We found just the right place for my Mom for this difficult time of life. She was in between assisted living and a nursing home and in need of memory care. Artis Briarcliff Manor fits the needs perfectly It is small enough to be very personalized, immaculately clean and well organized. Diana the Director is responsive, available and attentive. She is truly a very competent and caring person and does a great job heading up Artis The care staff and nursing staff are all so patient, kind and caring. They aren’t going through the motions and truly care about the residents Denise, a highly experienced aide, can get my Mom to do anything with her humor and positive methods. Alle is care partner on my Moms unit and makes sure that everything runs smoothly and always with a smile. She works A LOT. All of the staff have been compassionate, warm and accommodating since we joined. Top down. Prime example of what good leadership in action looks like. My dad is well cared for and so am I!!! The food is good. The place is clean and bright. Laundry smells like Tide! The activities are engaging and varied for all interests. The other families are also warm and friendly, too. It is a sad time to let go of a parent and put them in a home but to be honest, there isn’t a better place. I could never do this good of a job. Dad is exactly where he needs to be to thrive at this stage of life.

It was the hardest decision to move my mom but we definitely made the right decision about Artis of Briarcliff. Everyone has been so supportive and they’re taking great care of my mother. Making the decision to move a loved one to memory care is not easy. But that's just the beginning of the challenge. Navigating the actual move and the transition can be so difficult for a parent. Artis Senior Living of Briarcliff Manor has exceeded expectations in how they are helping my mother adjust. It is highly personalized to her needs and likes/dislikes. There is no cookie-cutter generic approach. It makes all the difference. (And the patience dealing with me during this first week has been phenomenal.) The facility itself is lovely. There are multiple areas indoors and out for residents to enjoy...that is, when they aren't participating in one of many group activities throughout the day. 😉 I am so grateful to Artis-Briarcliff for making this hard decision and hard process as smooth as possible for my mother, and helping her adjust at her pace. And I am so pleased that her days will be full of possibilities to engage with others in a warm place, surrounded by talented and kind staff. August 2023 Update: My mother has been a resident for 2 years. I still feel very grateful that we found such a caring and supportive environment for her. The staff is very attuned to her personal likes and dislikes; the focus is on respecting who she is, and not forcing her into a routine that she doesn't want. The result is that my mother constantly tells me how nice everyone is. That is everything.

Making a decision like this was probably one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make but it turned out to be the right one for my father. The staff at Artis succeeded in making him feel special and tried to give him the special things he enjoyed at home. His favorite breakfast of Wheaties and his New York Times were little things that helped with his adjustment. The beautiful outdoor patio is a lovely place for the family to spend time together and visiting is always encouraged. I know now my father is safe and cared for by some very special people!

After 6 months in rehab for a broken femur, we were searching for a new memory care facility for our mother. The onboarding team was absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond to help resolve every single rehab issue and get our mother discharged with all the paperwork and equipment she needed. Our mom has been a resident for 2 months now and is doing extremely well. The staff across the board is kind, compassionate and patient. They really get to know each resident as an individual and they cater to not only their needs but to their likes and dislikes as well - from what time they like to wake up, to what they like to eat and drink, to what they like to watch on tv and what activities they want to participate in. They are constantly engaged with the residents and they talk to them about family, friends, careers, things they have done and places they have traveled. They are constantly updating us on how our mother is doing. They are true partners in caring for our mom. Being a dedicated memory care facility, the building is designed to allow residents to freely move about the two floors and outside, while allowing the staff to keep an eye on everyone. It is a much more open, nurturing and independent environment that most memory care units (including our mother's previous facility). I cannot say enough good things about Artis. Other facilities do the big things right. What sets Artis apart is they do the little things right as well.

After spending time with my grandmother at this beautiful facility I have nothing but good things to say. I did not tell them I am a Registered Nurse and familiar with all the things that are scrutinized by the state inspectors. The care that is given is individualized; the staff from the most senior administrators to those serving lunch is outstanding. The cleanliness is second to none. The activities are well thought out and keep the residents active, healthy and happy. I have never once arrived to find my gMa in bed or not cleaned up and dressed. ALL staff are altruistic and so kind. I recommend Artis Senior Living and their beautiful memory care unit without reservation. My heartfelt thanks to the dedicated nursing staff and ancillary staff that provide hands on and direct care to these patients as I know what it takes.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my mom’s transition to memory care. From the minute you enter the Artis in Briarcliff Manor, you feel welcomed. The staff is not only professional, but pleasant in every way. My mom is always involved in an activity and I’ve never seen her happier. I have constant communication with the staff and it’s a “just right size” facility that the staff knows the resident’s needs well. I have so much gratitude for all the staff at Artis. And I can even bring our dog, who has seemed to get to know the residents of Artis well.

