Very clean, friendly and loving staff who really care about the residents, delicious food. We found while searching that when memory care units are tacked onto larger assisted living facilities, the memory care units are tiny and cramped, with small courtyards. Since North Woods Village is all memory care, the courtyard is big, and she can walk all around and not be restricted to a tiny space. This was really important for us.

North Woods Village of Kalamazoo is a great place for memory care. It is a beautiful facility with well equipped spacious rooms and they have top notch staff from the administration, nursing, food, maintenance and even volunteers. They work with residents individually as well as offering activities in groups, for example morning movement, bingo, balloon volleyball, or social hour and live music and sing-alongs. The staff that interact and work with residents are caring, calm and friendly as well as helpful to visitors. They offer wonderful food to meet the needs of residents and they have a super chef with a super staff. It’s always clean and looks bright and inviting. Everyone is helpful and caring here. When people say it takes a village, North Woods Village is the place to be. I am glad I found them.

If you have a loved one who needs memory care please, please, please check out this facility!! My mom was there for a little bit and they from top to bottom were awesome! One of the staff’s 5 year old grandson would stop in and he always gave my mom a hug. All the staff would say hello every time I would visit. Everyone was so helpful and compassionate when our mom passed too. The facility always was bright, cheery, clean and welcoming. Please at least give them a visit if you need care for someone you love, they would be loved like family at North Woods Village!!

My sister lived here. It was the very best choice for us. Every single department contributed to her excellent care and services. The kindness of the staff was immeasurable. The quick move in process was handled exceptionally well by the Executive Director who coordinated everything with us and the hospital. When we arrived, everything was waiting for us and just perfect for my sister. The attention she got, the warmth and caring shown to her and our family will never be forgotten.

What a great place for our mom! One of the reasons I chose this facility was it has a little chapel which they hold services of all religious denominations. After being there a few weeks, our whole family made comments on how happy she is there. If your looking for a facility please put North Woods Village on your list! Its worth the time!

I don't think you can put a price on quality of life, and that is what the staff at Northwoods gave my mom during the last year. When she first got there my mom was afraid to use her walker, you can't imagine my joy when I got to finally got to visit and saw her ambling around using this safety device. The facility was always clean and the residents were well cared for. Although my mom couldn't communicate with words very easily, she found a voice here. Meeting her needs was always the top priority of everyone there.

My 92 yo mother came to NWV in May 2020 after suffering a hip fracture. I am her family representative (PoA) and could not be happier for her to be here. The entire staff is friendly, accommodating and kind. The ratio of nurses and CNA’s is very good, as is mother’s personal care/hygiene. They notice when she is beginning to have an health issue and take appropriate steps before it is a big problem. The staff has been vigilant and proactive to prevent residents form being infected with COVID, thus far. She LOVES the food and activities. The whole team has been good to assist with FaceTime or Zoom calls when family cannot be present, as well as with scheduling visits once that has again become possible. I would not hesitate to recommend NWV to someone looking for memory care for a family member!

Beautiful place! Professionalism of the staff is unparalleled. I think this is the only place in the area with an all licensed nursing staff and with a chapel. Safe place for loved ones who wander and those who need social interaction and companionship.
