speak with Danae and her staff. You will find compassionate and caring individuals.
October 2021
I recommend Willowbrook Place highly for memory care for your loved one. Each person gets good care and attention from a dedicated staff.
October 2021
Having prior experience with other facilities, as POA and Caregiver for my brother, who is dealing with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease, I wanted to comment on the high quality of care, the Willowbrook Place team has provided, since moving my brother there in January 2021. There is an obvious genuine commitment, to providing quality care for the residents, and supporting their family members. This is evident in the Willowbrook Place team culture, developed by the Exec. Director & Willowbrook Leadership Team, as they have worked to recruit, hire, and maintain a Care Team, with "the right kind of heart", and a level of care, compassion, and empathy for the residents. Ensuring them a quality life style. After working with the Willowbrook Place team, for almost 10 months now, I can attest to the fact that the Willowbrook Place team, will provide you peace of mind as a Caregiver, that your loved one is well cared for, in a safe and comfortable environment.

I had a family member at Willowbrook Place for almost a year. He could not have received better care. They were always very kind, compassionate and always interacting with all of the residents with activities and conversations. They were quick to respond to his need of in-home health care and his hospice care needs. If another family member ever needs memory care, Willowbrook will be the first facility I look to see if they have a vacancy.

April 2021
Willowbrook by Anthem Memory Care has one of the best teams of executives and caring staff in the entire metro area. Emily Oglesby is the 1st person you will meet when you come to their community and she sets the bar high for the most compassionate loving friend to the families of residents who reside there. I have known Emily for three years and she makes everyone she meets feel like they are the most important in the world, and to her, they are. Your loved one will be well cared for at this wonderful community!

Love, Love, Love!! The doctors, nurses and staff are wonderful!! They made the transition for our Dad so much easier and I highly recommend Willowbrook!
March 2021
About a month ago, my sister and I decided it was time for our dad to move into memory care. Such a tough decision to make but Willowbrook has been the best choice for our dad and us! From the moment he walked in they have done everything to make this part of his new life go smoothly. The peace of mind you get when you know your loved one is safe and taking very good care of is priceless. Emily does an amazing job at keeping us updated on his activities and sends us lots of pictures!! We would highly recommend Willowbrook for your loved ones!!
February 2021
From the first day I visited Willowbrook, I new it was the best place for my husband. I was totally devastated, but Emily knew how to relate and help me with my decision. I did not get to visit very much sadly, due to COVID, but the staff did everything they could to keep the residents safe and came up with amazing ideas, one being the pen pal initiative. It meant so much to my husband to have that connection with people who were kind enough to communicate. I so love seeing Glenn during a TV interview about it. I cannot give adequate praise to Angie, Emily, Justina, Samantha, Shawntelle, Barbara and so many others who cared so much.Thank you so much for making my husband's last year the best it could be with dementia.
January 2021
I moved my mom into Willowbrook place about 2 weeks ago, and it was the best decision I have made for her. After being in assisted living for a year, it was time to move her into memory care. However, I was hesitant to move her during Covid with all the restrictions so I didn’t. I waited...and waited while my mom continued to decline. I just didn’t want to move her into a place I could only see and experience virtually. I needed to feel first hand that the environment was right for her. However, I was immediately put at ease when I met Angie the Executive Director and Emily the sales manager at Willowbrook. I immediately knew they would take good care of my mom and they have. Willowbrook has gone above and beyond to ensure my mom is well-cared for and happy. They try to get to know her and her likes and even try to learn her language. They work daily to create moments of joy and make her and all residents feel loved and special. Willowbrook also provides a monthly support group for families which is also a great blessing as I have been looking for and have desperately needed help dealing with and understanding my mom’s dementia. Now, after 3 years of caring for my mom since my dad died, I can finally rest and have peace in my heart that my mom is happy and thriving once again. Thank you Willowbrook for this gift. If you are looking for a memory care facility for your loved one, I 100% recommend Willowbrook Place.

I can only say positive things about Willowbrook place. It's beautiful, clean and inviting. The staff are professional and compassionate. I'm truly thankful that the care my mother is receiving has elevated her quality of life.