When I read about the, "Artis Way" on their website, I cynically thought it was just a marketing strategy. But it is absolutely genuine and true! Unfortunately our mother's Alzheimer's has led us through a few living situations (assisted living then memory care) and there really is no other place like Artis. The staff treat the residents with such kindness and respect that it brings tears to my eyes when I visit. They still see the residents as the vibrant individuals they once were, and not what their disease has done to them. Not only do I know that my mother is safe and cared for, but she is also being respected and enriched by the community. Artis also does a wonderful job community with us which is so important. I can't say enough positive things about the wonderful job they do.

My siblings and I moved our mother to Artis at the end of last year. We were in a crisis situation as our mothers advanced dementia behaviors seemed to be out of control and her current memory care unit could not manage her care. From the moment the Artis staff began their evaluation process we were met with compassion and care and our mother was treated with dignity and respect. The move in day was smooth and her transition to life at Artis is going very well and her behavior has improved. Artis is a unique and special place. The staff truly cares about the residents, the building is designed in a way that is safe but creates a sense of independance and choice. This is an incredibly challenging and sad time but Artis and the people who work there are a real blessing.

A lovely, caring community. We dreaded moving our mother into a facility, but when our father entered hospice care this spring, we knew we had to find the right place for her. In the difficult time around our father’s death, the staff at Artis was welcoming, comforting and reassuring about everything we were going through. I was so moved when I first toured the community because they had decorated the entry of a model room with a collage tribute to our mother’s interests from information they had gathered online; it was such a thoughtful thing to do and made me feel that our mother would be seen as an individual. This was confirmed when we moved our mother in and she was welcomed with warmth and respect. Our parent’ apartment had been their launching pad to explore the world and enjoy their many interests. As our mother’s dementia worsened, however, their world became limited to that small place, with very little interaction outside the family. Artis has given our mother the freedom to stroll around the lovely communal areas and grounds at will and to socialize with the caring staff and other residents. There are many varied activities, and residents can do as much or as little as they choose; unlike at a general assisted living facility, everything is open to everyone. I am lucky to live near enough to Artis that I can visit whenever I wish. Every time I come, I marvel at how well cared-for all the residents appear and with what kindness and respect the are treated by each and every staff member. No matter when I arrive, the whole community and our mother’s room are spotless. Our mother has settled right in to her new home and it is a profound relief to me and my siblings knowing that she is being cared for and protected. I can’t recommend Artis enough.

The journey you take with a loved one who has a brain disorder -- that leads to the path of dementia -- is fraught with confusion, fear, disappointment and sadness. So I have been so keenly aware whenever genuine help and support is finally offered. Rare indeed! Artis in Briarcliff did just that, both with its initial and realistic evaluation of my wife’s challenging condition. And then -- when she was stabilized “ with a careful and concerned re-evaluation by a team of three people. All to make sure that their Memory Care facility could “ potentially “ be a good fit for all. It felt, quite simply, so supportive and professional. And now, to see the daily concern and gentleness of the staff and the air of lightness and life in the place, it continues to stand out from the many facilities I visited. For that, I can only be grateful. Because despite the tremendous burden of this difficult path with a loved one, it represents hope.

We were no longer able to care for my mother at home and we had to make the difficult decision of moving her to an assisted living residence. We visited Artis because they are entirely devoted to memory care so their philosophy and approach are based on those premises. We CHOSE Artis because of the people who work there. The entire staff is so warm and reassuring and they go to great lengths to make certain the resident is comfortable and happy. Prior to moving in, they helped prepare us, the family, and they were especially attentive to my father knowing it would be hardest on him. Every time I have gone to visit alone, the first thing I am asked is how is your dad doing? It is about family and they mean it. They took great care in learning about mom, her history, her likes and dislikes and their attention to detail is remarkable. It has been a month and mom is smiling again. Her condition will not improve, but her days are filled with activities surrounded by a genuinely caring group of people. I am able to reach someone 24/7 should I need reassurance and I know she is receiving the best possible care. The Artis way is the only way as far as we are concerned.

Artis Senior Living of Briarcliff Manor has been extremely helpful in helping my father adapt to his new surroundings.They take the time to learn about your loved one, so they can have the best experience while there. The staff has been so patient with us as we had so many questions while learning the procedures of living in this type of facility. We toured a few places before choosing Artis as the best fit for my dad. We like the atmosphere of the neighborhoods in this facility. It’s cozy and not overwhelming. The chef goes out of his way to understand what a resident likes and ensures they get enough to eat. Artis was kind enough to remind my Dad of my Birthday and for the first time in years he remembered to call me on that day. Thank you Artis for making this transition as smooth as possible for us and having such caring staff to watch over him.
