Arden Courts of Farmington is a wonderful facility. All employees from reception, nurses, programming, maintenance, to administration treat residents with tremendous patience, respect, and tenderness. Moving my mother into memory care was a very difficult decision for our family, and they handled the transition with grace and empathy. My mom is the most aware and active she has been in a long time. The activities, programming, and socialization have not only increased her level of engagement, but provided a greater sense of purpose and belonging for her. We are so happy she is getting the care and lifestyle she deserves. They don't go above beyond - it is simply their normal to provide such a high standard. The thoughtfulness, professionalism, and dedication is unlike anything we expected and are so grateful she is in such incredible hands. Thank you, Arden Courts, for creating more peace and safety for her, but an even bigger thank you for treating her like family. Your support means the world!

Just came back from visiting both of my parents at Arden Courts. They both looked awesome! Their hair was freshly cut and styled. My father was clean shaven and they were both well dressed. My mom is able to play the piano there and the staff and residents clap for her and compliment her daily. Mom participates in daily activities such as singing, dancing, art work, exercise classes etc. and enjoys every minute. They are both well fed, included, understood, and loved!

I had the pleasure of working with Arden Court as an outside agency to provide additional assistance to one of the residents. I've worked with many different communities, I felt welcomed immediately when I walked in and was greeted so warmly. A representative actually walked me to the residents room and gave me important information, rather than just signing a visitors log and leaving me to figure out where I was going. This community is very clean and organized. Later I met a CNA named Julie who stopped her daily routine to give our care professional vital information and suggestions to help her succeed. Her helpful nature and warm personality was so very appreciated. She left me with a smile. Everyone in the building seem so happy and helpful. I enjoy my visits. Pansy Home Care

Our dad arrived at Arden Courts in July. I was extremely nervous with this next step in his care. The front desk immediately saw my fear and came to me and assured me that dad was in great hands. Wow, were they right. He is in Boathouse, a wing of Arden , and the CNA's are unbelievably caring, loving and kind. Many have been there for many years which says a lot in itself. Julie, Melanie and Marcy are our Godsends. They're our angels. I cannot say enough about the care my dad is receiving. Jorge the director, runs a tight ship and it shows. He's always reaching out with any concerns or issues we need to be aware of. The nursing staff has been incredible to work with. They too treat everyone with care and integrity. I would 100 percent refer anyone needing top notch memory care to Arden Courts

Five months ago reading these reviews made my skin tingle - in a great way - hearing how families praised the loving and caring way their mom or dads were being cared for. Now it's my turn! Touring six properties for mom's move and making the decision was easy once we walked into Arden Courts of Farmington. Everyone on staff can be found helping the residents… from the cook to the activities manager, from the front office staff to staff who happen to walk by and find a need to fill … everyone at Arden Courts cares for our loved ones. Specifically, Cheyanne, Marcia, and Melandie are very kind, sweet, caring and give mom professional care all day long. Arden Courts staff made a tough time so much easier on move in and I thank you all for that. Every question we have is addressed with focus and kindness. Thank you Arden Courts staff! The gardens in the back of the property made the facility feel even more inviting and "like home."

