I have been looking for family members who are wanting to be together in memory care. The staff was wonderful and welcoming. I got to meet a couple residents too. Matt gave me the tour and answered all of my questions (usually before I got a chance to ask!) or concerns including visiting time, staffing and care questions. Of the assisted living-type memory care units, this has rocketed to the top of my list. Prices are clear and reasonable, being towards the lower end of memory care facilities I have toured so far. I am impressed with their approach to care with understanding of how dementia needs can be multifaceted. My family also loved the cookies chef made especially for them.

This is one of many places we have experienced in central Illinois for my dad. It has far exceeded any other experience. The people really seem to know him and help him with daily life. He looks more like himself again and seems genuinely happy. Because of the help with daily activities and healthy habits we can focus more on spending time with him when we visit. My husband has been at Grandview for 20 months now. The facility provides a setting that feels homelike with a culture of caring and family like relationships with residents and staff. The facility is clean, the food varied, the schedule predictable with daily activities, meals, snacks snd quiet time with lots of. Big windows and natural light. It feels more firm-like than nursing home. . The caregiving staff truly cares for residents making them comfortable emotionally and physically. Communication about care is consistent and helpful. Our family feels supported in this decision for our loved one.

When looking for a place for my wife, Kaitlin took me on a tour of Grand View. I was very impressed with the friendly atmosphere, the cleanliness of the facility and the caring attitude of the staff. Together with Julie, Michelle and Kaitlin, they keep the front desk running smoothly. The nurses, from Lynette, Colin, Michelle, Diane, to Shana, are always very helpful, friendly and professional. Virgil does an excellent job of making sure his staff keeps the facility clean, repaired when needed and the clothing of the residents clean and presentable. I eat lunch and dinner in the dining room with my wife. Craig makes sure the food is tasty and nutritious. Snacks are also available between meals. The activities at Grand View from bingo, music, games, parties and outside entertainment coming in, helps to keep the residents engaged. Also, with no official visiting hours, visitors are able to stay for a longer visit if needed. I would highly recommend Grand View for your love one’s needs. My sister and I knew earlier in the year that Mom needed better care than we were able to give her and finally decided to investigate assisted living options where memory care was a requirement. We were both surprised, and relieved, to find that within hours of the search many of our concerns were put to rest and our anxiety about the decision had faded. Thanks to Kaitlin and the tour she provided for us, we now knew a better life for Mom was in her future. In less than a week from this first introduction, we were moving Mom into Grand View, and the quality of her life has been better ever since. Mom now has the medical support she needs, the meals she needs, the prescription management she needs, and perhaps most importantly the social interaction she so desperately wanted. The Grand View team’s communication with my sister and I have been excellent. As we have learned, a significant percentage of the Grand View team has remained intact for many years, and it shows. From Michelle S in the business office to Virgil in maintenance every request we have of them is responded to right away. I would like to especially call out Lynette, Colin, Michelle D, and the rest of the nursing team. There is no doubt that they really care for our mother. Besides providing medical care, they go out of their way to ensure Mom is dressed well each day and feeling good about herself. This team brings their A-game every day. If you are looking for assisted living with a focus on memory care for your loved one, you need to make sure a visit to Grand View is at the top of your list. The 24/7 nursing staff, outstanding food prepared by Chef Craig, the tenured team and personal touch they provide has provided for a wonderful experience for Mom and my sister and me. Grandview looked to be the perfect place. Staff was engaged with residents. So obvious during our initial visit and we saw it again on the second visit. Our intention was to move from another facility. However, my wife passed away in the interim. We so appreciate the attitude of the staff. Their intent was to make sure my wife could age in place at Grandview. The staff appeared to be passionate about their residents and well trained.

Grand View was the perfect place for mom when her dementia progressed too much for her safety and comfort at home. The staff was kind, capable, responsive, and so much more. I visited practically every day for 5 1/2 months (until COVID shut visits down) at various times of the day and always witnessed compassionate care for mom and the other residents. Even during COVID restrictions, they made every effort to keep us connected with Zoom calls, window visits, and outdoot visits in warm weather. Mom loved the activities and many parties and enjoyed the staff. She resided at Grand View for 16 months until she passed in Feb. 2021. We especially appreciated the great kindnesses shown to mom AND us during her last 8 days in hospice care. I highly recommend families consider Grand View if their loved one requires memory care.

Making the decision for placement is a very difficult one to begin with. For families it can be devastating because it was the one thing you promised would never happen. I am a regular random visitor of this faclity. It's a great atmosphere and the staff are always very professional and friendly. I have a family member that works there, and during my frequent visists I am always greeted with respect and offered to assist with activities and such. The Office manager in the front is the single most amazing person, and she seems to love what she does. What a charm she is!! The manager of the facility, Julie, is a very professional and caring person, and seems to have lots of love for each indiviual staff and resident. On occassion I get a chance to speak with her in passing and she always greets me and initiate small chatter with a taste of humor. Julie is "Wonder Woman" in disguise!!!!! If I was in search for employment I would greatly consider Grandview Alzheimer's Special Care Center where the staff are super, the atmosphere is amazingly welcoming, and the residents are truly loved and cared for. Awesome place and people!!!!!!!

We were kept informed, and everyone showed care in the most loving sense of the word.
