My mom has been a resident at Glenn Carr House for a few weeks. Within this short time, everyone, by everyone, I mean ALL staff has been nothing short of amazing to my mom and to us, her family. Every question gets answered. Every request has been done. The staff is welcoming, kind, and nurturing to residents. It has been the best decision we could have made when choosing a place for my mom. When a family has to make the decision to have a loved one taken care of, you never know what you might run into to. I can honestly say, God was looking out for us because this is the perfect place for her! We can rest easy knowing when we are not around, they are taking excellent care of my mom. It's such a relief. Her room is cleaned every day. They ensure her laundry is done, her needs are met, and take the time to actually visit with her and make her feel safe. WOW! That is what it's all about. I appreciate the staff and the family atmosphere at Glen Carr House. We are blessed. I would highly recommend this for a loved one if you are searching for a top-notch facility.

My mother in law lived here for a few years. Most of the time she was well taken care of, but In her last year or so they dropped her when using a lift to transfer her from her bed to wheelchair

Both of my parents have been residents of Glen Carr House in Derby. They are cared for by caring, compassionate, loving staff. The facility is clean, comfortable, and has a homey feeling. The activities the staff provide are enjoyable. The staff have become additional members of our family because they not only take care of my parents, but of me too with their hugs and smiles.

Great place to live! The staff are professional, friendly and very helpful. There is always activities going on for their residents and they seem very happy and engaged. Glen Carr is an amazing Memory Care facility with caring, empathic and compassionate people that work there. I highly recommend this community.

Too much money for what they do. Management not friendly, nothing to look at out of the windows , there’s no patio furniture, Jany the nurse is very good!!

Mom is still there. Staff is very friendly, but the facility is in need of some updates and work. Very dull lighting in the main living areas, and patio areas need a lot of tlc. Bright light and sunshine are good for dementia patients. They have neither at this facility. Patio seat cushions have been left outside for the past 2 years. No flowers are ever planted. Just a brick wall and 2 wooden fence walls for them to look at.. when they get to go, depending on the weather. t Not much for residents to see when looking out the one small window in each main living area and their bedroom windows look out to a row of trees that haven't been trimmed. They have nothing to look outside at, on the patio, in the main living area or in their rooms. Walls and dim lighting, that's all. When entering each house, they have a very nice big and long patio outfront, but this is for staff, not residents. Change the patio area to an enclosed sunroom, with windows they can see out at the neighborhood. This would get better use than the patio area. Since they can't go out on the patio unless staff is available to go out with them to sit.

Hands down this company offers the most genuine and compassionate care. Working with them as a memory care in the community is such a pleasure. Everyone on the team is professional, and goes above and beyond to make sure to communicate quickly and effectively on all clients of ours that they also care for.

Making the decision to put a love. One in a memory care facility is ridiculously difficult, but after finding this place. I was amazed by their staff and the care that they provide for each and every resident one of a kind facility right here.

We pulled mom out of Glen Carr after 6 months because they used Depakote to treat her restlessness and agitation in dementia. It was shocking to see her change from a generally happy (though restless) woman into a fearful, sedated shell of what she was when admitted 6 months before. Upon reading "Depakote and Treatment of Agitation in Alzheimer's" by Esther Heerema, MSW, updated January 29, 2020, I learned many facts consistent with our experience. According to multiple research studies, Depakote was no more effective than a placebo in decreasing the challenging behaviors of dementia. These studies also found participants were at a high risk for side effects, including decreased blood platelets, increased agitation, gait disturbances, tremor, sedation and sleepiness, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Depakote has the advantage of being a medication that flies a little more under the radar in nursing home regulations”which are highly concentrated on the reduction and elimination of antipsychotic medications in dementia, but not as focused on Depakote. I cannot recommend Glen Carr to any family in a similar situation.

The Nye family highly recommends Glen Carr House for family members who require constant care. On our arrival day the staff was welcoming and made sure our loved one’s transition was pleasant and a positive experience. They embraced us with care and made sure the move in process ran smoothly. The staff kept us informed of how our loved one was doing in their care. The end-of-life care was excellent and greatly appreciated. Thank you to the staff of Glen Carr House number one.

The staff at Glen Carr took excellent care of my aunt when she was a resident there. They always kept me promptly informed of any concerns or changes in her care plan. They handled her with loving kindness and treated her with respect. They did their best to keep my aunt and I connected in spite of the Covid challenges. I would recommend Glen Carr House for anyone who is looking for a safe, caring environment for their loved one.

My Mother lived at Glen Carr House for almost 3 years. We chose Glen Carr for the convenience of their location in Derby, but our main focus was the cleanliness and professionalism of the Glen Carr staff. It was refreshing to see how the residents were kept active during the day and each seemed very happy and content. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They have maintained a safe and clean environment during Covid-19 and took every precaution to insure each resident's family that their loved ones are being well taken care of during the lockdown. As my Mother's dementia worsened we were able to transition her to Hospice without moving her. Through that difficult time the Glen Carr staff was absolutely amazing and supportive. My family and I would recommend Glen Carr House to anyone who is going through the difficult situation of a loved one experiencing Alzheimer's.

Glen Carr is an amazing Memory Care facility. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, this is an amazing place. There are 4 identical buildings which are called- homes and they are very well laid out and very homey. Staff ratio is phenomenal. They have great activities that are specific for people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The Management Team is very knowledgeable and compassionate and will take great care of your loved one. 5 Stars all the way around!

Our mother was there for 7 months. She was taken care of very well and she felt that this place was her home. She met many new friends and enjoyed interacting with the staff, other residents and their families. Glen Carr made us feel as though we were also family. They did a fantastic job including us in our mother's daily activities. Many of the residents would share their life stories. We all became friends with other families and did a lot of laughing. They were there for us until the very end of mom's life. We appreciate all that they did for mom.

My mother lived at Glen Carr for more than a year and half (til she passed away last March). I was pleased with the staff and management. She had lived in other facilities in the area; however, she was so much more engaged during her stay at GC. Her care was great. The nurses loved the residents. I wish I had moved her to Glen Carr much sooner than I did.

My mother was in the Glen Carr House for 9 months and we were extremely impressed with their facility and employees. They did a very good job of handling the Corona virus situation. We couldn't have been more pleased with their efforts all the way up to her passing.