Willowbrook Place is a wonderful facility, specializing in memory care. The staff take good care of the residents, have lots of fun activities, and the residents appear to be happy. The COVID pandemic has made visiting loved ones difficult, but they have gone the extra mile to help with video visits. I am so pleased with the care my wife has received there.

The staff is phenomenal and the care my grandmother is receiving is by far the best of anywhere else she’s been!

Moving our grandmother into Willowbrook was the best decision we made! Being out of state, we finally have peace of mind knowing she is safe and cared for, especially throughout this pandemic. The staff is kind and compassionate and they have made wonderful adjustments with COVID-19 to enhance residents' lives. She loves living there and raves about the delicious meals and the lovely care staff. Even though her memory is deteriorating with an Alzheimer's diagnosis, she is thriving! I would highly recommend this beautiful community to anyone looking!

I just wanted to give Willowbrook Place a huge THANK YOU! We placed our aunt here last February and the staff has been nothing but compassionate, caring and kind. Not just to our loved one that we had to place in memory care.... but to our Uncle. My aunt and uncle have been married for over 70 years and this has been a major adjustment for everyone. The staff has been so kind and caring to him as well as loving on our aunt suffering from Alzheimer's disease and not understanding why she is unable to go home to the love of her life. Making this decision did not come lightly, but knowing she is safe, comfortable, and around professionals that truly love her and take great care of her makes it a little bit easier.

I have been impressed with the quality of care provided at Willowbrook, especially in light of the Covid outbreak. The caregivers have had to take on quite a bit extra to provide the care necessary, especially since family members are not allowed to visit inside to continue to protect all of the residents from this pandemic. It was very proactive for Willowbrook to put preventative measures in place before most places in Colorado did. The fact that they have kept everyone there Covid-free is nothing short of amazing. The caregivers have gone above and beyond to provide access through Facetime and window visits. We are so very grateful!

I visited this community this past week and I was extremely impressed. The halls are bright and filled with laughter and love. Lots of happy noises. The staff was so friendly. And very attentive to the residents.

Willow brook Place has been my mothers home for 2 months. When I first came, after viewing a large majority of memory care options in Littleton, I was very nervous. I visited Willowbrook and was very welcomed by the staff. Unfortunately or fortunately the day of my moms arrival, there was some staff turnover. After meeting the new staff and getting to know them.... we and my mom feel very fortunate. Barb, the director, has a beautiful spirit. Jennifer, the RN is a real go getter and is extremely efficient! They have hired two Resident Care Coordinators, which are like assistant directors of nursing. The CNA's that are employed at Willowbrook are kind, many say they are called to work with seniors. PT and OT are wonderful. Michael, the Activities Director and his staff exceptional. Michael has been with Anthem for 6 years. My mom can be busy all day if she so chooses. Greg, the chef has been with Willowbrook since they opened. He is fantastic. They will assist you in setting up a specific diet for your loved one. They want to know likes and dislike. His food is delicious! Sherri, in Finance is very knowledgable and is also able to go on outings and enjoy the residents as well. CNA's have told me they love working there because it feels like home, not big business. My husband told me when I worried about the turnover, maybe now they've got the RIGHT staff.....and he was right! They are still growing and this is why I gave them a 4. Always room for growth. I just attended my first Family Council meeting. Very informative! They are really interested in feedback so they can continue to grow. If you are searching, thought this might help. Kindly, Suzanne

My Mom was in this facility for 9 months. She just passed away. They have had a couple of changes to the Executive Director and the Nurse. I do know they are understaffed as it is difficult to hire good caregivers in today's competitive environment. This is the only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 star. The caregivers that are there are AMAZING! The care and LOVE my mom received was so comforting. They were always checking on my mom and were there to assist her very quickly even though they were understaffed. I feel that if you communicate with them in a caring manner you will be very satisfied with the care your loved one receives. The staff really does go above and beyond the call of duty to help the people they are caring for.

My mom lived here for a year before she passed. It was wonderful. Great staff. I never had any issues and all my concerns were addressed. I would highly recommend. The caregivers and all staff are top-notch and my mom was happy to live here.

