I had the pleasure of visiting this community on Saturday during their Mother's Day celebration. Staff was very welcoming and attentive to the residents and families. The food was delicious and the entertainment was excellent. I was surprised at the fact that in the center of the community was a walking path with live plants and a tree growing up from the ground under a skylight that filled the room with natural light. The outdoor space looked like a backyard and had a nice patio area. I also learned they allow pets and had a resident with a cat and another with a dog. The residents I engaged with were happy and the family I sat with spoke highly of the staff. The Executive Director, Patty introduced herself and we had a nice conversation. Such a beautiful and welcoming community.

Such a great community where the residents are well taken care of and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Mary keeps the residents busy and engaged with daily activities and Stacii is always so welcoming and friendly when you come to visit.

We are so happy that we found Brookdale North Glendale. The facility is very clean and beautifully decorated. The management went above and beyond to help us through our stressful transition. The caregivers are amazing they treat your loved ones like they are their own family. There is a lot of interaction and activities to keep the residents active and happy. Brookdale North Glendale was the perfect choise for us.

I was referred to Brookdale North Glendale by A Place for Mom, as I was hoping to transfer a relative from his current facility to one that has only memory care residents. I toured 6 facilities; ones that had memory care as well as assisted living, and ones that were memory care only. The minute I walked into the peaceful, joyful atrium at Brookdale North, I knew it was a very special place, and that I didn't need to look at any more choices. Brookdale NG is small - around 38 residents live there. This means that the staff who work there (several having worked there for many, many years!) get to know each resident and truly work to meet their individual needs. The central rooms, to which each wing joins, are brightly colored and spacious. As I said, there is a beautiful atrium with a tree and plants and birds (in cages :). This space is far from the "industrial" feeling I got from other facilities. It is homey and inviting. The residents' rooms are small, but well laid out. This is an older facility and the inviting nature of the rooms in general is reflected in the older approach to house building...in my mind the newer facilities often feel sterile. But the most impressive part of Brookdale NG is truly the staff. Sylvia Leatherberry, the Sales Manager, went out of her way to meet with me 4 times (once even on her day off) to be sure that her facility would best meet my relative's needs. She was informative, frank, helpful and gracious. After much deliberation, my relative decided to remain where he is living, and Sylvia's response (this after we had filled out all the paperwork!) was that she wanted what was best for my relative, and she truly meant it. You don't meet people like this in sales very often. Each staff member I met there gave me this same confidence that my relative would be well nourished physically and emotionally at Brookdale. If you are looking for a residence for a family member who needs memory care, I highly recommend you spend some time at Brookdale NG. I believe it is the kind of place you and your loved one would feel at home.

I was so impressed when I walked in to the community today and was greeted so kindly by the team! It was clean, smelled clean (this is key) and the residents were engaged and happy! Knowing that there are caregivers and activities managers that have been there for 17 & 20 years speaks volumes! Take care of your staff and they take care of your residents. Never fails! I know everyone says it, but I truly don’t leave reviews. I would be amiss if I did not do so! You might be seeing my comments as you search for a community to place a loved one. My company is a provider of Home Healthcare and Hospice services, and we provide our services all over the valley. A loved one’s family chose us as a provider (Summit Home Health and Hospice) and this community (Brookdale of North Glendale) to place their mother. At first I was skeptical as this community is part of a large chain and large chains tend seem impersonal. Making a choice to place in an assisted living community and where to place a loved one is a very difficult decision. I have to say that the family could not have done better and my assumptions were wrong! The care at Brookdale North Glendale was exceptional - exceptional. The care staff were amazing! The family member was always cared for and loved. the community was always clean and tidy. This tells me there is engagement from all of the team including the onsite management. An additional important factor is that many of the staff / caregivers have longevity at this community - 3, 4, 5 plus years. As our team provided the skilled services (Home Health and Hospice, the Brookdale team went above and beyond in working with us. The care was truly coordinated. We are grateful that we had the opportunity to work with everyone in this community and hope we get the chance in the future. Thank you