I put my mom in Arden Courts of Farmington in April 2023, after caring for her 5 years at home. By the time I moved my mom to Arden Courts her dementia was very advanced--she required help with all personal care (toileting, bathing, dressing). I toured three memory care facilities in Farmington, and Arden Courts stood out as a place clearly designed just for people with dementia. The other facilities were very nice, but felt more like hotels or resorts. They were excessively spacious, especially for people with dementia. In contrast, Arden Courts felt more like a home than a resort. The rooms are small, but appropriately so. At home, without help, my mom would get lost going from her bed to the toilet just 8 ft away. A larger facility, with wide hallways and enormous bedrooms and group spaces would have been completely bewildering for my mom. In addition to getting her more constant and expert attention, I felt putting my mom in memory care would expand her social interactions and give her significantly more space to walk around than she had at home. There are places to walk around inside, and also a large secure yard with furnished patios, sidewalks and many doors to get back inside--residents are free to go in and out during the day. And in fact, at Arden Courts, my mom's basic mobility improved very quickly--not just walking (with a rollator), but also getting into and out of chairs and bed. In addition to being more active, my mom had many more people to see and interact with. Her interpersonal skills had almost disappeared, but I have no doubt the exposure to more people was good for her. The facility is divided into four wings, or "houses," with about a dozen residents per house. Each house has 2 or more caregivers working during waking hours. Caregivers are assigned to a house--so they quickly get to know their residents' quirks and patterns. One time I stopped by but couldn't find my mom. After I walked all over looking for her, Jorge, the Executive Director, picked up a walkie and said "Anyone have eyes on Sally?" They found her immediately--she had wandered into a bedroom in another house--so I was pleasantly surprised that staff in the other houses knew her, even though they didn't take care of her on a daily basis. There are daily activities: a nondenominational service on Sunday (a video) with music and hymns, live performances from visiting musicians, discussions, games, singing, and in the summer, a cook-out on the patio every Friday for lunch. I attended many these of activities with my mom and even stopped in and ate a few meals with her (e.g., on Mother's Day). My mom's dementia was very advanced when she moved to Arden Courts and she passed away 3 and a half months later. During those three months, I never saw a staff member roll their eyes, sigh in frustration, raise their voice, or show any resistance to helping a resident or helping me. It was clear they truly care for the residents, emotionally as well as physically. I am so grateful to Arden Courts. My mom's dementia had turned her into a completely different person and between that and her physical decline, it was progressively harder for me to care for her. But for those three months, I was able to be just her daughter again, instead of her caregiver. The opportunity to rekindle my relationship with my mother has given me fond and pleasant memories of her at the end of her life, not ones filled with the stress and anxiety of the years before that. The staff deserve so much credit--I especially thank her Garden House caregivers, Kim, Emma, Debran, Jody, Anna, Simba, and Agnes…really everyone I met was wonderful. But I should also mention the kindness of other staff--Jerry and Melanie in Nursing, Samantha, the Program Coordinator, Brenda and Lisa in the kitchen, and the administrative staff, Jorge, Samantha, Doreen, Gail, Minnie, and Hollis.

It was a difficult decision to move my sister out of her beloved home in Fairfield almost 2 yrs ago but myself and her two sons are so pleased she is happy at Arden Ct. She gets so much love, attention and care from the staff there especially Dzevida. She participates in all the activities and loves the food!!! It gives us such piece of mind knowing she is safe there and we'll cared for. We're glad we chose Arden for it's small intimate atmosphere.

My brother and I put our soon to be 91 year old mother into Arden Courts a few weeks ago. So far so good, but it will take time for an adjustment for your loved one. The rooms are small, but cozy. The staff has been amazing and up front right from the start of the process of getting her in. And each wing has generally the same staff caring for the folks staying there to get to know them better. One floor, very safe and lucky we have her there.

So far, after 4 months at Arden courts, it has been a positive experience for both mom and dad. It was very difficult to find a place in a few weeks ,because the other facility put them on a 30 day trial that didn't work out. Arden courts rose to the occasion since day 1 , with all of mom and dads transitioning needs. Since day 1 Cheryl the head nurse was such a wealth of knowledge, comforting , and always positive. We had our private aides for both mom and dad, but after a few months we didn't need them anymore. We are comfortable and confident that Arden courts aides are very competent! It says a lot when a hand full of aides have been there for over 20 yrs. They must be doing something right. Id like to also thank, Kim, Emma, Julie, Melandie,Marcia, Shiane and Minnie for ALL their love and support for mom and dad ! It goes a long way ! I can finally sleep at night knowing mom and dad are safe and cared for. Living out of state makes it challenging for me because id like to see them more frequently. When i stop in, there are always aides, nurses, and Jorge around. Mom is thriving with all the activities. Dad is sleeping more in his advanced stage dementia, but not forgotten about.

This facility has been great for my Dad. The staff has been exceptional. Dzevida in Country has great knowledge of dementia and knows how to handle it. Julie is also a great match for my Dad. I would recommend this place. Paula
June 2023
Arden court has been tremendous for my family. The level of care and communication has been second to none. The entire staff is extremely helpful and actually care for the patients. Chasing Arden Court has been the best decision my family has made in the care for my mother and would recommend them to anyone looking for top notch memory care.
April 2023
My mother has been at Arden Courts of Farmington since June of 2022. It has been a difficult year taking control of things my mother could no longer handle. She had presence of mind years ago to set me up as her durable power of attorney. As another child wrote in a review, the situation just sucks. The staff at Arden Courts of Farmington are patient and supportive of both my mother and I. Cheryl, Hollis H, Marcia, Melandie, Anna, Julie, Jerry, Noah, Lisa, Donna & Donna, Russel Jorge, Gwen, Bridgette...I wish I could fully remember and write something nice about everyone. They are there for me when I am not at my best and I know they are there for my mom 24x7. The grounds are beautiful and our ability to wander many hallways and find "indoor porches" for our own more private visits are great. My mother is not always easy! This organization and staff sustain a high level of caring and concern. Thank you all!