When my friend was placed here over 1 1/2 ago by her family the people were nice to her and the family got communication from one of the male care givers on a regular basis. After he left there was NOTHING. I, now and another family member are doing the communication. The ones in the front are the only people I have been able to connect with. They have changed the people in the back several times. So now I know NO one. My friend tells me of situations of intimidation by this new group. This is her home as it is and her room her space. As long as it's not piled with garbage you come in clean the floors and take JUST WHATS IN THE garbage can ONLY and dirty dishes and not when she's sleeping. If she wants to keep certain items on HER TABLE let the family deal with it. We can't trust them to do the laundry because she gets other people stuffs or things go missing. She had 2 sets BRAND NEW SHEETS when she came. They replaced one with someone else's old sheets.

I have personally spent time in this community as a healthcare professional, and I've also received unsolicited feedback from family members in the outside community who, unsolicited, have raved about the care their loved ones received at Willowbrook Place.

Willowbrook Place has a group of compassionate caregivers who have the innate ability to meet the residents where they are with their specific needs. These caregivers are able to assist the more challenging residents in a positive, caring manner. However, the following are some serious concerns that I have observed regarding the care of my loved one and other residents: - LACK OF RESPECT AND COMPASSION due to inadequate training. This is evident when some of the caregivers speak to the residents in harsh tones and raised voices often using poor choice of words for people with dementia. For example, "you're NOT supposed to be in there" as opposed to redirecting the resident, "let me help you find your way"; arguing with a resident ("I want to go to the 2nd floor" "there is no 2nd floor...NO, NO there's no 2nd floor"); humiliating a resident (“You wet your pants, now we have to change you”- in a scolding manner); pushing a resident in a wheelchair with their feet dragging underneath the chair and yelling, "Lift your feet" instead of telling the resident that they are being moved and perhaps pulling the wheelchair backwards so the resident's feet are not bent underneath the wheelchair. - LACK OF SUPERVISION AND ACCOUNTABILITY of the caregivers and other staff. This is evident in the continuing inappropriate interactions with residents, and residents’ family members. - LACK OF COMMUNICATION between executive director, other administrative personnel, and residents' family members. This occurs especially when staff changes are made such as not informing families when the nursing position was vacated and was not immediately filled, and when caregivers are no longer employed with the company leaving shifts short staffed. - LACK OF ENSURING RESIDENTS RIGHTS are respected and adhered to as stated in Willowbrook Place’s Residents Rights Policy. For example, forcing a resident to bed or into his/her room to convenience the staff. I have addressed these concerns and others with different levels of management including the facility’s executive director and a Principal in Anthem’s corporate home office. I do not feel my concerns have been taken seriously or given any reasonable consideration since there has been little or no change(s) in the negative behaviors and interactions exhibited by some of the staff.

My mother-in-law has been at Willowbrook for 1 1/2 years and we have nothing but good things to say about the facility and the staff! I am at Willowbrook Place a number of times a week, spending at least 10 hours a week with my MIL and other residents and volunteering with various activities, such as flower arranging and cooking demos. The facility is divided into two sides. I have spent time in both sides and have never seen the public or private restrooms dirty, they are always kept in great order. The staff take residents to the restroom on a regular basis and I have never seen a resident in anything but clean clothes. The staff are very attentive to all the residents needs and wants. I have never seen the staff treat the residents with anything but kindness and dignity. The floors and tables are cleaned after every meal and messy activities. The caregivers priorities are always the residents, so if a table or floor has to wait a minute to get cleaned that is why. Besides the staff what really makes Willowbrook special,is the residents family members who spend time with not just their relatives, but with everyone there, giving it a very family like atmosphere. Williowbrook also has a great activities program that urges the residents to spend as much time as possible out of their rooms, which seems to help those profoundly affected by dementia come out of their shells as much as possible. The activities staff keep the residents engaged with music, arts, and demonstrations varying from preschoolers coming in to a craggy old sailor coming in to show slides of his ocean voyages on a sail boat. They also have a lot musical entertainment, which the residents love! Overall, we could home for mom!