My mom was a resident of Brookdale North Glendale for over 3 years. From her first day to her last day, the care she received was exemplary. Many of the staff that cared for my mom were with her the entire 3 plus years. In her first couple years, my mom was very active in the day-to-day activities Brookdale offered. The director of fun, (or cruise director as I refer to her) Mary Rogers made the experience for the residents wonderful. Playing bingo, making crafts, leading trivia games, playing Family Feud, and many more activities. During my visits I enjoyed participating in the games. On one occasion when I visited my mom, she was worried that her luggage was not delivered from the cruise ship to her room and asked me to check on it. I talked to Mary to try and figure out what she was talking about. It turns out earlier that day, Mary had organized a virtual cruise. It is very impressive that my mom really thought she had taken a cruise. It’s a testament to how much fun the residents have daily. The care provided by the medical staff is second to none. I worked with the medical staff on a quarterly basis to create a care plan for my mom. Early on the goal was to provide as much physical and mental stimulation as possible. The cruise director was key to the success of the plan. Mary led daily physical exercises for all the residents and mental stimulation with the daily activities she planned. I really believe these activities extended my mom’s life and made her last few years more enjoyable. During the last few months of her life, she required more medical attention. The director of medical care was Erika Heywood-Elder. Erika helped me navigate through the difficult decisions when my mom was ill. Providing her thoughts and opinions as to how to best care for my mom. She was instrumental in helping my family make the right decisions for my mom. There are no words to express my thanks to the day-to-day care staff. These are the individuals that interacted with my mom the most. I generally visited my mom a couple times a week and witnessed the compassion and love in which they cared for my mom. Their care and compassion is more than just a job for them, it’s a work of HEART. On a regular basis when I was visiting, a caretaker would come up to her and talk to her and just give her a kiss on the head or hug her and tell her they loved her. It was so amazing to know that she was getting love and affection daily. It takes a very special person to care for residents that require the level of care that my mom required. I am very thankful for all the caretakers. A special shout out goes to those that cared for my mom over the years. Maria, Mark, Amy, Mae, Lily, Norma, Helen, Rebecca, Flor, Nelia, Janette, Abigail, Rey, and Laila. Overall, I cannot thank the staff at Brookdale North Glendale enough for the care they provided my mom over the last 3+ years. It was a very difficult decision to move my mom from my home to a care facility. I looked at several different homes. Many of the facilities have similar amenities and talk to the quality of care they provide. I am so grateful that I chose Brookdale North Glendale because the people providing the care, make the difference. The staff at Brookdale North Glendale are the most awesome, caring and loving people I have encountered in my life. I am forever grateful for the care they provided my mom.

When Gayle (ExecutiveDirector) and Eileen (Sales Manager) say it is a family at Brookdale- Glendale, it is obvious they say it from their heart. And the Activities Director...oh my goodness, she made me want to join in on the fun!

I attended the health fair Friday, October 23rd 2020. It was a beautiful day, for a worthwhile event! Masks and social distancing inplace. The signage and balloons for the event caught my eye, however I still struggle to find this location. If I had not visited the community prior to the event, I would not notice this building as it blends into the neighborhood. I would love to see more permanent signage to direct seniors to this wonderful location.

Briana is the best! She is great with all the residents there. She has been known to dance with them to help keep a smile on their face. During these times when family cant be with them it is crucial for the caregivers/med-techs to be willing to show them they are not alone. Briana is always smiling and can be found sitting outside with one of the residents letting them get fresh air and chatting. She is respectful and sweet to every single person that is a resident here. She truly cares for and respects all that are living here and depend on them for care during these confusing and heart breaking times! BRIANA YOU ROCK!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

COVID has made life difficult for any family with a loved one in this type of community. The staff at North Glendale were so kind and loving to our beloved aunt while she was in residence. Everyone here went above and beyond to help her transition.

I am the granddaughter to a current resident at Brookdale north Glendale the care that is provided by the care staff all the way to the management team is truly exceptional.. I wanna give a special thanks to Tarah who is the business office manager for not just taking care of my grandpas account but also this girl works the floor in the clinical non stop has no problem stepping up her game to help in every which way she can. Plus she goes above and beyond for my family and always has a smile on her face. I couldn’t imagine coming in and not seeing her she makes my day bright!!! I appreciate her and the staff at north Glendale so many positive changes. Tarah you have a true gift and I appreciate you 100%!!!

My Mother-in-Law has been at Brookdale North Glendale for about a year and a half now. The North Glendale location has the joy of having Tarah Miller as their Business Office Coordinator. But Tarah is much more than that. Tarah is always up beat, happy, and interacts so great with the residents. Her experience in caregiving allows her to step in and help with the more hands on side of care for the residents. The staff is truly what makes this home for my Mother-in-Law a great place for her to be.

My dad recently moved to Brookdale of North Glendale. The staff have been wonderful in making his transition seamless. Consequently he is adjusting well and is very happy in his new surroundings. The staff have quickly got to know his personality and health issues and have adopted to them quickly and effectively. We are very satisfied in our choice of this residence.