Making the decision to place my 57 year old husband was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. Having visited many, once I came to Arden Court , something clicked. I struggled a bit with the size of the rooms, and the Director Jorge took time to explain why the rooms were small, it made perfect sense. The more that you fill the room with the more chaos and confusion can occur, the more time they will spend in the room, we want them out , coming to activities, socializing, making friends, walking the grounds. All of which in the few weeks my husband has been here has started to happen. By the way, the grounds are like nothing else around and give them a feeling of independence. The transition period was hard for my husband and myself and the staff has been nothing but exceptional for both of us. I get texts during the day letting me know how he is doing , When I have tears in my eyes, the staff will give me a hug and tell me it will be okay. They always know exactly where to find him. These wonderful humans here know the patients, what they need and get to know who they are as individuals. My husband has made friends with nurse Jerry, who has a tender heart and listening ears. His caretakers, Minnie, Anna, Julie, Cinba he says are exceptional. The programming director Samantha caught on that my husband is a person that likes hands on activities and ordered him a bird house to work on. Nurse Cathy has kept me focused and informed. I am more then pleased with my decision with Arden Court. A shout out to Hollis and Valerie for answering my many questions, listening to me through my tears, And Jorge you steer the ship beautifully. Keep up this amazing work for a population of people that need this TLC. My kind and grateful regards, Kathy

The hardest decision you may have to make is to move a parent to live away from home but Moms dementia had progressed over the past months and she just wasn't happy anymore. Years ago my Aunt was placed at Arden and we were impressed with the staff and how my Aunt seemed to thrive there. So we called, and after Christmas we made the move. We were afraid she would not adjust well to living without us. But she is ALWAYS smiling when we visit her. She has friends again. She is eating again. She is not depressed anymore. The facility is maintained beautifully and does not have the institution look or smell you would expect. Very clean. We are looking forward to the nicer weather as the outdoor grounds have gated walking paths and picnic areas. They have fun entertainment and family parties on all holidays. We know we did the best thing for her and at the right place! Mom is happy again. And so are we.

My father was transferred going to Arden Court several months ago. He went to Arden Court directly from the hospital, where they were having difficulty getting him stabilized. Arden Court has been wonderful for my father. People who work there are so kind and caring. When I asked my Dad this weekend, he clarified to say that they are "very kind." Often I will see the staff take a resident gently by the hand and help them find their way to where they need to be. Help is always offered with dignity. Nothing seems to phase the staff, who take it all in stride with a smile. I don't live nearby, so I am often trying to find my dad by phone. They always seem to know where he is and are happy to locate him. He has a cell phone, but he is prone to losing it. When he does, the staff at Arden Court will tear apart the entire facility to locate his phone for him. Jorge, the manager, is absolutely wonderful! He will encourage residents to play the piano and he will join along with them. He always seems to brighten the environment when he arrives. When my father is upset, he will gently lead him aside with care and concern and will give me a call to try and cheer him up. This is clearly a very difficult time my father. Arden Court has delivered more than I could have imagined in terms of a loving and caring environment as well as a supportive location for the entire family. (The cookies are also amazing!)

I am very impressed with the care given to my father at Arden Courts. The facility has a large and very attentive staff. Patients are comfortable, clean and encouraged to take part in many helpful activities. Patients are given special attention which address their specific needs. The facility is clean. The atmosphere feels like home. The residents are offered nutritious meals. There are sunny and inviting inside “front porches” and outside, there are gardens, park benches and walkways. Five stars!

My friend is cared for by sensitive, sympathetic caregivers in Boathouse: Melandy, Marcia, Anna. Others are Mini, Cheyenne, Julia. Front desk staff are welcoming:Bridget, Gwen. All and all Arden is a rising star in Memory Care Facilities.

Dementia sucks, period. And both of my parents have it. It takes a special kind of person to provide the care that a dementia patient needs. You will find those caregivers at Arden Courts of Farmington. The negative reviews here are from the past. New administration, new staff, and many new caregivers provide a clean facility with no urine smell ever, good meals, and activities to keep your loved one engaged. Should a patient require a higher level of medical care, UCONN is only 4 minutes away and Hartford and Bristol Hospitals are close by. That actually works out great because then you have the full resources of the entire hospital available, instead of the limited medical care that other facilities provide. Thanks to Cheryl, Jerry, Mel, Dzevida, Neltina, Marcia, Melandie, Anna, Cheyenne, Julie, Minnie, and everyone else that I didn't mention. At my last visit, both Mom and Dad each told me (in their own words) that they are happy . That was awesome to hear.

We are so very grateful to the super caring people who made my Father in Law's last years of life full. I would like to thank the entire staff at Arden Courts of Farmington for loving and looking out for my Father in Law. A special thanks to Cheryl, Jerry, Nancy, Doreen (both! Nurse and Front Desk), Evelyn, Deveda, Mel, Brigitte, Gail, Hollis, and Jorge for all you did for Dad and also for our family. You all provide a special loving, warm, kind, caring, home and your generosity will always be remembered in our hearts. It takes a special person with a big heart to work at Arden Courts and you all are angels. Thank you!

Arden Courts has proven to be an ideal location for my father. Having been recently diagnosed with dementia, and deemed not capable of living on his own, we had to quickly get him established at a location that would best address his needs. Since staying at Arden Courts his overall health and well being have dramatically improved. The staff there are friendly and attentive, and insure he takes all of his prescribed medicines as scheduled. He has established a regular routine for eating and sleeping that has made all the difference in his health and disposition. The Farmington CT facility itself is clean, very well kept and has excellent grounds for the patients to walk and enjoy the Connecticut outdoors. My Father has spent a good part of his life independent and self reliant, so the transition to a more communal living arrangement has been a challenge. The staff at Arden Court recognizes that and works with him to insure he takes part in group activities and events. It's great to see him have friends to talk to, both other patients and the staff.

I am a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been entrusting my mother's care to Arden Courts for nearly one year now. Living out of State made the selection of which facility to select all the more challenging and pressing. After an exhausting search of multiple assisted living facilities and many family discussions we chose Arden Courts Of Farmington. I can not tell you how relieved and pleased our family has been with the excellent care my mother has received from their dedicated staff. It was of utmost importance that my mom (increasingly trapped in the ugly grip of vascular dementia robbing her of precious family memories while challenging her grasp of person, place and time) be in a safe, comforting and uplifting setting where she would be treated with dignity, kindness, emotional support and excellent physical care. Arden Courts has met the challenge and exceeded our expectations. My mother appears very clean and neatly attired, but most importantly happy and stress-free. My nephew and sister-in-law visit her frequently and attest to the staff providing stellar oversight. Nursing Director, Cheryl Womack, is highly trained and dedicated to supporting her staff while meeting standards of excellence in patient care. Having worked as a consultant over many years in nursing homes I can appreciate how Arden Courts stands out as a major leader in Dementia Care and Quality Of Life Programming. It gives me such peace of mind to know that my Mom is receiving the care that Arden Courts provides. -Grateful Resident's Daughter In Virginia

Many times have I frequented Arden Courts of Farmington, and every experience has been 5 out of 5 stars! The staff is friendly, competent, and engaging; the venue itself is well dressed and manicured, clean, and tidy. I always look forward to the yummy beverages and cookies in the lobby. Arden Courts is a warm and inviting place that makes you feel taken care of and listened to. Happy staff and happy residents! Conveniently located just down the road from Westfarms Mall and Trader Joes (2 of my favorite places!) and about 4 miles from West Hartford Center.

Best place to work! Love my job at Arden Courts! Best environment and care is given to our residents!
February 2017
When visited over year ago for a program with refreshments, I found Arden Courts to be very clean with friendly staff. That was actually soon after my husband was diagnosed by our primary doctor. Since then husband has been home with my caring for him and only 15 hours a week from Companions and Homemakers. Now must find a home for husband thats safe as he has progressed to more than moderate dementia. If feasible cost wise we will consider Arden as his residence.
